Pad Thai
Margaret M.

Food was decent and service was not the most attentive as we waited too long to receive the check. Walking into the place was a cool little experience since the designs and trinkets were clearly handpicked to produce an *authentic feel*. We ordered the Crab Rangoon (4/5), Pad Thai Dinner 3/5), and the "Amazing" Entree (3/5).

Tofu Pad Thai

The food here was excellent! I loved the pad Thai, I felt like it was the perfect amount of sauce and a great flavor, and the tofu was cooked well. The krab rangoons were very crispy and had a nice flavor with the curry powder in there. The ambiance is very nice and cozy with lots of decorations. The service was alright, but it was very slow and took a long time to get our food. However, the food made up for it so I'd definitely come back!

Garden salad on sushi appetizer menu

Veggie egg rolls are delicious. Would return just to have those. Sweet sauce. Disliked the ginger dressing served with sushi menu garden salad. Peanut sauce I requested to replace it was ok but not great. I tend to favor Thai and sushi restaurants with great dressings and sauces because everything else is pretty standard from one restaurant to the next. Raw salmon and raw tuna on my nigiri were very fresh and good quality; ginger was good; wasabi weaker than at done other restaurants. But the rice in my nigiri was not as tasty as at other sushi restaurants, and I kept having to drink water after every bite of nigiri, so I wonder if the rice was drier than usual. Rice did not seem dried out, seemed moist but left me with dry mouth. Not sure why.

We walked in and the place was close to empty, which started to change as time passed. It's spotless in here, and the one waitress was on the ball with her service; polite and friendly young Thai lady (as one might guess for a Thai restaurant). Menu is quite extensive and above that is a pretty sizable sushi and sashimi menu too. So Queen Bee had a rainbow roll and 4 pieces of unagi also. Both the eel and the salmon weee extremely fresh, she didn't give me any so I had to take her word for it. She left half her rice (shoulda gotten sashimi instead!) but what she ate if it was apparently quite to her satisfaction. Her roll was quite sizable too! I ordered roast duckling, cooked "Thai medium." Personally, I find it refreshingly clean, but the heat level is a notch or two above what Americans usually expect as "hot." So just be warned; having eaten "Thai hot" in years gone by, I remember it as "tonsil burning" kinda hot. That isn't even the curried stuff. Anyway, dear old Daffy was served on a sizzling plate, on top of which were dropped another plate of veggies: carrots, green and red peppers, broccoli, onions, baby corn and mushrooms. All of 'em were crisp, fresh tasting and made for a great accompaniment to that well prepared duck, which was tender as it could be. Sauce was plentiful enough without drowning anything or making the veggies mushy. Everything was super well prepared and for the amount of food, reasonably priced. My dear Queen Bee is still unfamiliar with Thai food, so here's hoping this makes a convert outta her. I was stuck between the duck or the so called Amazing Beef, which may be my next move should we return here. This is well worth your trouble which is why I give a 5 rather than 4 star review. I know I'd certainly return and look forward to trying other stuff on their rather extensive menu. Something a lil less common and stereotypical than pad Thai.

The food was amazing here and it's such an eclectic spot! Cool oriental theme inside with a sushi bar and lots of good noodle and soup options as well! The service was great too definitely recommend!

Shrimp green curry

The good is always good here. I only ever get sushi or green shrimp curry so I am only basing my review on that. Nice restaurant and setting. Typical Thai with knickknacks on shelving and around the restaurant.

A great Thai place tucked into a strip center on East Bay Drive. This spot has been here forever. The interior is fully decorated in Thai theme. There is a sushi bar as well as about 1 dozen tables in an oblong room. The a/c struggles to keep up so no need for a sweater. The menu is standard Thai fare. The chicken Pad Thai is the classic prep - thin rice noodles stirred with peanut sauce. Slightly sweet with thinly sliced chunks of chicken. Topped with bean sprouts and green onion plus a scattering of crushed peanuts. As good Pad Thai as I've had. Each entree, including this one, is adorned with an orchid bloom. Beautiful touch. The chicken satay is 4 skewers of flavorfully marinated grilled chicken. Accompanied by pickled cabbage and sweet dipping sauce. Crab Rangoon is a delicious take. The stuffing is as much cream cheese as it is crab, surrounded by deep fried and crunchy dumpling. Also delicious. The star of the meal is the tofu with mixed vegetables. A huge portion of cubed tofu is wok-fired with fresh veggies in a light and fragrant sauce. Served with a heart-shaped mound of sticky white rice. Excellent. Service is friendly and quick. Clearly this family-owned spot has honed the experience over the years and it is smooth.

While visiting Clearwater from Santa Monica we tried some local Thai food. The staff is friendly and place is clean. The dishes tasted good. My only complaint is the meats were all overcooked and tough to chew, especially the beef was like jerky. Rice was a bit dry too. I would recommend asking them to cook the meat a little more on the rare or medium side.

Shrimp and Chicken Pad Thai.

We love Thai Bay, we have been coming here for the past ten years and this place never disappoints. Everything is so delicious and the service is awesome. Fern was very attentive and helpful. We had Pan Fried Squid, Crab Rangoon, Sizzling Seafood, Shrimp Pad Thai and Coconut Ice Cream with fried Cripsy wrapped bananas. This small family place is well decorated with authentic Thai decor. Like always, we will be back soon.

Down in Largo, located off East Bay, is Thai Bay, in a very unassuming strip mall. It has 2 dining areas and a sushi bar and the food is so very good. My guy and I showed up for a date night and we were very happy with what we found. It's overall quiet and comfortable, with delectable food and great service. Our soda and tea never went empty and our appetizers and mains came out quickly and in the proper order. We started with a curry puff and chicken satay appetizer. I'd never had a curry puff before, but that won't be the last time I do, they were so good, so light and crispy. The chicken satay was a small order for the price, but still very good. Their peanut sauce was different than others I've had. Tasty too! I had chicken cashew, mild, my guy had his dish, a tofu pad tai Thai hot. We were both pleased with our meals, and I ended up taking 1/2 of mine home. We will totally.go back!

This is the highest rated Thai restaurant in the area so we gave it a try. The ratings are right!…read moreAll the food was fantastic. My dad ordered a tom yum chicken soup and it was a nice sized bowl with lots of chicken and veggies. The spring roll appetizer was tasty and crisp. Star of the evening was the outstanding jungle curry, at Thai spicy level. A ton of fresh veggies and chicken, delicious sauce, powerful but not brutal heat, and some much needed rice on the side to temper the flames. Service was polite and prompt, and the dining room is lovely. Will definitely return.

This is a neat little Thai place…read more I came for the Crispy Duck. I LOVE crispy duck. I saw online that they have the crispy duck soup & thought I would see if they make the whole duck/on the bone, not just a duck breast. I love the crispy duck but I like it on the bone, they usually give you half a duck so you get a mixture of duck, leg/thigh meat dark & breast meat, the flavors are better with the duck on the bone with the light & dark duck meats. Anyhoo, they didn't have Red Curry Crispy duck on the menu but they were so kind as to make it for me. They told me they make it on the bone, they just cut it off the bone before serving. This sounded reasonable & I have to have my Crispy Duck fix, so Presto! Like magic, soon, a lovely lunch plate of Red Curry Crispy Duck, cut off the bone, was indeed presented to me OuiOui. I was also brought a side salad & crispy veggie egg roll. The salad was super fresh, but I didn't like the dressing. It was way too sweet, pooled into the bottom of the cup. Next time I will ask for no dressing. The egg roll was perfectly cooked, however it was served cold/room temperature. Would have been better served hot or at least warm. I'm very pleased that I have found a crispy duck dish that has light & dark duck meats. Not just a duck breast. The crispy duck here was also cooked beautifully. I asked for it Thai HOT & my nose was running. It was a perfect Thai Hot for Moi OuiOui. I noticed a lot of Door Dash & take out coming & going. Some ladies were chatting while waiting & they were all talking about how good the crispy duck is here OuiOui. Agreed. The Crispy Duck here is very good. I'm so glad they cook the whole duck on the bone, I know for a fact they do bc I got a tiny piece of it on my plate :( I'm not happy I got the tiny piece of bone on my lunch plate, but I'm very happy that you cook the whole duck. It's unfortunate I got a piece of bone, but the dish is delicious. I also loved the artistic way the veggies were cut in the dish, they were cooked perfectly al dente, the rice was also fabulous & the Red Curry was a very lovely Thai HOT. The prices are also very reasonable. To the Chef: Thank you for making me the Red Curry Crispy Duck. It was delicious. I prefer it served whole, on the bone, however, if you're going to serve it cut OFF the bone "boneless" it must be indeed boneless. I had a piece of bone on my plate. (See photos) I hope that you can be more careful with the tiny bones in the future, as I would love to explore the rest of your menu & try the Red Curry Duck again in the future. Will Return to update.

This is a super cute little Thai place with a sushi bar…read more There aren't many sushi dishes on the menu but enough if you just want a simple roll, sashimi or tempura, which is moi fave. It's mainly a Thai place thou with lovely Thai vibes. I love that it's super cute with awesome Thai vibes. It has a very cute little patio facing the water fountain outside which is super cool. The ladies room is also spectacular with travertine walls & a marble floor, tre chic with great ambiance OuiOui. I got the soft shell crab & tuna Tataki. The soft shell crab was cooked perfectly. I would come back just for it OuiOui. However, the tuna Tataki was also fabulous. Super fresh sushi grade tuna, Lightly Seared with a tiny salad under. It was served with wasabi ginger lemon in a lovely ponzu sauce. I loved the way they served it here it wasn't sweet at all. Would def order both again. Moi only complaint is, they have the crispy duck here in Red curry, but it doesn't come with the duck on the bone, it's a boneless dish or I would have ordered it. I like the crispy half duck in Red curry on the bones. Would love to try some more dishes in the future thou. As I was leaving the Chef made me some cute little tiny doughnuts with a white glaze. So cute & so delicious. A very sweet jester, making an even sweeter ending to a fabulously perfect lunch. OuiOui. Adding to moi "fave restaurants in the Tampa Area" list. OuiOui. Will Return.

The sushi we ordered came quickly, and the kitchen food not long after that. The food is good - consistent and flavorful no matter the dish. This visit we ordered the drunken noodles, Chicken Katsu, and a spicy salmon roll. It hit the spot and the portions were very generous.
