Looking for a quiet, tasty Pre show dinner, we came in and were quickly seated and received our drinks. Hubby and I ordered our fave, Amazing. We started with Spring rolls, which came piping hot and fresh, crunchy and delicious. I had Amazing Tofu, which thankfully came NOT fried, and hubby had Eggplant, both dishes being LOADED with broccoli. We ordered a side (and when I say side, they brought an entire bowl full!) of extra peanut sauce. The rice was in the most adorable heart shape, even though Valentines was two weeks past. It had been a while since we'd been in, and wondered how the taste was. I can honestly say we have missed coming to Thai Bay, as their sauce is THE BEST, and everything was fantastic. Ordered 5,dishes last night thru DoorDash. Soup had unstrained tough pieces of lemon grass & leaves & was thin. Pad Thai salad had no lettuce. Wraps had more lettuce than shrimp. I have to take a moment to share my appreciation for the food quality at this lovely restaurant. I cannot think of any restaurant that prepares a variety of fresh vegetables so perfectly. My favorite dish, chicken cashew has so many large chunks of perfectly steamed vegetables: broccoli, peppers, carrots, celery, onions and mushrooms...all sautéed to perfection. My husband's fav dish, green curry with fried tofu also has amazing vegetables. Highly recommended! read more

The food here was excellent! I loved the pad Thai, I felt like it was the perfect amount of sauce and a great flavor, and the tofu was cooked well. The krab rangoons were very crispy and had a nice flavor with the curry powder in there. The ambiance is very nice and cozy with lots of decorations. It's really one of those places that you walk into and know you're in an authentic Thai restaurant. The plants the fish-tank the decor really add to the atmosphere. The first time i visited for lunch i got the duck pho. It was good but i didn't want to come back for it. My next visit i did take out, and i ordered yum beef... i cannot think of the original name but if you order it they will know exactly what item. That is the freshest and most refreshing meals I've tried! If you like vegetables, pickled/fermented flavors and beef it's the meal for you. Veggie egg rolls are delicious. Would return just to have those. Sweet sauce. Disliked the ginger dressing served with sushi menu garden salad. Peanut sauce I requested to replace it was ok but not great. I tend to favor Thai and sushi restaurants with great dressings and sauces because everything else is pretty standard from one restaurant to the next. Raw salmon and raw tuna on my nigiri were very fresh and good quality; ginger was good; wasabi weaker than at done other restaurants. But the rice in my nigiri was not as tasty as at other sushi restaurants, and I kept having to drink water after every bite of nigiri, so I wonder if the rice was drier than usual. Rice did not seem dried out, seemed moist but left me with dry mouth. Not sure why. read more

We walked in and the place was close to empty, which started to change as time passed. It's spotless in here, and the one waitress was on the ball with her service; polite and friendly young Thai lady (as one might guess for a Thai restaurant). Menu is quite extensive and above that is a pretty sizable sushi and sashimi menu too. So Queen Bee had a rainbow roll and 4 pieces of unagi also. Both the eel and the salmon weee extremely fresh, she didn't give me any so I had to take her word for it. She left half her rice (shoulda gotten sashimi instead!) but what she ate if it was apparently quite to her satisfaction. Her roll was quite sizable too! I ordered roast duckling, cooked "Thai medium." Personally, I find it refreshingly clean, but the heat level is a notch or two above what Americans usually expect as "hot." So just be warned; having eaten "Thai hot" in years gone by, I remember it as "tonsil burning" kinda hot. That isn't even the curried stuff. Anyway, dear old Daffy was served on a sizzling plate, on top of which were dropped another plate of veggies: carrots, green and red peppers, broccoli, onions, baby corn and mushrooms. All of 'em were crisp, fresh tasting and made for a great accompaniment to that well prepared duck, which was tender as it could be. Sauce was plentiful enough without drowning anything or making the veggies mushy. Everything was super well prepared and for the amount of food, reasonably priced. My dear Queen Bee is still unfamiliar with Thai food, so here's hoping this makes a convert outta her. I was stuck between the duck or the so called Amazing Beef, which may be my next move should we return here. This is well worth your trouble which is why I give a 5 rather than 4 star review. I know I'd certainly return and look forward to trying other stuff on their rather extensive menu. Something a lil less common and stereotypical than pad Thai. read more

A great Thai place tucked into a strip center on East Bay Drive. This spot has been here forever. The interior is fully decorated in Thai theme. There is a sushi bar as well as about 1 dozen tables in an oblong room. The a/c struggles to keep up so no need for a sweater. The menu is standard Thai fare. The chicken Pad Thai is the classic prep - thin rice noodles stirred with peanut sauce. Slightly sweet with thinly sliced chunks of chicken. Topped with bean sprouts and green onion plus a scattering of crushed peanuts. As good Pad Thai as I've had. Each entree, including this one, is adorned with an orchid bloom. Beautiful touch. The chicken satay is 4 skewers of flavorfully marinated grilled chicken. Accompanied by pickled cabbage and sweet dipping sauce. Crab Rangoon is a delicious take. The stuffing is as much cream cheese as it is crab, surrounded by deep fried and crunchy dumpling. Also delicious. The star of the meal is the tofu with mixed vegetables. A huge portion of cubed tofu is wok-fired with fresh veggies in a light and fragrant sauce. Served with a heart-shaped mound of sticky white rice. Excellent. Service is friendly and quick. While visiting Clearwater from Santa Monica we tried some local Thai food. The staff is friendly and place is clean. The dishes tasted good. My only complaint is the meats were all overcooked and tough to chew, especially the beef was like jerky. Rice was a bit dry too. I would recommend asking them to cook the meat a little more on the rare or medium side. read more

We love Thai Bay, we have been coming here for the past ten years and this place never disappoints. Everything is so delicious and the service is awesome. Fern was very attentive and helpful. Normally food is excellent, however last week something was off. Had the crab soup and the seafood was chewy and ended up spitting it out. That's the first time in the history of going to any Thai Basil in Clearwater. I would've sent it back, but we were rushed for time. I didn't even tell the server because of time. Down in Largo, located off East Bay, is Thai Bay, in a very unassuming strip mall. It has 2 dining areas and a sushi bar and the food is so very good. My guy and I showed up for a date night and we were very happy with what we found. It's overall quiet and comfortable, with delectable food and great service. Our soda and tea never went empty and our appetizers and mains came out quickly and in the proper order. We started with a curry puff and chicken satay appetizer. I'd never had a curry puff before, but that won't be the last time I do, they were so good, so light and crispy. The chicken satay was a small order for the price, but still very good. Their peanut sauce was different than others I've had. Tasty too! I had chicken cashew, mild, my guy had his dish, a tofu pad tai Thai hot. I got Pad See Eww beef today and was not disappointed! They wrapped it up in foil so that it stays freshly cooked and doesn't get the yucky melted styrofoam taste in it! The vegetables broccoli, snap peas and carrots were crunchy and fresh and the spring roil was crispy! They had lots of noodles, egg and beef so the vegetables weren't so plentiful that you only ended up with broccoli. You could put a vegetable in each bite of noodles with beef. They even put silverware and a side of sweet and sour sauce without my having to ask! They are nice and courteous to their customers and these extra things go so far in this super sucky time of inflation and recession Lunch portion was pretty good size! They look like they haven't been cleaned in a VERY long time, and the one large fish in the small tank just sits at the bottom because he has no space to swim. Make sure to make a reservation to this Thai/Japanese restaurant. Nothing special, the decor was Asian theme, looks a lil outdated. Food was ok, we had the fried eggplant, beef ball ramen noodles, chicken curry and a couple of rolls. Fried eggplant was surprisingly good, this can feed 6 people if not more. We stopped in as it had been many years. We were hankering for the Amaxing Beef. We each got wonton soup, Amaxing beef and Pad Thai. The soup was simple but perfect. We were seated and it took absolutely forever for our server to greet us. He (she?) kept going to the table right next to us to take orders and drop things off but didn't come to us.
