Stopped to have a nice dinner at this nice little Thai restaurant in Clearwater. I've been here many times in the past and as always, the food and service were very good. The vegetable soup that I started with had great flavor, but unfortunately, the vegetables were slightly undercooked. They had a little bit more of a crunch than I would have liked, but it was still a solid choice. One entrée we had was scallops in green curry. This was a really nice dish. Everything was well cooked, the curry was delicious and the scallops were enjoyable. The other entrée was shrimp in Panang curry. That dish was nothing short of outstanding. This was a solid 4 1/2 stars, only the little missed step in the vegetable soup kept it from being five stars. I've never had a bad meal in all the years I've been coming here. The pad thai here is very good and the perfect amount of saucy for me! I also liked the way the tofu was cooked, and the portion size was large. The service was great and super quick. The ambiance here is really cool, with lots of beautiful decorations and good music playing. I can be picky about pad thai but this one lived up to my standards for sure! read more

Unassuming from outside, once you enter it's an immersive experience with the entire restaurant ornately decorated from top to bottom!!! Beautiful place for date nights!! All staff were extremely friendly and hospitable the entire time!! They have an extensive menu with vegetarian options and a huge selection of sushi rolls!!! All the food we ordered was excellent in flavor, temperature and presentation!!! Iced tea was also perfect!!! Keep up the great work and we definitely will be back!!! Since the Covid pandemic, I have rediscovered some restaurants from my past. We decided to get some take-away from Thai Coconut and I'm so glad that we did! For appetizers, we ordered: the Tom Yum soup with shrimp, the Summer Rolls and the Fried Calamari. The Tom Yum soup was spicy in a rich sweet and sour broth. The Summer rolls had chicken and shrimp inside and came with an awesome peanut dipping sauce. I would skip the Fried Calamari. It was rubbery and flavorless. For entrées, we ordered the Basil Pork and their Pad Thai. The Basil Pork was tender and delicious. The Pad Thai was good, too! It wasn't pasty or watery...it was just right! Overall, it was a great take-away meal. Their food is not inexpensive, though. The only dish I wouldn't order again was the Fried Calamari. Everything else was tasty with healthy sized potions. I always knew that this Thai place is subpar compared to all the other ones in Clearwater Largo area. But I stopped by for dinner to go because I had a Groupon voucher for $20 worth of food for $15 (plus a Groupon coupon code for an extra 25% off). So I decided to redeem it on chicken pad thai and shrimp fried rice. The chicken pad thai with mild spice is not spicy at all so if you like spicy, then ask for 1 level higher than you normally would. But overall the chicken is not very flavorful and tastes dry. I would skip on the shrimp fried rice. It is bland unless you add soy sauce. And it's a bit soggy. Overall I would skip this place unless you snag a good deal on Groupon which they are very nice about accepting and won't give you a hard time. read more

Had takeout from Thai Coconut tonight. A friend told me that the food was really great: they were right! I had two noodle dishes--pad Thai w chicken as well as the tofu and spicy noodles. Both dishes were so fresh and flavorful: the pad Thai was my favorite because they managed to balance the "sweet" and "savory just perfectly! I also had the Thai vegetable fried rice, which had really wonderful flavor, including fresh basil. I've never eaten at their restaurant, but if the food is any indication of how the restaurant is, I might go sooner rather than later. read more

I was craving duck curry today and this place did not disappoint! We started with 2 appetizers. The dumplings were good, had a nice sauce. The Krab rangoons were a nice surprise with the curry powder in them. We also tried the Chicken pad Thai. I have had it all over and this on was a little over sauced and on the sweet side. But if you ask they will bring spices to the table and you can add at you leisure. However the star dish was the duck curry. The duck was perfectly crispy on the outside. The curry itself was great consistency and plenty of flavor! The staff was AMAZING! Such sweet and kind people. It wasn't too busy when we arrived and all our food and beverages were brought quickly. I am giving a 4 only because it wasn't my favorite Pad Thai and when I originally asked if they had coconut ice cream they were mistaken and actually didn't. This use to be my go to beaches of hoe good their Panang sauce is. I would get the Tom Ka as well. The Tom Ka is extremely tart & expensive. I came here with a group but this review is mostly based on my experience. I have a gluten allergy so I wanted to get some very basic sushi rolls. I explained to the waitress that I had an allergy and asked if the sushi chef could use a clean surface away from tempura, etc. She came back after talking to the chef and basically told me that they could not accommodate me, that the chef was too nervous. So I had to sit there the whole dinner while the rest of my group ate. My daughters enjoyed their pad Thai and fried rice and the sushi rolls that others got looked good. One person in the group got the beef fried rice spicy and said it was not good, didn't eat it. But other than that the food looked decent. The restaurant was busy so the service was sporadic and it seemed that they only had one waitress. I would recommend not going here for any gluten sensitivity or intolerance. If you just eat by preference, they did have GF soy sauce. read more

This small unassuming place packs a big flavor. Went here for lunch with a friend. She ordered pad thai and I had punang curry with chicken. both of these lunches came with a cup of chicken rice soup, delicious. For those unfamiliar with thai dishes, ask for a full menu to read descriptions , the lunch menu just has lists. My punang curry was delicious, veggies were crisp and chicken was tender. The portions were generous and the service was helpful and attentive. We got there at 11:30 when they open by the time we left it was almost filled. They take reservations and have a wait list. The parking lot is tiny but there is a second lot on the south side of the building. The decor is so cute and cozy-lots of elephants. I'll be back to try some of their other dishes. Good Thai food shouldn't be so difficult to find. The experience I had last evening left me feeling disrespected as a customer and dumbfounded as to what goes on in their kitchen. I wish Thai restaurants would just stick to Thai food and forget about sushi bars. Sushi is not Thai. Trying to please too many appetites in my opinion takes away from the nature of their cuisine. We ordered appetizers to share, curry puffs, spring rolls and fried calamari. the calamari was tough and hard batter was a bit greasy. the curry puffs were hard and also not having a lot of curry flavor. The spring rolls were greasy and didn't have much flavor. Three of us ordered different dishes. One diner was completely satisfied with his dish and I agreed after tasting the chicken dish it was good. The chicken with garlic sauce was very salty and while I l don't like my veggies overcooked, this restaurant serves it's veggies barely cooked. If you wear dentures I'd stay away from them! My friend did not enjoy her dish. I ordered Panang Curry with 'seafood.' (combination of shrimp/squid/scallops) The curry was OK but not as flavorful as I've had in other Thai restaurants. It was a bit lacking in flavor and consistency. I've had more flavorful dishes from Trader Joe frozen Thai entrees. I asked for medium spice and unlike anywhere I'd eaten Thai food before, there were pepper flakes scattered on top of the food. More of the same very crunchy undercooked veggies and the shrimp were cooked nicely. Unfortunately, some of the squid was a bit underdone but the scallops were completely Raw. They were grey in color and unmistakably raw. I brought this to the attention of the server who brought them back into the kitchen with the rest of the meal and brought them back on a different plate..still Raw. A second time I brought it to the attention of the server who brought them to the sushi bar and had a long protracted conversation about the dish with another employee. She returned a while later with a puzzled look and stated "we can't seem to get them to cook" She agreed they were raw and said they even went as far as putting them in a microwave. Scallops in a microwave!??? What troubled me the most about the dining experience was the fact that they never bothered to offer taking a few bucks off the price of the entree that had to be sent back twice. Even a complimentary dessert might've made me feel more valued as a customer. Unfortunately, this customer won't be returning there for another mediocre experience. read more
