I would not waste your time with Tez Marble. My experience was incredibly disappointing. After spending considerable time choosing the perfect slab, I was told it had been sold to someone else. This showed a serious lack of organization and gave me false hope during an already stressful renovation. The owner, Al Ong, told me he would compensate me for the inconvenience, but I never received anything or any meaningful follow-up. The communication throughout the process was poor, and I was left feeling that customer service was not a priority. Based on my experience, I found the team to be disorganized and lacking the professionalism and attention to detail I expected. I would not recommend Tez Marble and would encourage others to look elsewhere if they want a company that communicates well, honors its commitments, and values its customers. read more

After purchasing the slab we have been waiting for almost 2 months, have been stood up without communication 5 TIMES on dates for fabrication and install; and still no installation. We were doing a small remodel/upgrade to our kitchen. Our biggest challenge was trying to match our current back splash that we have. Tez Marble was highly recommend to us by associate that works for Floor Store. Once you enter Tez Marble you feel immediately that WOW FACTOR !!! Gizem Aydin greeted us and asked us what she can do to assist us. I briefly explain to her what we were looking for and she directed us toward the back of store where there was full room of tiles/marble to select from. No one helped us when we came in on a Saturday. We were shown the slab room and browsed it ourselves. The showroom was pretty empty. We saw 2 other customers. One customer looked like she was just on a walk with her little dog. They have a nice selection of quartz, marble, porcelain, and quartzite slabs though. read more

Overall, we were very pleased with the services we received from Tez. Ceyhun was most helpful showing us quartz and granite slabs for our kitchen - we were very pleased to find a quartz slab within our budget. Additionally, Ceyhun worked with us when we were picking out tiles for the backsplash. He was always friendly and responsive to our needs, and very professional. We did run into a glitch when the installers canceled their appointment on the morning of the scheduled installation due to a machine breakdown. Michael was very helpful in calming me down and working with the installers to reschedule for the next day. The installers were fabulous, despite many issues, they did an excellent job of overcoming some difficult obstacles due to the unevenness of an old house, and the countertops look beautiful! read more

We had a great experience working with Michael. He answered all my initial questions with a video call, saving me a long initial drive just to see if they had the product I needed. They stored our slab until we were ready for fabrication and then provided the receipt I lost but needed to give the fabricator for pickup. Had a really poor experience with Tez Marble. After we purchased our countertop from them the communication became impossible between fabrication and installation. When they came out to do the install, they had measured incorrectly and my stove top (which was on hand in my residence) wouldn't fit. They just left it, for over a week, without any timeline for coming back to fix it. I had to call them every single day, was promised I'd get a call back and I never did. It took me hounding them to get them to come back and fix their mistake. There were also questionable installation issues that I raised with Tez Marble directly and of course never heard back. It was such a poor experience, caused a lot of stress and unnecessary delays on my remodel. There are other countertop places, this place is not worth the nightmare. I still have part of my kitchen unfinished and it's been 3 months of trying to hassle them. Go elsewhere. read more

Tez installed the counter top of the island crooked from the cabinet boxes and didn't want to take responsibility for the misalignment. The edge of the counter was not parallel to the front of the cabinets. This could not be fixed as the stone is permanently glued to the plywood underlayment. Tez didn't want to provide any kind of refund or any kind of help in addressing this. Will never use Tez again. read more

Awesome shopping experience at the Oakland showroom! I called to inquire regarding inventory for quartzite slabs I'd been searching for. Michael answered the phone and was able to assist with all my questions and even sent a picture of a slab he thought I'd be interested in. It was the perfect dimensions I needed and he assured me he had enough slabs to complete my job. I drove 1 1/2 hours to view these slabs a couple days later and it was certainly worth the trip! The slabs were absolutely gorgeous and Michael was very patient with me. He never rushed me into making a decision, was very thorough and even took time to lay out all my countertop measurements on the computer to confirm how many slabs I would need. After my husband and I decided to purchase the slabs Michael marked them with my name and stored them until I was ready for them to be delivered to my fabricator. When the slabs were delivered to my fabricator. He made a point to tell me "we just received your slabs and they are beautiful premium slabs!" Ah, yet another remodeling review. Hold onto your keyboards because here it comes: Hubby and I had been searching a long time for our new kitchen counters. We likely went to a dozen places looking at marble and granite and glass and anything else you can put on a counter. Most of the places had the same old stuff - you know, the sparkly granite that looks like it should be in a Brazilian disco? Anyway, we were coming back from San Leandro, talking in the truck about which granite we hated the least, when we saw a parking lot full of granite on the side of 880. Hubby: "Let's look at one more place." Me: "Do they have a bar?" Hubby: "I don't think so." Me: "Then why do we want to go there?" Hubby: "They might have something better than the stuff that we hate." Me: Sigh. "Okay." We get into the parking lot just as they were closing, but the nice man let us in anyway. The moment we got out of the truck, we spied the most beautiful piece of granite. It was not ugly or sparkly, but exactly what we were looking for. *insert choir of angels here* Then we walked inside to find the most extensive showroom we had seen. It was a thing of beauty, and if they served food and drink and had rooms, we would have stayed there for days. It was better than a candy store. Really! Anyway, we browsed a bit, felt bad about keeping them after hours and made a deal for the slab. We left very happy knowing that we didn't have to settle for less than what we really wanted. Hubby went the next day and paid the cash deposit for the slab and was told they would contact us to arrange for the install. Fast forward a few months. We get a grumpy call from Chris (who is actually really nice, just wait for it) asking when we were going to finish paying for our slab. Hubby being...well, Hubby, says, "After you install it!!" This started a whole chain of events that is odd and somewhat remarkable (but unsurprising to those of you following the drama of our remodel). After several phones calls with Chris, we end up scheduling the installer to come out and measure. He does and tells us he will be there to install at a certain day and time. Yup, you guessed it. That didn't happen. In fact, when Hubby called him around noon on the day he was supposed to be installing (after Hubby waited all morning for him) he said, "What's your problem?" to Hubby. Not a good thing. In fact, the guy hadn't even cut the slab yet. We were ready to get our money back and go someplace else. Chris was so nice though. He really worked with us to make things right. He called another installer who came out, measured, cut and did a great installation. It was a long process from beginning to end, and a lot of drama along the way, but in the end it was all good. We'll be back to Tez because of Chris and because of the great selection of home improvement goodies. Not sure if we'll use them again for any installs though. read more

We purchased granite for our fireplace remodel over a year ago from Tez, worked with Michael who's an absolute gem of a salesman. I think the hardest part of this purchase was actually choosing which granite would be perfect. After the choice was made everything went very smoothly, from being confident in the referral Michael made for the cutter/installer, to the quick & efficient manner in which the granite was picked up, template made, granite cut & finally installed, grouted where needed & then sealed. We also have plans for the very near future to re-do our kitchen. The floor we put in the kitchen will run throughout the entryway, the hallway, the guest bathroom & laundry room, +/- 1,400 sq ft. Searched many places but found what we want for marble floors at Tez. Michael suggested we take home a couple of tiles to see what it looks like in our home, which is great because we're able to see how it matches up with the remodeled fireplace & family room. Now I just need to pin down my favorite granite slab(s) at Tez for countertops! Because we had such an outstandingly positive prior experience with Michael, & Tez, this will be our vendor of choice when needing tiles, stone, granite, etc... Don't know how their pricing compares to other similar businesses, but my dad always said you get what you pay for, so it's with it to us for quality - both in the product quality department & the customer service department. The first time I came here I had only a general idea of how I wanted to design my bathroom so the selection was pretty overwhelming. Plus they were pretty busy. It didn't seem like there was a good way to note which tiles I was interested in and we ended up duplicating efforts as I took pictures but then had problems finding the tiles in the display when the salesperson came back to ask if I had any questions. I was given a general price range for the pieces I expressed interest in and it was recommended that I return on a weekday when they are much slower and could take time with me. So why the five star rating? I shopped at other places and picked out tiles but what kept eluding me was attractive tiles that could be used for the floor of our shower that met the specs my contractor laid out. He needed 4x4 or smaller and I had originally picked out large shower floor tiles. The big box stores either had tiles that couldn't be used for shower floors or that I couldn't see before buying. I tried another warehouse type store and didn't like the selection and couldn't wait a week for the items to be shipped. Then I started getting desperate. In order to stay on schedule with a tight project timeline I needed to get my contractor the tiles within the next 48 hours only I was leaving for a conference that night! So I came back to Tez in a tizzy looking for their shower floor tile selection 4x4 or smaller available immediately or next day. With that criteria Michael pointed me towards the tile I could consider and Fatima helped me to review the options. They had an excellent selection to choose from and I appreciate their patience and gravitas in that critical moment for me. Since I brought my other samples I was able to choose the perfect complement - a gorgeous Travertine tile that reminds me of the sun-warmed stones of southern France and Italy - and was on my way 45 minutes later with the tiles in hand for a great price. I should have bought all of the tile here but since I didn't here's what I learned: 1) If you are just coming to browse your experience probably won't be as satisfactory. Having a specific idea of what you want (material of tile, size, color scheme, price per square foot and general related decor) in a store with this much selection is super helpful. 2) If you don't know what you want try to come during a weekday. 3) Tez can come through in a clutch situation when no one else can. What can I say? From start to finish, the entire team was fantastic. I want to call out Gizem and Taha, who walked us through the selection process and install process, respectively. They were both extremely patient and flexible with us, and were able to incorporate the changes we asked for throughout the planning and install phase. We bought 4 slabs from Tez. Michael was our sales rep. He did an awesome job explaining everything we needed to know. They were even cool enough to keep our slabs at their site until we were ready to install. We saw Michael write my name permanently and legibly on the side of each slab so that no one else could purchase them. There is absolutely NO WAY for them to have sent the WRONG SLAB as another reviewer believed to have happened to her!! No "bait and switch", as she called it, could have possibly happened. These guys have an excellent selection of rock, and they are very helpful in showing you the colors you might be looking for.
