I ordered the product on 9/9/25 to be delivered on 9/26/25. On 9/24/25 I was notified by email of change of the delivery date to 11/5 (!). On 9/25 I found the alternative and contacted Grainer to cancel the order. On 9/26 at 8:27 am I have received email from customer support aknowledging my cancellation request. At 10:12 am I have received the shipping confirmation with the tracking number. I figured since I'll be this location for a few days that I will give this an "Honest Abe" review. Grainger is a big company and they offer a lot of products, and I mean a lot of products. Just look at their catalog. It's a beast and can break your back if you hold it for too long. They have great customer service which is something that will make this place stand out. If they don't have it in stock they will ship it you quickly at an affordable rate. That's what they are known for. Getting supplies to you quickly. However, they are pricing, but if you get the right person, they can knock down the price a tad. This location is in the heart of the industrial sector. Meaning, lots and lots of people going to work in big trucks and angry with life. So be careful who you cross paths with as you may end up in a fight for your life with a two by four wooden plank. If you're looking for business supplies and need them quick, this place will be there for you. The staff is great. read more

Grainger is a fortune 500 company and a "broad based supplier of facilities-maintenance products, serving businesses & institutions." no category fits their business m.o. in yelp's choices. their product offerings include: material handling, electrical, fleet & vehicle maintenance, janitorial & painting, lights, office equipment & supplies, safety, securtiy, power tools, etc. their catalog runs over 1300 pages. this location looks as big as any costco location. haven't been to the other locations but they are in many cities in the bay area. drill: looked up item in catalog (red traffic cones 9 ish), wrote down item number & page number, went to order desk, paid, got confirmation number and was advised item would be in 3 days via ups. got the call a few days later and went to pick it up. no hassles at all. caveatt: obviously, they don't do any hand holding. you need to look up the item yourself. they can't know what you what. the catalog is also on line... good last resort place for items you can't find anywhere else. read more

I was met by a women named Tasha( sorry if I spelled your name wrong) and I have to say this was the worst customer service I have ever experienced! I needed a part that was in between the two sizes they had and I asked if there was anything they could do to help. She was short with her answers and would give me zero help. Ordered a generator which showed a 5 day deliver date. They would not price match HD or Lowes, but since it was available, I paid three hundred more for it. Paid with credit card and received a confirmation. When item did not arrive on time I contacted them and they assured me it shipped. When I called Grainger they said any missing items were between me and the shipping company, and that Grainger bears no responsibility for ensuring orders are fulfilled to the purchaser. So the commercials on the radio say that they have every part imaginable and if they don't have it, that have a part for that to. Well I drove out to the warehouse and showed the sales girls a picture of the item I'm looking for and what it does and she proceeds to type in a few things and tells me they don't have anything like the valve actuator timer I'm looking for. I say we'll do they have anything similar that I can use? She asks me if I made the one in the picture? No I didn't make it! The loud mouth woman (oldish caucasian, long dark hair in a pony tail, overweight - sorry didn't get her name) working the counter today (1/8/19) is so ignorant and rude. She was so disrespectful that I had to walk out. I mustered courage and came back in. The white haired Asian man waited on me and was so patient and very helpful. She started snooping when she realized I was getting decent service and tried to make conversation and we both ignored her. My part got ordered - no thanks to her. You might as well order the part online and have it mailed to you to avoid the potential disrespectful encounter. So the big mouth cashier gets 0 stars and the nice helpful one gets five stars. So I only give it 2 stars because of the grief from the awful cashier. I'll be back tomorrow to pick up my order - I will check to see if the rude one is wearing a name tag. Update: I picked up my order and got waited on by a very nice young African American man. I saw the mean clerk from yesterday walking around but I did not get her name. Helpful staff, but didn't have quite the same chain I was looking for (G70 rated 3/8" gold transport chain) as it was only available shipped from 50 miles away, and only in 20' lengths. I needed six 3' lengths. So as nice as the staff is, they're largely just human internet interfaces, and I do that quite well on my own. If you're looking for those types of heavy duty chain, or anything you can't find at Grainger or Harbor Freight, save yourself the trouble/gas/minutes and google Coordinated Wire Rope on 139th in San Leandro - they're quite hidden and have EVERYTHING you could ever need from this realm of things! They have PLENTY of everything, and they're the nicest guys you could hope to work with. They had the chain (also in 20' lengths, but were more than happy to cut it as needed) they had the hooks, and they had ALL the other things I needed that I've been piecing together over the last week. Just my luck that I find them last...but that was my last time with such a problem now :) They need a yelp page bigtime! read more

I had been everywhere looking for a Sterling shower rebuilt kit for a faucet so when I found out this place had them of course I quickly came in. So what ended up happening was that they would have to order them for me and it was no big deal to me since the guy told my order would be in the next day after 1 PM. So when I had went back the next day for my package they informed me that UPS lost my package! I was super annoyed but what could I do, so then again they said it should be here by tomorrow but I made sure for them to call me this time because I didn't want to go all the way there for nothing again. So the next day came and I waited for a call all the way until 4 PM because this place closes at 5 PM and since no call I called there myself to see about my package. So to my surprise I was informed that my package had been shipped somewhere else and I would have to wait again even longer... And I really need this kit so I guess I'll just keep waiting...smh... definitely won't be coming back here anymore after all this! Worst customer service ever. It was impossible to get any help. To top things off, the customer service lady CARMEN treated an older woman and man horribly. They were making a purchase and it seemed to be most difficult for them. CARMEN was making a copy of the customer's credit card and drivers license for their purchase. EVERYONE in business should know this is ILLEGAL to do. The customer tried to tell Carmen this but obviously Carmen is too ignorant to know the law. I felt so bad for this couple. This is why there is so much fraud. You make a copy of such and it gets in the wrong hands of an employee. After reviewing more reviews, I'll go to San Jose. read more

I shopped around for a new electric motor. The Grainger website had the most complete and easy to understand descriptions of the products. Their prices were right in line with everyone else and I could pick the motor up fairly close to home. Most pleasingly was that the counter person actually knew about the product and verified it was the correct replacement. To top it off she even carried the item out to car for me. I havent been in a Graingers in years mainly because sales were restricted to accounts only; no retail, but someone told me that had changed and I stopped in to check availability on a specific commercial door weather stripping. I was helped by "Kevin" and he was very friendly and helpful and even though he wasnt able to come up with a Graingers product to help, he was able to find a supplier very close to the facility I manage that had what I was looking for! He even ran out of the showroom to let me know he had just found a supplier for me! Based on that effort and service, I will be making future purchases at the San Leandro Graingers! read more
