This review is for my first and only visit to this salon so far. The best thing about this salon is the operating hours extend until 8pm on weeknights! When I found this out, I was thrilled! I work long days and dreamed of having my hair done after a hard day of work. Anyways, I made an appointment with Marie at 530 on a Thursday night. I got there at 5:20 and she was still with her previous client, which is normal. However, next time I checked my clock it was 5:50 and she was still with the same client. At around 6:05 I was greeted and got back to the chair. She asked me what I would like and she gave me her professional opinion on what I desired, which I ended up really happy with to this day. She walked me back to the sinks to rinse my hair and prep it for color. While I was drying she went and mixed up the color. Once she was done, she came and got me to sit me down in her chair to apply the color. I found that she was very hard to talk to, not asking many questions but only answering one worded responses to my questions to her. After applying it, she made me sit in a different chair and pulled up another client from the waiting room. The way her station is set up, you can see people who walk in and who are in the waiting room. I remember seeing the girl Marie pulled up to the chair, and was only in the waiting room for a good 5 minutes before she was pulled back. This irked me a bit since I was stuck waiting 30 minutes to get back to the chair. While I was processing, I thought client 2 was just getting a hair cut by the way her consultation conversation was going. However, Marie came back out with a tray with color and brushes on it. This irked me even more, and she took her sweet time with it. She must have seen the disappointment on my face, since she called my name all of a sudden to go back to the washing station. Once there, she got a lot of water in my ears and scrubbed my head really hard to where it seemed like she was rushing it. She put my hair in a towel and then made me sit in the same chair I was just in so she could finish client 2. After about 30 minutes later, client 2 and I change spots. She then gives me a trim and layers (which are wonderful) and still doesn't say a word. While cutting, she asked if she could style my hair curly and I say yes (with the understanding of an iron.) Once she was done cutting, she put crinkle cream in my hair and clamped it up with a clip and put me under the dryer. While I was dying of the overheated dryer basking on my neck, she continues on client 2 while having a lively back and fourth conversation. Once I was done drying, she switched us again and dry cut the rest of my hair and I was done. The time? 8:40. I did one all over color, and a trim. That's it. No eyebrow wax, no color treatment, no drastic colors. Just one all over color and style/trim. She charged me $110 for the whole thing and I was a little offended given the time she made me wait and juggled me and client 2. Once I got home, I checked my hair out in my bathroom and it looked like a rats nest. After she took it out of the clips, she didn't brush it. There were so many knots in it, it took me at least 20 minutes to brush them out. It felt like she just rushed me out for client 2. I love my hair color and cut, but I feel like just a paycheck to her and not a person or a client. I feel I can get this service elsewhere cheaper and feel respected. She's good at what she does, but she's not good at treating her clients right. I won't be back to Marie, but I wouldn't mind trying other stylists at Texture. It's a wonderful, beautiful, and welcoming salon with a very nice receptionist. read more
