I took the Beginners Firearms Class this past weekend and if you are new to guns the Beginners…read moreClass is well worth it. You learn gun safety and how guns work which is great for newbies. Both Lee and Raul are an excellent teachers and very knowledgeable from their respective military and law enforcement experience. The classes are informative and have lots of good detail as well as easy to understand. They brings their respective insights into the classroom and the class time went by very fast. Time on the range was good and both were present to make sure things went smoothly and make suggestions on how we were shooting. They both patiently answered questions in class and on the range. The only negative was the class was rather large (about 16 folks), but by splitting up the rooms when it went time for some hands on learning, it seemed to work just fine. I would definitely recommend Safety Measures.

I cannot say enough positive things about Jorge, his facility, and the training I got from him. He included some suggestions for defense that I had not even considered, believing (mistakenly) that they were illegal. He provided me with resources for materials and services which complemented the training, and made sure I understood how and when to use them. He was patient and answered questions completely. You may have complete confidence that you will understand your rights and responsibilities when you leave. I do think, however, that he was a little surprised that an old, fat guy with one leg in a wheelchair could black out the X ring with a puny little 9mm in less than 20 rounds.

With his advice, I was able to find a handgun with which I'm very comfortable. As a woman, I appreciated that Jorge did not patronize me or sugarcoat real-life issues to consider and prepare for. I highly recommend training at the Citadel, especially for those unfamiliar with guns and the laws of Texas.

They made good grades and learned many skills that will help them continue to be motivated learners and good human beings. Since we opened our doors I have been a founder, a parent, a volunteer, a donor and now an employee of the school. I've learned that growing and improving year-by-year is what we do. Many changes have taken place over the years but they all are part of growing a charter school community to be the best that it can be. I invite you to read about Jubilee academic centers San Antonio and come be a part of the AUSTIN campuses.

WBLA is going through a lot of change right now. I think in a few years the school can be great but…read moreright now they seem to be working out the kinks. The class size is not small and meets the standard maximum size. My son is currently attending WBLA and his class has the standard max size of 22 students (according to TEA). If you have a child with special requirements I would highly suggest looking elsewhere. I wanted my son to be tested for dyslexia and all I received was push back. A lot of things got ignored. I spoke with the local public school and had zero issues. For this reason I am pulling my son out of WBLA and into a Round Rock Public ISD school. We also had a lot of issues with bully's but the school handled the situation. They moved my son to a different classroom because there was a child in his current class with high auditory behavior issues. They felt it would be easier to move my child to a brand new classroom during the middle of school year cause my son would adjust better they said. Not even a month later they ended up expelling the child that was having problems. Go figure. Overall it is an ok school if your child doesn't require anything special such as gifted program, dyslexia, etc etc Update: I have since moved my child to Round Rock ISD and wow what a difference. I feel Athos standards were too harsh for young children. My son was coming home with massive amounts of homework in kindergarten. He was beginning to hate education. He dreaded going to school. They kept telling me my son was a tier 3 but refused to test him for dyslexia. Also, they were suppose to assign him a tutor but that wasn't consistent at the school so I had to hire my own private tutor. Now compare that to Round Rock ISD. My son loves going to school. Bully situations are properly handled. Within first month of school I am getting specialized testing. And my son WANTS to read. He loves school again and he isn't bombarded with homework. He wakes up excited. I hope my experience will help you along your educational path for your child. For us, going back to Public was better.

I attended the Songfarmer workshop in November, 2015 just west of Austin, in a really beautiful…read morerural setting. I think what Owen & Gordy have going with Songfarmer is a great thing, in that it can help songwriters who are at many different levels. Instead of the kind of scene where a professional songwriter just talks about what they do to write great songs, Songfarmer is a philosophy that gives you tools and puts you to work, in a fun, creative way, to make sure that you keep writing and up your output. The weekend was a huge creative kick in the pants for me, in that I have been writing more and better songs since attending, and my new habits have enabled me to be prepared for opportunities that have come my way. I met some great folks and expanded my musical horizons in many different ways. If you are serious about writing better songs and more songs, this is an excellent experience. The size is perfect, and the setting is really gorgeous, with good food and inspiring surroundings. The only bummer of the whole weekend was a super cold front that arrived in the middle of the night, but I don't think Owen & Gordy could do much about that. Go, you won't regret it.

The website is a little confusing because you can't create a regular account to sign in and out of. At least that was my experience (there was no way to recover a password from an old email that somehow was used even though I never used it before). After all that and I was able to confirm it was a legit business over the phone, I purchased the CE for laser tech and received the information very quickly over email. Links for education videos were sent and I was able to play and replay any that I needed more time with which I liked. You also have access for a couple months afterwards which is also awesome. I wish there was a tad more information but it had the basics. Once done I emailed them again and they sent me a Cert for my CE hours. I found the class invaluable if you want to learn the right way to carry a handgun and if you want the rational approach to practical armed training! Marcie did a great job of teaching. Thanks Marcie and Golden Stag.
