Sean did an excellent job installing a solar system on my roof to offset 100% of my electricity usage. 9.2 kW system with microinverters and attic run. The install was on March 01. Wanted to review right away but I waited a couple of months to see if the system performs as expected and I am finally ready to review now. I am an electrical engineer myself and I had done my research so I know when someone is giving me bs on a solar system. I got 10+ quotes from different big and small solar companies. Not only Texas Solar guys had the cheapest quote but they also did not give me any bs. I was a little concerned because they were relatively new in business (although Sean had previously worked with a large local solar provider). However, Sean and the crew did an excellent job. Sean and Texas Solar Guys came out and installed a 9.3kW system at my Northwest Hills Home in late 2018. I received many quotes, and Sean beat them all by a notable margin with the longest hardware and service warranties. He also promised a faster delivery (he beat estimates there). Most standout was Sean's patience and detail with my myriad of technical questions, and he was extremely flexible on my specific equipment desires. I felt like I had a true partner the entire time. There were no hidden fees, and I received extra things I didn't intend on including a whole-home surge protector and a generous offer to install my Sense monitoring system (which I bought from Amazon, not him). Also included were the ZigBee gateway equipment for the SolarEdge unit. All of that was included in the base cost, ZERO extra costs which I imagine would've easily added up with other contractors. Sean could've nickel and dimed me for this stuff, but he never did! His crew was extra friendly and they installed on my very steep and dangerous roof in less time than quoted. The system has delivered and been trouble-free and very productive in the three months I've owned it, far exceeding my expectations. After a few weeks, I wrote Sean a crazy long email asking a billion very Scientific questions. I received a response that day (a Sunday) with a very thoughtful and detailed response, that's when you know someone just cares about their product and their customers. So glad I found Texas Solar Guys! Backstory: My original installer had not answered phone calls or emails for months. I still have a labor warranty with them but the warranty is useless if they do not show up. I needed panels removed to fix a leak in my roof (not warranty, but a paid job) and the original installer took 19 days to call me back. In the meantime I had contacted Sean at Texas Solar Guys, WOW! He got back to me in hours, gave me a reasonable quote (we decided to redo the entire roof, so he did a complete removal and reinstall) and we scheduled the job. Our job was delayed because of "the ice storm of 2021" but Sean kept contacting me and assuring me that he could get it done as soon as the weather was clear. I had been interested in Solar energy for a quite few years, and always knew it was something I would eventually commit to having installed. I wanted to make certain that the time was right, and also to find the right company to do the work. After speaking with several companies, Texas Solar Guys provided the most direct and honest information about all aspects of the process, and what to expect once the project was complete. I had a TON of questions, and they managed to answered them all!! The proposal was straight forward and once we signed everything Texas Solar Guys received the approval from our electric company (PEC) in one day. Texas Solar Guys also provided me with the information to get the approval from our Home Owners Association and they approved the plans quickly and with no issues. The Solar install took one day and we were up and going! We had the install on August 19, but I wanted to wait to see what our electric bill would look like and how much we would actually save before posting a review. The first full month electric bill (September 2019) was $83.21 (September 2018 it was -$186.95), and second month on the system ( October 2019) the bill was $56.49 (October 2018 it was -$155.65). Needless to say that we are THRILLED, and delighted to have Solar energy! Bought a property that already had solar installed. Everything was working fine until a few days ago - error code on inverter and a call from the City of Austin saying the system wasn't feeding to the grid. Sean and Texas Solar Guys had replaced the inverter for the previous owner, so I gave them a call. Sean answered right away and was able to meet me the next day. Inverter just needed to be power cycled and we were back in business. Sean also took the time to explain the system setup and answer a few questions that I had.
