This review is for this location only. It was our first time ever trying Texas Roadhouse. We decided to stop in for an early dinner because we wanted to avoid the Friday dinner rush. We arrived just before 4pm and the parking lot was already starting to fill up. When we entered the establishment, we were greeted promptly and shown to our table right away. The dining area had a laid-back casual vibe with "Texas" style decor (wooden beams/walls, mounted deer/moose heads, bass fish, neon beer signs, bull skulls, etc...) As soon as we sat down, a basket of freshly baked bread/rolls were placed on our table. I have to say, their bread did live up to the hype. They were soft, warm, buttery, slightly sweet, and came with their famous whipped honey cinnamon-y butter. The butter was good, but I preferred eating the bread on its own since it was already slightly sweet. Also, bonus point for the free bag of peanuts on each table for dine-in guests. We ordered the 12 oz. prime rib and the 12 oz. New York Strip. For sides, we got baked potato, green beans, loaded baked potato and house salad. The baked potato was tender and fluffy on the inside, and the green beans had a lovely smokey taste because it was cooked with bacon. The house salad was your basic restaurant quality side salad, nothing special. They did deliver on the loaded baked potato as it was stuffed to the max with fixings. The meats were perfectly cooked. The prime rib was ordered rare, and the New York Strip was ordered medium. Both meats were tender and well-seasoned. I was pleasantly surprised by the au jus sauce that came with the prime rib. It was onion-y, savory, and not too salty. Overall, food was very tasty, and service was good. Parking was super easy since they have their own parking, but it will fill up fast during peak weekend dining hours. I would not mind going back again. read more

Took my mom to dinner last night, Thursday. I had done the wait list seating. I wasn't thorough on reading the text... it said to send REMOVE when your full party had arrived. I sent that as we walked in and I told the hostess I had done the ahead seating with our confirmation number. She looked at her stuffs...informed me I should be sending HERE as remove will do just that for my name on the list! She said it wasn't a problem since there was no wait yet but she wanted me to know so it wasn't an issue at a later date. I thanked her for her clarification and that I appreciated her! On to dinner... the delightful TJ was our server. He was ever so accommodating when we noticed the only ceiling fan on was the one next to our table, so we asked if it could be turned off? Poor TJ, trying to reach the chain....then it was pulled to the point it was cycling on high. He found his manager and there is a wall switch to make it easier, but thank you for being so accommodating!! The food....was delicious!! I always enjoy that my side salad comes out on a cold plate. When we asked TJ for a second butter for our rolls... he brought out another roll basket with two butters!! Above and Beyond. Myself, another veteran, my wife and daughter decided to cash in our Veterans day coupons and let someone else cook on a hot day. Apps were good, Caesar salads are prepped and dressed prior to dinner service so getting dressing on the side wasn't an option. Not at all a big deal. Fried pickles and onion blossum were very good. The issue for us is that we ordered water. Three of us drank a bit of said water. It tasted of bleach or dish sanitizer. Like that biting, chlorine taste of shrimp that has turned. Astringent. Asked server to tell kitchen so no one else might injest whatever we had. Spoke to a section manager who said it's their hard water and they can't do anything about it. That is ridiculous. It was like pool water, that's NOT hard water. Manager stated she can't drink the water there either, as I see more people and children being served water. A couple minutes later, my 12 y.o. goes to the bathroom an commences to vomit up her dinner. I felt warm, had a burning/heartburn feeling down throat and in stomach. I didn't ask for nor do I want anything comped, covered, omitted, discounted ect. I only want people to be aware that they seem to know there's an issue with the water (it is not just hard water), yet are serving it to you and your children. If someone sees this soon and has the ability to test their glass of water I'd suggest you check it out and I'd be interested in the results. read more

Standard TX Roadhouse. My Soldiers wanted to eat here. Food is ok at best. Best thing is that honey bread of theirs that's free.

My wife and I went there for an early dinner after the doctors appointment. They opened up at 3:30. We got there about 345 and they were fairly busy already. I kidded the hostess about giving us something with a view. I should've asked her for some where more quiet, they pack everybody that comes in into one area instead of spreading it out a little bit. Edwardo our server was very good. Josh who brought our food was very pleasant. The food was very good except that they had no real butter. I asked him if my potato had butter on it or margarine they said margarine I said could I get some real butter sorry we don't have any butter which I think is pretty unacceptable for any restaurant. I ordered the buttered corn, which is not true.!!! Edwardo must've said something to one of the assistant managers or head server and he did stop and ask us if everything was OK with the corn I said well it says butter corn, but you don't have any butter he says is there anything I could do for you? I said well maybe a free dessert would be nice. He said oh I'll have to talk to the big boss !!!! I never heard back from him so We did order dessert. It was good and we did pay for it. unfortunately I won't go back to any restaurant if all they serve is margarine. It was a Friday night about 7:00 pm and the restaurant was crowded and we were spread out six feet apart from other guests. The staff wore face masks. It was a party of four. We ordered chili, ribs, salmon, burgers and steak. All of the food was average at best. The ribs were poorly seasoned with tons of barbecue sauce on them. Unfortunately most of the food except the chili lacked seasoning. Our wait staff was the star of the show. She was friendly and she paid attention and addressed all our needs. Took my sister in law out for her birthday during my visit in La Crosse. She wanted Texas Roadhouse because of their famous dinner rolls . We arrived and to my surprise, for a small town, this place was jam packed for a Wednesday night. We were lucky enough to get our seats after a few minutes of waiting. Our waiter Tony was amazing, along with his trainee Matthew. They were super patient as we had kids with us as well. Tony introduced himself along with introducing Matthew and explained that he is training. They kindly took our drink orders right away. My sister in law wanted a Virgin sangria for my 13 year old niece, howuever, Tony explained they no longer allowed "meant to be alcoholic drinks to be made as virgins. Which was understandable. However, he gave my niece a complimentary lemonade which was SUPER NICE! Now on with the food, everything came out on a timely manner even though they were quite busy. I ordered the beef tips with seasoned rice and the rest of our party ordered the bloomed onion and fried pickles for apps; along with our main courses: ribeye, prime steak, single porkchop and if course Mac and cheese with loaded fries for the kids. Our servers were great and we definitely tipped beyond the 20% since Tony and Matthew were super accommodating, thoughtful and just simply amazing at their job! Huge praise for such great customer service especially during the recovery of the pandemic. This particular Texas Roadhouse needs a lot of IMPROVEMENTS!! The main entree (Grilled Shrimp) was not served hot. The side salad was so small and served so sloppy. The server was very sweet but needs to be trained on how to be a server and take care of the customers; we had to constantly ask for things and it took her so long to come back, and forget asking how the meal was, we were already done with the main entree before she asked us if everything was okay. The ambiance is great, but they need to have the people who clean the tables do a little sweeping; the floor where we were sitting was filthy and under our table had so many pieces of food, it was gross!! My family and I love Texas Roadhouse, but not sure if we'll be back to this one!! read more

Best service we have had in a long time. Garrett was our server he kept the refills came over and over without asking. The amazing fresh warm buns with cinnamon butter kept coming too. When we were wrapping up he brought the bill for us and offered boxes. Our steaks were cooked to a perfect medium. Holy cats... was this place BUSY on a Saturday night in LaCrosse, WI!! Thank goodness my son had their phone app and got us in the waitlist early! They have a LARGE waiting space and... uhhh... it was full! Menu is large. The fresh bread and cinnamon butter is a tasty compliment starter! Great place for families.. the decor is lodge like with much to look at. We ordered the fried pickles which were yummy! I got the 12oz ribeye with extra shrooms. My better had got 6oz sirloin, baked shrimp and stuffed baked potato. She also got a Sangria that came in a glass that was HUGE! When a place is this busy... you almost expect errors or delayed attentiveness from staff... not here... they must have A LOT of servers! One of the best restaurants experiences we've had. We walked in and everyone had a smile, was kind and attentive. It was very clean. This is what I imagine cooperate points to as their model restaurant. Courtney was our server and was super nice, attentive and quick! The manager made rounds and was checking with everyone to see if they needed anything. The food was delicious and the steak was seasoned perfectly. Good. The food is amazing. Like literally it never disappoints. I like getting a burger, fries and a blue raspberry lemonade. These are my favorites and I would recommend them. Me and two of my friends came here to set the Texas Roadhouse roll eating record, of 132 rolls. We were polite and offered to pay for the cost of the rolls Necessary, which was 33 baskets. We were quiet and posed absolutely no threat. The manager came up and asked us what was going on. He said even if we did pay the cost of the rolls, he wasn't going to give them to us anyway(stealing?). We asked why and he walked away without letting us finish. Our waiter, faith, then came up after talking to the manager and asked us to leave. Of course, after we left her a 20$ tip, she told us we didn't actually have to leave. We left the 20$ with her exited quietly without saying a word. Worst service ever. I'm appalled they didn't show us an ounce of respect until after we flashed money. Long story short...went in to get gift card for my 85 year old mother who was sitting at a table. It was going to be a surprise. She was headed to Wisconsin dells with my sister to go see Daniel O'Donnell and she loves Texas Roadhouse! So I get the gift card and give it to the very nice host and I said can you go give this to my mother and told her my mothers name and tell her that Daniel O'Donnell is buying her meal. After asking if we could use my birthday reward, admitting I was a few days late because of our brutal winter weather, she said yes they can override and I can use the code. My husband wanted our family to celebrate his birthday with our family at The Texas Roadhouse. we had a total of 14 people and after numerous phone calls management would not budge on reserving a spot for us. Their solution was that we be put on a "wait list" and HOPE we would be seated close together....but no guarantees. We may be spread out all over the restaurant! Arrived last night a little before 8:30, it wasn't busy at all. We got seated and waited almost 30 minutes just to get our drinks ordered. A waiter walked passed us multiple times and looked at us but never asked us if we needed anything to drink or if we wanted to order. I had to ask to be helped twice before getting our drinks ordered and food ordered. We then proceeded to not get our appetizers until a minute or two before our food came out. We both ordered steaks, and they were extremely tough, burnt and chewy. We ordered 8 oz steaks each and they were very tiny. We've been here many times before and the steaks were never that small. Our son is graduating from college on May 14. We have a good number of family coming. We do not live in LaCrosse area so we decided to get a catered take out meal because no restaurants are taking reservations, besides our group will be about 20 to 25. Approximately a month before the date we contacted the LA Crosse Texas Roadhouse and attempted to get the order placed. My wife was told by the manager that the kitchen manager would have to contact us back with the prices. A week later I called and spoke to the manager and was told the same thing, kitchen manager would contact us with the price. He told me he would put a note up right next to my wife's note. Several days later my wife contacted the manager again and this time was given a price and told us our order would be ready on the 14th at 11:45 for pickup. On Saturday May 5th we received a call informing us that since it was Mother's Day and graduation they would be too busy and would not fulfill out order for us. I spoke to corporate office and they really didn't seem to care. So if you have a group gathering where you need service I wouldn't count on the LaCrosse Texas Roadhouse for anything.
