My 2nd time at a TR and 1st time at this location. We came as a group of 3 and overall had a great experience. It was packed on a Saturday afternoon but we were able to get seated right away. Our waitress was fantastic & personable. The bread was just as yummy as I remembered from the first time. We ordered a lot of food and everything was delicious. Our favorite item was the steak and the ribs. The mango margarita with the shot was also great. Came here last night for dinner with my fiancé. The service was absolutely incredible. Our waitress continuously noticed that our drinks were empty so she kept bringing refills. My 8oz sirloin was cooked to perfection, it wasn't under or over cooked. My fiancé got a 20oz ribeye that was also cooked to perfection. We had a very pleasant and delicious meal. The amount of times I have ordered my steaks medium and then they come back basically raw. This is my last time coming here. The most recent time I was there I ordered a steak medium and it came back with a piece of hair on it, I sent it back and they made me another, the other one comes out and I cut it, it's RAW. Totally not how I ordered it. Didn't even bother complaining about the way it was cooked because I have complained before and had to send my steaks back multiple times and it was still wrong. Very disappointed by this location. We ate here a few weeks back with a large party of visitors. Almost a third of the group had some stomach issues an hour after dinner and we did not have any food prior. We called up Texas roadhouse to inform them, not to make a complaint, but more so to warn them in case there was something in the food that caused us to feel unwell and didn't want this for other patrons. The person in our party who called spoke very calmly, and spoke in a very matter-of-fact manner. We didn't expect much but at least would have appreciated a "hey, thanks for the heads up." This is where the stars were lost: The manager kept repeating that their standards and quality is of utmost importance, and that everything is thoroughly checked, and pretty much dismissed us. A bit disappointing considering the fact of how much food we ordered on the so-called high quality of food. I would think twice before coming back to this location. Well, I finally had my last visit here for a while. As I have noted previously, 9 out of 10 times you're sending your steak back here. Yesterday I sent mine back three times because each were inedible. The first was well done and I ordered medium. The second one was gristly and chewy and was also too rare. The third I finally just accepted because I was starving but it was still just not good. I'll now be going to other local steakhouses where it's right the first time and I can sit there and enjoy it. The salad here is excellent though and I will miss it the most. I will say, however, the servers here are always great. Our server, Melaki, was attentive and corrected my steaks fast while making sure the last steak was removed from bill (unexpected) since I didn't eat much of it. As for the temperature it wasn't bad yesterday when it was a very chilly day outside so it was nice and warm inside. I will not be back here for a very long time, if ever. It's a shame. read more

Went here tonight with my GF and her mom looking to get a good meal. We had about a 40 minute wait, which at 6pm on a Saturday isn't bad. We were seated, placed drink and appetizer orders, then placed our main order. A few minutes later our appetizer came out; got their version of the Bloomin Onion which was delicious! Our big complaint came when about 15 minutes after the appetizer came out our server came over and notified us that they no longer had the prime rib my GFs mom ordered. The prime rib was the main reason she came out. When we talked to a manager about why it took so long for us to be told so she could order something different she just seemed indifferent; although she did end up comping the meal she ended up ordering as a replacement. We could tell our server was upset when she came to tell us about the issue with the prime rib. We told her it wasn't her fault as she was doing the best she could to take care of us. My second visit here was way less chaotic than the first time as we went at 4 pm when they opened. We were seated immediately at a 6 person table all to ourselves which was nice. Tried the twisted mozzarella sticks this time while my partner had the rib appetizer. Both were very good. The sticks were crispy and tasty and the ribs were smoky and fell off the bone. We both ordered the Dallas filet with sides of mashed. Both were cooked as ordered and melted in your mouth. The mashed were delicious but the green beans were in a strange pool of oil. Did have one on tap and it was fine (flying fish) but NJ is still a bud light and coors holdout. Getting to the table and to the bathroom a bit of a challenge, aisles are narrow. This restaurant like most does not pay its workers for a sick day. So the waiter throwing up in the bathroom wasn't encouraging but not completely uncommon either. Sorry to my European readers. I did check to see if the sick server was mine (wasnt) and I soldiered on. My wife and I have driven past this Texas Roadhouse about a thousand times over the years, so we recently decided to try it out with some to-go food. It's always super packed, so we were pleasantly surprised at how quickly our order was prepared. The pickup process was seamless (although it can be a little annoying to find a parking spot) and you get quite a lot of bang for your buck. We ended up splitting the 12 oz ribeye with green beans and mashed potatoes (with complimentary rolls!) and were impressed with the quality of everything. The rolls with the special butter (apple cinnamon?) are delicious, and the steak was actually cooked medium rare and was pretty darn flavorful. I didn't eat the green beans but my wife enjoyed them, and the mashed potatoes were tasty. Overall, I would definitely get a to-go order from here again (heck, we might actually go inside to eat next time!). read more

My wife's cousin recommended Texas Roadhouse in North Plainfield, NJ so we planned to go there tonight. We decided to go to the Hamilton NJ location instead due to better traffic at that time of day. Glad we made that choice. We sat at the bar while we waited for our table. We ordered drinks and the bartender Sam H. was very nice. We told her we were having such a good time at the bar while we waited that we'd like to be seated at the booths in the bar area. She made it happen and became our server as well. The service and food was amazing! Even got a free entree for next time, which I hear all TR locations do, but the handwritten note was a lovely touch. The pulled pork sandwich and the smoky BBQ sauce it came with were amazing. A bit heavy on the pork but I can't complain about having too much of a good thing, 10/10 Steak fries were honestly not so great, bad texture and just not a tasty seasoning, 3/10 The country fried steak was a bit heavy on the breading and light on the meat, but it was so flavorful that I can't give it less than an 8/10 The seasoned rice was delicious and the vegetables were cooked down enough to not mess with the texture 9/10 The mushrooms were PERFECT. We hadn't been to a TXRH in years! The mere mention of its name brought out excitement, we sure were in for an exciting stormy Thursday evening. So I downloaded the app (please do, you can check in ahead of time and possibly get free vittles to boot), but neglected to check in as we approached the restaurant after the grueling schlep from Bordentown. No big deal. We were greeted by a very surly hostess and only waited about 10 minutes at 7 or 730 on a Thursday. The seating area was schmutzy (see photo) but oh well, this is down home Texas (by way of Indiana) cuisine, so we ordered drinks and dealt with it. Cabernet for $6 a glass isn't bad at all. For $2 more you can "Texas size it" and go from the normal 6 oz to 9 oz. yes, I did it! Boo ordered the sangria margarita and she said it was good. I liked it but a bit sweet for me. Decently sized, she got a buzz for around $8. For food. Well, they..ran out of chili! That would put any Texan to shame, nearly as much so as missin them Friday night lights, voting Democrat or sellin' the ol' pickup truck I reckon. So for my 2 sides, went with the Caesar salad and fries to go with the 8 ounce sirloin, ordered "as rare as you'll make it." The fries were quite pedestrian. However the sirloin was tender and rare. It wasn't dried out or tough, which takes skill with such a lean cut of meat. That's what I loved about it, didn't have to trim away any gristle at all. Boo's ribeye? Unfortunately that's another story. She ordered the onion toppings (boy do they slather 'em on) to where you couldn't even see the steak. I could see its grey color from across the table: looked like medium well rather than the requested medium rare. It did remain moist due to the fat content of ribeye. However disappointed she was, she didn't want to send it back. She enjoyed her loaded baked potato and Caesar salad. Of course the buttery cinnamon honey rolls are good. I could only eat one though. Skip the dessert menu, it looked weak with only 3 choices. Will we come back? Sure. What makes me take away 1 star is the lack of cleanliness in the seating area and the surly hostess, one more is lost for the over cooked meat and the running out of chili. We arrived with my twins in their carriage and was told that carriages are a "fired Hazard" and that they don't allow carriages unless the seats can be removed . We desired to stay anyways. We got to table chairs for them (not sure what they are called) we were supper uncomfortable because we sat in a small booth and not enough room to move.
