Shout out of Cathy for being awesome!! She was very helpful and just pure fun. We went for happy hour and was quite impressed by variety. The drinks were actually really good. I can drink 10 of the blueberry lemon drops. Highly recommend if you like citrus drinks. For food, we got the tuna wonton, fried pickles, cauliflower bites and grilled shrimp from the main menu. I loved the fried pickles and the sauce it came with. The tuna was really good, my partner loved it. The cauliflower was standard, just not super crispy. I always get the side of shrimp at BG. I enjoy coming here for lunch and dinner to order their scallops and shrimp skewer meal from the wood fired grill section of the menu. Note that it is not on the skewer but cooked that way and is delicious! An excellent sauce on the side is the pan Asian sauce and is a must have with this meal. The jasmine rice and coleslaw are great sides to get with the meal. Their coleslaw is one of my favorites as it has a decent amount of vinegar, but in a very good way. Their bang bang shrimp is very yummy and I highly suggest it! The decor inside is very romantic and a great date vibe. There are many booths, tables and chairs, and high tops with one side a booth and the other side a chair and the seat cushions are quite comfortable. There is also a nice bar. The temperature in this restaurant is a hit or miss. Many times it's been so cold everyone in the restaurant was eating with their jackets on, so we had to tell them to turn the heat up because it was so uncomfortable. Another downside is that this specific location must have a sewage issue with the bathroom because the smell from the bathroom leaks out into the back portion, and sometimes middle, of the restaurant. I am talking BAD...dirty diaper/toilet smell. I have no idea what is going on, but I would highly recommend not sitting at the back of the restaurant. I have eaten next door at another eating establishment and have not ever smelled this, so not sure what's going on at Bonefish. Nonetheless, the food here is excellent and service is great. The servers are all very friendly and attentive. The manager, Dan Rosenbaum, is very kind and always stops to say hi and check on how your meal is if he is in. I'd actually like to highlight that the reason I ever came here in the first place is that Bonefish Grill volunteered to cater a wonderful walk for a cause, Walk 4 Hearing, at the Mercer county park. They gave out platters with salmon and potatoes and it was outstanding. Dan gave his card out and a few coupons, and since I enjoyed the salmon meal so much I decided to give them a try in the restaurant. I have been back so many times since, so much that the staff, and Dan, know me by face now. I will surely be back soon! read more

I generally stray away from chain restaurants, but Bonefish Grill is one of the few that usually can lure me in. Their fish entrees are good and I've had their specials of the day, which have "wowed" me. Delicious fresh baked bread accompanied by a pesto oil dipping sauce is complimentary with every meal. The bread is awesome and the pesto sauce is good too. For dinner, I have ordered the Tilapia Imperial (among my favorites), Wild Blackened Snapper Special, Pineapple Glazed Shrimp (a special of the day and it was fabulous), Cod, Fish and Chips, Crabcakes, Ahi Tuna, among others. All of our meals have been on the delicious side Service, overall, has been great. Our wait staff are personable, professional and helpful. We stopped here for dinner and sat at the bar. Julia was our bartender and she was friendly and attentive. They have a special 2 dinners for $45 deal which caught our eye because it included key lime cake for dessert. We decided to try that and I ordered mahi and he ordered the bone-in pork chop. It included huge salads, I had house and he had Caesar. My mahi was very juicy and the mango salsa really had a kick. The broccoli and jasmine rice were nothing special but both the mahi and the pork chop were delicious and cooked perfectly. We took the Key Lime cake to go, and once Julia found out we still had 3 hours to go, she gave us some waters in to-go cups. Came here for lunch today and had an OK time. We were seated immediately and service was excellent throughout the meal. I was particularly impressed that the bread was basically ready for us as we sat down! Speaking of which, the bread and olive oil were delicious - I almost ate it all but managed to restrain myself so I had some room for the main course :) I ended up getting the sirloin and crab cake duo (with broccoli and mashed potatoes on the side) while my wife got the parmesan crusted rainbow trout. My meal was honestly a little disappointing - the crab cake wasn't super flavorful and fell a little flat, and the sirloin was cooked to the right temperature but just didn't taste that great. The broccoli was basically just steamed with salt and maybe pepper, something I respect (a healthy side should actually be healthy!) but I do think they could have elevated it in some way. The potatoes were good. My wife had similar feelings about her trout (OK but not excellent). Our meals were not cheap, either, so that kind of added insult to injury. The beer selection was pretty limited, which I found disappointing. The menu advertised local drafts but when I asked our server about them, there was only one "local" option and it was a super common beer. Bonefish is one of the few chains I will frequent. Sat at the bar as it has a cool vibe to it. The bartender served the bar area as well as the bar tables. He was very attentive and very pleasant. Started out with some of their cocktails, I had their new French 75 cocktail. It was very refreshing, but if you don't like gin, you won't like this, as the gin flavor is strong. My friend got the crushed pineapple martini. It was also very refreshing but also very sweet. I ended up getting just the shrimp skewers with seasonal vegetable and jasmine rice. It's damn tough to overcome a mediocre first impression especially when it's reinforced by second and third encounters that leave me yawning. I don't dislike Bonefish Grill, I just never expend any energy thinking about it. It's a middling chain and we'll just leave it at that. Until last night. I don't know what magician they had working the kitchen but my fish and chips were as light and tasty as any I've had. No leaden greasy aftertaste to remind me of my poor decision making two days later. Went to the Lawrenceville, NJ location. The food was excellent as always. Enjoyed the Bang Bang shrimp which is $7 on Wednesdays. Aso tried the 3 course menu for $20.90. Stumbled on this restaurant by accident while traveling through the area. Outstanding food with exceptional service! We got the AHI TUNA NACHOS (Diced raw ahi tuna, korean sesame-chili ponzu, scallions, pickled ginger, sesame seeds, wasabi aioli, torreados, wonton chips.) for an appetizer. One of the best appetizers I ever ate. A great flavor combination on so many levels. We orderes TOKYO TACO (Tuna, wasabi aioli, pickled ginger, cabbage, terunagi sauce, sesame seeds.) and the Scallop Taco Special. Both were absolutely fantastic! The tacos came with thin cut fries with special secret seasoning which to me seemed to be salt, sugar, and a little cinnamon. Once you start eating them you just can not stop. Even better than the food was our server, Karim, who made us all feel like we had been friends for years. The spinach was very good & fresh. Vince had the grouper fish special. He liked the fish but not the accompanying shrimp unfortunately. His sides were mashed potatoes & broccoli. If you're looking for authentic fresh seafood this isn't the place. Don't get me wrong. The place is clean great atmosphere and good service. But the food seemed like chain restaurant food. I enjoyed the fish tacos. But the New England Clam Chowder was basically cream of potato soup. It had no hint of clam or any seafood flavor at all. My guest had the same impression. Fairly priced and I would recommend as it wasn't a bad experience. But like I said, If you want a real down to earth seafood dinner where your calamari is freshly battered and fried rather than fried from a food supply frozen bag you need to go to a fresh seafood restaurant like the ones up and down the Jersey coast. read more
