My dinner at Texas Roadhouse was superb. I had the Filet Mignon with a plain sweet potato and steamed vegetables. I was offered the bread rolls which I turned down and also peanuts which I turned down. My meal was very filling even though the picture shows more could have fit onto the plate. I like my steaks cooked medium rare and a good steak house knows this means a warm red center. Texas Roadhouse got it right! I send a steak back if it's not cooked correctly. I am very particular. I have no complaint about the amazing steak I ate. when I visited. It was tasty. The vegetables were crunchy but cooked. The sweet potato was soft, sweet, and delicious. It didn't need butter, sour cream, or any other thing added except a little bit of salt. For those diners who want more food...they serve plenty. So I hope my photo doesn't turn someone off because it looks slim. As for the service - I was treated well. I normally get the family meals from Texas Roadhouse because they're pretty good and cost effective. But I was disappointed that at this location they were sold out of all but two and I didn't care for either one of those. So, we all ended up ordering our own meal but I think that worked out for the best. I personally have the beef tips with mashed potatoes and gravy and french fries and everything was good. I asked for the meat well done and most of it was... There were a few pink pieces that I fed to my dog. I also had the fried pickles appetizer and they forgot the horseradish but someone shared their ranch with me instead. Went to Texas Roadhouse in Idaho Falls last night. I asked for a salad (appetizer) and a smokehouse burger with cheddar cheese and requested it be cooked "medium". The server replied OK so medium will be a "warm pink center" I reply "medium means cook to 135° if the burger arrives to the table well done I'm going to send it back." Her reply was that "our cooks do not use meat thermometers" to prepare food. We waited 32 minutes. My salad AND my burger arrive simultaneously. Plate is served to me. Server walks away. I cut the burger in 1/2 and look to see a completely well done burger (literally charred) . The server came back to the table 1 minute later and I showed her the meal. I said this is well done. I asked for medium. She says Yep it sure is looks well done what do you want me to do? Would you like another one? I said I would like another one and I'd like it to be cooked medium or 135°.... She said well I'll just leave that one with you at the table so you can snack on it if you want while I go request them to make another one. I didn't snack on it. I just ate my salad. 27 minutes later burger number two arrives being delivered by what I assume to be a manager, followed by the server. He put the burger down in front of me and I say "please, don't go anywhere. I'd like to cut into this before you leave." Upon cutting into it, it is apparent that the burger is now raw on the inside. It's not rare. It's literally RAW...see picture below. I've now been at this restaurant for more than an hour (90 minutes) and have been served two pieces of meat that are completely unacceptable, and the raw one possibly illegal to serve. Also, my companion has finished her meal more than 35 minutes ago. I think it really says something about the service industry and restaurants when a steakhouse is unable to prepare a medium hamburger given more than an hour and two tries, and then they readily admit that they do not use meat thermometer to prepare their food. I will never be going to another Texas Roadhouse. It also took 3 attempts for them to remove the meal I DID NOT EAT from the bill. Attempt 2 was actually MORE money than the first bill was. I call the server over - I say "please explain how after you took a meal OFF my bill, the bill is now MORE than the original bill." She says "are you sure?" Look sweetheart, I'm a CPA, I think I can discern when a number is larger than another number. THIS is why I stay home and prepare all my own food. Being served over, under cooked beef that is overly salted at a "steakhouse" is complete nonsense. And they ADMIT they don't use temperature probes. The 'background' music is f-ing ridiculously LOUD. Asked if it could be turned down, but was told it must be played at 'Spinal Tap 11' at all times. So loud the waitress could NOT hear the customers place their orders, had to repeat several times. Steaks arrives cold from food runners that have no idea who ordered what which increases the likelihood the food cools. Again, the turd-stomping music prevents the customer from hearing what is on plate they are trying to serve. The baked potatoes are so salt-caked it eliminates the possibility of eating the potato skin. The salads come out half-wilted from sitting out of the cooler too long. I had the very best experience from our server Claire on a weekend during dinner time. The food was hot, correct and fast after we ordered. The only issue was the space between other tables which were a bit too tight as I do like a bit more of freedom when trying to get out of the table to step out a little. Everything was clean, well stocked and cleaned right away instead of being left out for a long time without anyone getting to it. We arrived as a party of three and checked in at 5:19 PM, being told there was about a 50-minute wait. That was fine initially. However, after being notified our table was ready, we were told to wait another 10 minutes. The entrance area was overcrowded, with guests jammed tightly together along the wall, and there was barely enough room for people to exit the restaurant -- an absolute safety concern. We were finally seated at 6:30 PM, over an hour after check-in. What followed was even worse. We were taken to a tiny table in the middle of an aisle, surrounded by booths on both sides. The chairs were uncomfortable and unstable, and the space felt cramped and unsanitary. I have a compressed and bulged back injury, which is one of the reasons we chose Texas Roadhouse -- their booth seating normally provides adequate support. We politely asked to move to an open booth nearby, explaining the medical reason, and were flatly denied. This left me in an impossible position: leave after waiting more than an hour without eating, or sit through dinner in severe pain. No guest should be put in that position, especially after clearly explaining a medical need. I've always enjoyed Texas Roadhouse in the past, but tonight's experience -- between the poor seating management, disregard for customer comfort, and overcrowded conditions -- was unacceptable. I hope management seriously reevaluates their seating policies and how they handle accessibility and customer care. read more

We were ready for a quick lunch on a busy weekend and got seated right away. We definitely got 5-star service. My niece ordered chicken fried steak which is huge and you can get either white or brown gravy. I got the bacon cheeseburger to split with the Hubbs, which was really good, but I did think it was a little salty. My side salad was perfectly ice cold with dressing on the side. The ribeye here is pretty decent. I've only had my steak overcooked, maybe once or twice. The servers are always very friendly, but it can get extremely busy on Friday and Saturday nights. The rice, baked potato, and sweet potato are all very yummy sides. If you are watching your cholesterol though, I would ask for no salt on your baked potato. However, the last few times I've gone our waitresses have been a bit unfriendly and there was one time where the entire time we were there we didn't get our drinks refilled even though we asked multiple times. We didn't see our waitress for 55 minutes. However, we understand that they were very busy and she did apologize for it, so we really do completely understand and don't hold it against her. The times we went after this experience were pretty bad. The steaks weren't cooked right and the service was not very good. We didn't get a lot of what we asked for and we were pretty unhappy with the way it turned out. The most recent time we went, about 4 days ago, our waiter Jon (I believe this was his name) MORE than made up for all of the previous experiences. He was on top of everything. Drinks, food, rolls, and everything in between. He was incredibly friendly and he made us feel very welcome. He didn't rush us and he was very patient with us the whole time. This was my first time visiting Texas Roadhouse and it was a very pleasant experience. We started with Ribs and Fries and they were really good. The ribs melted off the bone and the bread was also really good. I had originally wanted the prime rib but they were sold out. So I got the ribeye and was was pretty decent. Nothing special and slightly over cooked for being medium rare. The corn was good but the mashed potatoes weren't that great. Service was excellent and we were seated quickly. As always the food and service are good but the noise is deafening. You have to yell as loud as you can just to talk to others at your table because the music volume is so high. When the restaurant is at maximum capacity this creates a literal health hazard. After the manager "turned down" the volume of the music per our request my husband produced an app on his phone to measure the sound level. It came in at 84 decibels. Short bursts of sound 85 decibels or more will result in hearing loss. Sustained levels above 70 decibels will do the same. A WARNING to those with kids- Children are at even more risk as they are more susceptible to hearing loss due to loud noise. People who have have worked there said management increases the volume of the music to force people to leave their tables ASAP so they can refill them to maximize profit. This is so unfortunate. Our family used to love this restaurant. We will never return now. read more

Tuesday night, we made it clear we had a party of 9 and understood we had a 30 minute wait. They called us up later and had party of 7 written down, causing a 20 minute delay. After 50 minutes of waiting, they nearly seated a walk-in before us before we reminded them that we're still waiting. My party finally got to eat some Texan cuisine which was underwhelming to be matter of fact. I enjoy the atmosphere, aesthetic, and music, however paying for 9 steaks shouldn't have to be the ticket for a good time. Every two years we try to revisit a local favorite to catch up with the changes, particularly if we haven't been since the pandemic took hold. Today it was Texas Roadhouse, a place that has managed to keep their parking lot full ever since opening many years ago. We found it accessible and friendly, with the same food/drink choices and effusive service, but oddly downgraded. Peanuts used to be served in little buckets at each table and in the waiting area, but now comes of packets. Mashed potatoes come in small ceramic dishes on the plate and bacon bits in little disposable plastic cups. Both the marinated chicken and the ribeye steak were tasty but very salty. Caesar salad has no pepper grinder available, only the table shaker and the waitress's apology. Forks were cheapest quality cafeteria metal, very nicked and rough to hold, only one step above plastic. So, every two years we will continue to go back to restaurants that deserve a second or even third try. Texas Roadhouse is not going to be one we revisit. read more

A Foreign Substance (About 0.5 inch) came out from the food, Nov 12. 2021, When I was eating Caesar salad, I heard a crackling sound in my mouth. As soon as I spit a little bit out of my mouth, something like a half of inch of plastic-substances came out. For a moment, I had a terrifying thought that I might have eaten these substances, and I was so surprised that I went to the bathroom and spit out all the rest of my mouth, then rinsed it off with water. I was so startled by such this situation so that I forgot about the pain in my back molars for a while. I explained the situation to the server and the manager, when they first are explained the situation, their attitude did not show any signs of regret at all. When I handed over the foreign substance, it went through a verification process after that, and only then was handed a sentence of apology and they said they would take care of the dental treatment. I felt so bad, and I don't think I will eat here any more. They said they would contact me again, then I'll post the additional review after their response. read more

Currently visiting some family here in Idaho Falls so we decided to come have dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Aside from some unusual stares, everything was good for the most part. Hannah provided excellent service & was really patient with my grandfather, and we all enjoyed our meals. I ordered the sirloin & shrimp combo with the loaded mashed potatoes & a Caesar salad. The sirloin & shrimp were really good. The mashed potatoes were good as well but there was a bit too much cheese on top that wasn't melted. The Caesar salad was a little skimpy and when I asked for a few more croutons, the guy brought out a whole bowl full (not sure if he was trying to be funny, but whatever). The bread is amazing as everyone already knows and we shared the rattlesnake bites which were very good as well. I had a strawberry lemonade, my brother and grandpa had a glass of Pinot noir (which I tasted and really liked) and my mom had some Merlot. Again, overall, we enjoyed ourselves.
