D'railed is officially our happy place. If loving this place is wrong, we don't want to be right. The food? Unreasonably good. Like "why-am-I-still-thinking-about-this-days-later" good. The desserts? Absolute perfection. Dangerously delicious. Zero regrets. Ever. And the staff... I don't know who's in charge of hiring, but clearly the job description includes must be hilarious, friendly, and make you feel like family. Every visit feels like dinner mixed with a comedy show, and we are HERE for it. We've already been twice this year (rookie numbers, we know) and we're fully committed to celebrating many more birthdays, milestones, random Tuesdays, and "we just felt like it" nights here. 10/10 vibes. 10/10 food. 10/10 desserts. 11/10 people. We absolutely love D'railed and can't wait for the next excuse to come back

Belated Valentine's dinner! Ambiance was on point! Great good! Great service! Chocolate steak? Yes, please!

This was our first time here, we came to celebrate our anniversary. The location is on the smaller more intimate side so it's best to make a reservation. I found the decor quite cute and the place was very nice. Our server was attentive and had lots of information on the dishes and drinks that were served. The crab Louis salad was amazing. All of the seafood tasted fresh and not frozen. The dessert options were good and the one that we had was very tasty. For two people you're looking to spend about $400 or $500. So plan accordingly. It's worth it.

Notice the multiple fees. Large party is 5 or more.

The food is great, especially the tapas. Wagu steak was okay. A little mealy in the texture. The setting is very very intimate. There was a bathroom in our little side room. It's an old railroad bunkhouse. So we got to watch about 11 people go to the toilet while making eye contact with us since we were about 15 inches from them lol. Heads up they added over $100 in fees since it was Father's Day. We talked to the kitchen staff and they said they always add 6% for the kitchen and 22% for the servers. If you're going for business and your company has a tip policy you will likely have issues. It's not reversible. If you're going with clients or something you should likely look elsewhere. If you're going with friends or other foodies this isn't bad!

I hate to give this restaurant a 3 star when most of the food and the service was excellent. However I can't increase my rating because of my experience. A five star restaurant would not make the mistakes they made as I detail below! My spouse and I were celebrating our 45 wedding anniversary on the day of the anniversary. We planned this in advance and made sure we had reservations well in advance. Our reservations were for when they opened at 5pm. We had been told it was one of the best restaurants in the Idaho Falls general area. For the most part the food lived up to this hype. We asked our server, Lyn, about the various options and told her we liked to dine and take our time between courses. Our desire to dine and take time caused one of the problems with our meal. But it should not have. To be clear, we split each course so we could both taste and not eat too much. Being "stuffed" is not fun! As our first appetizer we ordered the Tuna with real wasabi. Upon the recommendation of Lyn we paired this with a French Chablis by Christophe Patrice - 2021. It was a good paring. Next we had the appetizer Avocado Crab Louis which also paired well with the French Chablis. We ordered a Baracchi Toscana red wine because we knew we wanted to finish with the A5 Wagyu and it would also go well with the Seabass. So we moved on to the Chilean Seabass as our third course. So far everything was five star excellent... food, wine, and service! No complaints or star reduction. Last we ordered the A5 Wagyu Filet Mignon as we had told our server earlier that we would. We knew it came with a bulb of roasted garlic. It was also represented on the menu with the garlic. Now we love roasted garlic. We also like our steak rare. But we were told the chef would cook the Wagyu as it was supposed to be cooked. We had no choice. At the time we felt this was arrogant, but the restaurant has a good rating, the chef supposedly knew how to prepare 5* food so we allowed ourselves to be persuaded. Big Mistake! When our A5 Wagyu Filet Mignon came out it was cooked medium, it was dry, and there was no roasted garlic. We asked where the roasted garlic was and were told they ran out. WHAT? Our server knew in advance we were going to order the A5 Wagyu and we also loved roasted garlic. Early on we told her we were looking forward to the garlic as it would really compliment the Wagyu. At the prices asked ($120.00) for this course we were extremely disappointed. This should not happen in a five star restaurant ever! Over cooked dry beef and no garlic!!! The garlic would have moistened the beef. On our 45th wedding anniversary! We arrived when they opened! To be told they ran out of what we wanted when we made it clear early on is just plain bad planning? There is no excuse! Garlic is not so expensive that they can't roast enough for the evening. We were so disappointed and we told our server Lyn that we were. We did not send back the beef. After all the chef was arrogant enough to say he would cook it to his specifications the way it should be cooked and we had no say in the matter. Well, we will not return! And we will not recommend this restaurant. Being told we have no say in how what we order is cooked when we have definite preferences is just bad business in my opinion. My spouse and I have dined in fine restaurants all over the world, some of them being 3* Michelin restaurants. d'Railed in not a fine restaurant in my opinion as a fine restaurant would not make these kinds of stupid mistakes which anger customers.

We were in a motorcycle trip up through Idaho and back down to Utah. I, as per usual, was put in charge of finding a place to eat near our hotel. I decided on D'railed. I love trying restaurants I can't go to anywhere else. I also love a good steak. This place is interesting as it is in an older home turned restaurant. Since we were riding in the heat all day, we opted for inside with AC. It is small, but it wasn't too cramped. The decor is fun and the staff is really nice. They were also fun. They joked around and had good conversations with us but still kept up with our food. This is a typical high-end steak place. The steaks come alone, and you order sides for the table. The brussel sprouts were so good that we all gobbled them up! They were the usual balsamic binegar and honey, but they also had a rouch of maple flavor from the maple syrup they added. It was a new combo for me but a welcome one. The crab deviled eggs were interesting. I've never had them before, and they were quite good. My husband and I both got the filet mignon and asked for medium rare. They came out juicy, with great grill marks and they were cooked evenly throughout to our medium rare request. If I'm ever in the area again I will 100% try and go back to this place. It was yummy! Highly recommend!

It's hard to believe that a town the size of Idaho Falls can support a restaurant like this place. The food was phenomenal. The steak was A5 Wagyu. They even had Kobe (VERY few restaurants in the US are able to source actual Kobe).

    Wonderful place settings.

Recommend you make reservations. I did mine at 5:00 pm for a 5:30 dinner. Small place that used to be a railroad crew bunkhouse. Very nice interior, clearly a fine dining place. I took a picture of the table settings for you. Drinks were good, well made and a generous poor. Receptionist was quick. Brought us to the table and the Server replaced her to take our drink order. Returned with the drinks and took our dinner order. Hint; read the small menu book, it explains the whole concept. Was shocked such a small place had Japanese A5 Waygu but they do. I've had it before so today decided on Australian Waygu in sirloin form. Also ordered the house salad with in-house ranch dressing. My side was the lobster fried rice. The place filled up but service did not slow that we co in is tell. Verdict: The steak was superb, tender and very flavorful. Temp was perfect and the serving dish came with half a roasted garlic head and a swirl of balsamic and both were perfect for the meat. Suggest if you like garlic, squeeze the roasted cloves onto your plate and mash them with your knife. You can then use them like butter on your steak. Lobster rice was good, not great as I never could identify any pieces of lobster but the flavor was there. My wife had the Australian Waygu filet which she said was the best steak she ever received from a restaurant. Desert was the banana foster offering, just make sure you are hungry. We shared it and still had a third of it leftover. Topping the meal off when the server brought my check and card was a long stem red rose for my Wife. Nice touch.

Original: My review for this place is not current. I had a…read morepretty bad experience here a few years back so we will never go again. WHAT HAPPENED: When they're busy, they don't have enough servers on. This was something we had already been warned about, and got to witness first hand. Also, without informing us, they charge for soda refills! Seems the server was padding the check, thanks to two teenagers with us, and they drink soda. I had a couple of beers that I expected to be charged for, but my other half's coffee refills?, mann come-on. The place is overly priced to begin with, the food was not fantastic. They were riding on their legacy name. Surviving by tourist seasons of the unsuspecting. I gave it two stars because the food wasn't bad. I can say that the experience was not worth the bill. I did see the prices before we ordered and did not hesitate. However, those prices raised my expectations. To top it all, the atmosphere is dark and cramped. Never again! It might seem petty to not give a second chance if you think that only the bill is the reason. The lack of transparency, price to quality, and shoddy service combined. I think there are equally if not better restaurants in Idaho Falls. It's not worth the price here. UPDATE: with a vengeance! Mitch and Justin at The SnakeBite showed me just how much things can change under new management/ownership. My first review stated that it was a couple of years ago, lol Mitch helped me sort out the timeline, and it was actually close to 6 years ago. Guess I'm a little out of the loop, because I was informed that 100Proof Hospitality bought the restaurant about 4 years ago, long after I had sworn the place off forever. I know some might not appreciate an old experience popping up like brand new in a review. I get that in hindsight, but these new owners didn't flinch, and they are savvy--I tell you that. They turned someone (me) who would've never returned, into their regular customer. To start, the two teens have grown, it was only the two of us, which didn't matter because they no longer charge for refills under the new ownership. We were hosted by..well, a young man who was a little less than personable. He wasn't bad, typical in fact, but after experiencing the management and our server--the rest of the team outshines him a bit. It was late lunch, so they were still busy, but had enough open seating for the two of us. Laney--our server, is the coolest lady to ever walk the planet. She was hustling, laughing, smiling and talking with everybody. Just magnificent ambiance. She handled my undecidedness in style, answering every single one of my questions with complete honesty. "So if I put pepperjack on this, will it ruin the flavor of the cheese sauce." Direct eye contact, slowly nodding with a cringing look, "yeahhh probably." Great pallet to boot cuz she was so right. The Blue SnakeBite Burger--mann that sauce!, is what "zesty blue" is all about! I also got a Stuffed Mushrooms appetizer. I hope I remember this exactly, but it's basically a spinach and artichoke dippy sauce stuffed inside of two very large portobello crowns, a fantastic drizzle and roasted red peppers on top! I would eat those every meal for the rest of my life! My other half got the Haddock with Waffle Fries, added Coconut Shrimp and Salad. She was too busy eating to tell me what she thought lol--loved it all. We sat, had met the dazzling Laney( who can bring people back all herself) ordered, and--get this--I ordered through Laney, a beer from the bar. The bar shortly later poured the wrong beer (think person ordered wrong), which was the same draft that I ordered. So over to our table comes the smiling and booming bartender with the beer out stretched to me, "You want a free beer"--well, yeah. The kicker: Nobody knew yet, including management, we were the "2nd look" couple. SnakeBite and 100Proof Hospitality, unknowingly pulled off a mic drop. Prices slightly higher than chains, and worth every cent! We will be back. So should you!

It's the perfect spot for hearty, traditional Midwestern comfort food. After all, how can you visit Potato Country without enjoying at least one perfectly baked potato? A little fun (and mostly useless) fact: Potatoes are typically harvested once a year in the fall and stored in underground bunkers. The ones you usually buy in stores are often nearly a year old. And if a potato starts to sprout? It simply becomes part of the next season's crop. The moment you walk in, it feels like stepping into a time machine.
