Original: My review for this place is not current. I had a pretty bad experience here a few years back so we will never go again. WHAT HAPPENED: When they're busy, they don't have enough servers on. This was something we had already been warned about, and got to witness first hand. Also, without informing us, they charge for soda refills! Seems the server was padding the check, thanks to two teenagers with us, and they drink soda. I had a couple of beers that I expected to be charged for, but my other half's coffee refills?, mann come-on. The place is overly priced to begin with, the food was not fantastic. They were riding on their legacy name. Surviving by tourist seasons of the unsuspecting. I gave it two stars because the food wasn't bad. I can say that the experience was not worth the bill. I did see the prices before we ordered and did not hesitate. However, those prices raised my expectations. To top it all, the atmosphere is dark and cramped. Never again! It might seem petty to not give a second chance if you think that only the bill is the reason. The lack of transparency, price to quality, and shoddy service combined. I think there are equally if not better restaurants in Idaho Falls. It's not worth the price here. UPDATE: with a vengeance! Mitch and Justin at The SnakeBite showed me just how much things can change under new management/ownership. My first review stated that it was a couple of years ago, lol Mitch helped me sort out the timeline, and it was actually close to 6 years ago. Guess I'm a little out of the loop, because I was informed that 100Proof Hospitality bought the restaurant about 4 years ago, long after I had sworn the place off forever. I know some might not appreciate an old experience popping up like brand new in a review. I get that in hindsight, but these new owners didn't flinch, and they are savvy--I tell you that. They turned someone (me) who would've never returned, into their regular customer. To start, the two teens have grown, it was only the two of us, which didn't matter because they no longer charge for refills under the new ownership. We were hosted by..well, a young man who was a little less than personable. He wasn't bad, typical in fact, but after experiencing the management and our server--the rest of the team outshines him a bit. It was late lunch, so they were still busy, but had enough open seating for the two of us. Laney--our server, is the coolest lady to ever walk the planet. She was hustling, laughing, smiling and talking with everybody. Just magnificent ambiance. She handled my undecidedness in style, answering every single one of my questions with complete honesty. "So if I put pepperjack on this, will it ruin the flavor of the cheese sauce." Direct eye contact, slowly nodding with a cringing look, "yeahhh probably." Great pallet to boot cuz she was so right. The Blue SnakeBite Burger--mann that sauce!, is what "zesty blue" is all about! I also got a Stuffed Mushrooms appetizer. I hope I remember this exactly, but it's basically a spinach and artichoke dippy sauce stuffed inside of two very large portobello crowns, a fantastic drizzle and roasted red peppers on top! I would eat those every meal for the rest of my life! My other half got the Haddock with Waffle Fries, added Coconut Shrimp and Salad. She was too busy eating to tell me what she thought lol--loved it all. We sat, had met the dazzling Laney( who can bring people back all herself) ordered, and--get this--I ordered through Laney, a beer from the bar. The bar shortly later poured the wrong beer (think person ordered wrong), which was the same draft that I ordered. So over to our table comes the smiling and booming bartender with the beer out stretched to me, "You want a free beer"--well, yeah. The kicker: Nobody knew yet, including management, we were the "2nd look" couple. SnakeBite and 100Proof Hospitality, unknowingly pulled off a mic drop. Prices slightly higher than chains, and worth every cent! We will be back. So should you! read more

If I was fishing all day on the Snake River, this place would absolutely HIT! (....do I fish? No. But I imagine if I did, SnakeBite would be peak post fishing day food!) if you're a fried pickle fan, you have to order these! The SnakeBite is very popular and can have about 15-30 mins wait on weekends so make sure to account for that. The servers were very friendly and helpful. Borrowing an expression from Guy Fieri, this was a trip to flavor town! I walked in on Tues evening and got seated right away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's part sports bar, part restaurant and has outside seating for a neighborhood cafe feel for when the weather is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu consists of a decent selection of appetisers, burgers, "handhelds", salads, pastas and entrees. I ordered the Candied Sriracha Salmon. It comes on a bed of "snakebite" rice with grilled veggies. Since I missed lunch I was afraid it would take awhile to get my food because they were decently busy. I was pleasantly surprised! I was shortly presented with a freshly grilled, decent sized piece of salmon exactly as described in the menu. I was pleasantly surprised to see the grilled veggies only consisted of three onion pieces (I hate onions). The rest were mushrooms, red peppers and yellow and green squash. The salmon was grilled to the specifications I had ordered (through). It had a nice crisp on the outside but was tender and juicy inside, despite being cooked the way I like it! It was topped with a small dollop of lemon herbed butter and microgreens. The outside was deliciously but not overly coated with the candied sriracha. Oh my yummmmm. I ate every single bit of it, which is a rarity. For a drink I chose water with lemon. The waitress was attentive and never let my glass get under halfway empty. The Hell's Canyon chicken sandwich is delicious! I'm a newbie to blue cheese, but the house green chili blue cheese is amazing.

On my first day here in Idaho falls I stopped here for a nice tuna melt and the service was very pleasant.

Tried it again today. Still not that impressed. Tried the tri tip sandwich today. Very dry tasteless meat and small serving size. This visit just solidifies that we will not be back. read more

I'm super sad about the dramatic decline of a beloved IF restaurant. Ever since the new owners have taken over it's been nothing but downhill. Let me start with the fact that the food is very good....That being said, the waiter we had was pretty terrible. I ordered a soda and after 5 min or so all the mixed drinks came out and he asked if we needed anything else., I told hime I would like my soda and he had forgotten I had ordered it. when he came back he brought 2 waters and no soda again. Finally brought it the third time, had to be asked to refill it halfway through the meal and thought he was funny, but just came off rude and pompous. At the end, he would not let me touch the card reader so I was forced to just give a 20% tip, which I absolutely would not have given him. OMG! Went for a burger as others posted they were great. Ended up ordering the Salmon sandwich (the one without peppers) but I wanted the pesto so they gladly gave me a side! Had the side salad to substitute fried. The salmon! OMG! Grilled perfectly, seasoned exceptionally. Totally unexpected large slab of salmon on the hoagie roll! It's was so good I didn't want my experience to end! Hubby had the Ho(something) chicken sandwich and he raved about it!
