They do charge a small fee for recycling certain items, but that fee will be found at any place you go to recycle said items as well. Point is it's not like they're charging you a fee you wouldn't find elsewhere. The best part about this place, however, is they have a community drop off area that takes basic items like flattened cardboard boxes, cans, bottles, etc. for FREE! The staff is very attentive too. Basically the second you pull up, the staff will be there to assist you with any items you need help with recycling. I have been only once but they seemed to be a little bit disorganized with their method. I did not…read moremind so much that I had to back in to use the scale, but the guy backing up in front of me had a large load of steel and could not see to back up causing a very stressful few minutes for me because he almost did not stop twice. The first time the off duty policeman working there stopped him from cradhing into my front end, going backwards, the second time I was watching and honked my horn at him. It was a close one as I had nowhere else to go in order to avoid a collision. Good thing I had a horn. Oh and the website says they close at 6:30 and they mean it. If you're in line any later than 6 you may as well just wait until the following day because there are too many folks trying to get in when they should be calling it a night. The off duty cop was pretty cool. I really didn't have any interaction with anyone else because I was with someone who went there regularly so I didn't collect the money or anything but they had fair prices. I would say they are priced competitively because I usually go to a place closer to home and the prices were better at action at least the first time. Hopefully they'll be consistent. I'll reevaluate as needed here in my review the more I go. So far so good. Just a disaster for that poor cop to have to deal with directing traffic in the most confusing of ways possible! Maybe if they had signs too it would be more organized?
