I began my karate career at TKI as an adult in the early 1980s and received my blue belt at the time. Then life got in the way and I discontinued my training. I wanted to achieve my goal of earning a brown belt so I began checking out several schools in the DFW area last summer. After some investigation, I decided that the best school was still TKI and I now drive 60 miles roundtrip 3 days a week to class. This is not a black belt factory, but a place to truly learn all facets of karate. The instructors are very professional and make sure that every student receives individual attention. I began my Journey in Martial Arts approximately 30 years ago. I found Texas Karate Institute when one of my instructors began teaching there 15 years ago. When training at other facilities it is difficult to understand how beneficial it can be to see other styles and systems.
