I have attended and trained at Ahn's Tae Kwon Do for over 12 years starting in 2004. I cannot begin to express how big of an impact Masters H.P and Chun Ahn have made on my life. Gaining self-confidence, self-esteem, discipline, and respect barely scratches the surface of the skills and life lessons that I've obtained during my tenure at Ahn's. On a physical level, I can guarantee that Master Ahn provides an excellent workout regimen that is shaped by one's own physical ability. Master Ahn is able to quickly find what your physical and mental limits are and will push you to keep surpassing those limits. He will not compare you to any other student and will find a different way for everyone to succeed. If your goal is to be a healthy athlete, then Master Ahn will tailor your workout to be more strenuous and complex. If your goal is improve your balance, flexibility, and coordination, then Master Ahn will provide a completely different style of workout to match your goal. Ahn's TKD truly shines in improving the mental strength of their students, especially those starting from a young age. I started at the age of 7 and was able to experience a multitude of situations that any normal student wouldn't be able to in a traditional public school education. For example, Ahn's allows students to create healthy and competitive relationship with their peers. This environment is created by students learning techniques and forms together, practicing kicks and warming up together, and fighting against each other in controlled sparring. This means that students are able to foster instant and meaningful relationships with their peers in an environment that promotes personal advancement in a literal (through belt tests), physical and mental sense. As both a student and an instructor, I both created for myself and witnessed the creation of many long lasting friendships and relationships at Ahn's Tae Kwon Do. As a returning student to Tae Kwon do after a 35 year break, I find Ahns Tae Kwon do to be very challenging and refreshing . Master Ahns classes challenge even the fittest of individuals. Classes start with stretches and progress to excercises that gradually get your heart rate up to excercises to keep it up. This class is not only good for the body, but the mind as well. I now have more energy throughout the day and find myself looking forward to attending class each day. Ahn's Taekwondo has been a fantastic place for my daughter to not only learn the martial art but also to develop confidence. I've been going to the adult class at Ahn's Tae Kwon Do for just over 2 years and I love it. It's a great workout that also teaches self defense and discipline (and is a great stress reliever after a hard day at work). One thing I like about the adult class is that it's more of a size and skill level designation, than an age requirement. The ages in the class run from 13 to 60+. The skill levels run from no belt to multiple degree black belt. I find it motivating and challenging to train with the various skill levels and ages. The kids are fast and will keep you on your toes :-) I have to mention that the kids are all amazing (I only call them kids because I'm over 40). Master Ahn doesn't just teach Tae Kwon Do, he teaches manners, discipline, hard work, and confidence. These are the smartest, most polite, awesome young people I've ever met. Ahn`s tkd has made such a positiv inpact on my life. I started taking classes there in my childhood and learned positiv lessons that has followed me thru my life. I earned my black belt before I moved back to Norway. At Ahns you not only learn Tae Kwon Do, but disiplin and respect, pride in what you do, pride in achivements, and selfworth, inner strenght wich has followed and helped me many times over the years, espesially in my teen years, I had gotten the inner strength and confident not to buckle down to peer pressure wich can be brutal. When I started at Ahn`s tkd, my school grades where low, and typical sports like football, baseball, soccer was not for me . I started at Ahn`s tkd and one of the patches one could earn on the uniform was an educational patch where you had to prove by reportcard over a period of time that you had good grades. Because a lot of my new friends had this patch on their uniform it made me also work harder in school to earn and recive the patch, and because this patch could be taking away from you if the grades slipped wich would be a real let down and embarassment it kept my grades higher then they would have been without it. The belts you wear, you have earned thru skills and acomplishments, the patches on your uniform have come there by doing hard work. Master Ahn has a great way with all children, every child on this earth is different and he sees every kid for who they are and he truly wants to see them suceed, and we felt that he truly cared. He gives each kid the motivation they need to be and do the best they can be. I loved going there so much that I used to go five or six days a week, it was kind of a stress relife to be there, a sanctuary from all the day to day problems and stress, a place where I could be my self. Today I am a parent and I try to pass along what Master and Grand Master Ahn taught me to my daughter age 10. She is going to start Tae Kwon Do after the summer by her own wanting to. I really would recomend any parents of signing in their child to Ahn`s tkd, and while your at it, sign your self inn( now a days they say sitting around is just as harmfull as smoking is) . Not only will you or your child get a good workout and meet new friends, you get so much more, and if you enroll toghether with your child, your bonding relationship with your kid will go to another level, I speak of own experiance. There are many Tae Kwon Do studios around, but there is only one Master H.P Ahn. Enrolled my two boys (ages 7 & 8) about 2 weeks ago here. My husband and I are very happy with the program and how Master Ahn manages his students! His background and experience with children prove well, cause he read my two boys like a book! He has excellent judgment on how to work with kids. I see a significant improvement in behavior from my two previously disagreeable boys. I really give credit to Ahn's Tae Kwon Do. The structure of the class is very efficient and organized, which I feel helps my boys with discipline. It's really impressive how mature they've become in just two weeks. They respond better to commands, and are just more agreeable in general. They also love the class! My 7 year old cried at the free trial class, but is now excited for each class. I'm glad the class is set up to have goals. The boys are excited to earn their belts! My niece and nephews have all been enrolled in Ahn's Tae Kwon Do, and have all enjoyed it! Compared to Dallas Martial Arts, Ahn's Tae Kwon Do is the genuine real deal. Master Ahn takes Tae Kwon Do seriously and values the skills he teaches. Other places act more like a babysitting service and pretty much give belts away without truly learning or earning it! I would recommend Ahn's Tae Kwon Do for parents who really want their children to learn or enhance their martial arts skills, or to improve focus and discipline in their children.
