My parents believed that starting taekwondo at an early age would build my self control, confidence and could be a good past in my college application for getting a black belt. At first my dad showed me a video I really wanted to do it because it looked fun. Then when I got my first white belt I was very happy. Ever since then I have loved taekwondo because you learn a lot of things like kicks, forms, and get new belts so you can build your way to black belt. Sometimes you even get to play games at the end of class because of your hard work. Later after about 4 years, I gained more friends and I started to realize that not everything is easy in life. I used to want to quit but I'm happy that I didn't because I gave up too easy and I thought of the wrong choices. Now I know that if I wanted to accomplish my black belt I needed to work hard. September 24 2026 was the day I finally got a black belt. I was very scared but also very happy because 6 years of hard work is a long time and I have been waiting for that moment. Since then when my older brother got his black belt it looked like it was not hard. At last walking up to the instructors giving them 5 boards to hold for me to break with my foot. As I aced all of the kicks, Grand Master Auton blew of the dust from my belt and put on my official black belt I was so happy i couldn't stop smiling. Samuel's journey to black belt…read more I started as a white belt at this Dojo and immediately i fell in love with taekwondo because here I could learn a bunch of new workouts and kicks and learn to be a black belt. At white and high white belt, i learned Korean numbers 1-8 and I started learning stances such as, horseback riding stance, forward stance and back stance. At yellow and high yellow belt I started to learn a lot more forms and kicks and stances. It was starting to get tough but I really wanted to be a black belt just like I see all the instructors are, so From green all the way to red belt, I committed to taekwondo and did the same routine every day, and I started to notice that when i did my sit-ups, back-ups and push-ups they started to feel lighter and easier and that is what I told the instructors and they said, Its because your putting in the effort and committing into coming to taekwondo class without giving up. When i reached high red belt, I was happy because I was 2 belts away from black belt but then I stopped coming frequently because it was starting to get boring doing the same thing every day, but I thought to myself, why would I push myself this far and yet stopped coming, so I started coming when to grading did white through red belt forms and then I did my high red belt and because I was so focused and determined to get my deputy black belt I got it and moved up to the next rank. At deputy black belt, it was much much harder than all the other belts i had completed because in this belt since you would test for black belt they would correct you for every single mistake you made to your kicks and especially stances but I knew if i wanted to get my black belt I needed to commit to it. I had to go to every single lower-belt class and it was tiring, after that I started on perfecting my 5 kicks for graduation. Tornado kick, roundhouse kick,sidekick, reverse turn axe kick,and jump side kick. So i commited and came everyday and was finally ready for testing. During testing when i finished 4 of my kicks and i was on my final one jump sidekick. Sir grandmaster Atoun told me to jump over 4 people and in my brain I had self-doubt but he told me if I doubt you I'm going to hurt myself so i jumped in the air while the cameraman was taking pictures of me in the air and i broke my wooden board while not hurting myself. I got my black belt and was really happy that I got it after 5 years. In those 5 years, I had improved so much in taekwondo but not only in that in my daily life too .I'm so happy that I came to this dojo. Samuel Y

took me a while to finally write a review! read this for a genuine review from a former decade long…read moremember here. i was with the white tiger family for a very long time, went from white belt to a 2nd dan black belt here and then went off to do tkd at the collegiate level afterwards. i think the best part of white tiger overall for me has always been the people there. just such caring instructors and staff and some of my best friends (even to this day), have been made on the mat. also, some of the most fun trips i've ever done have come out of taekwondo too, from new york, austin, seattle, and miami to the kukkiwon headquarters in korea. so many experiences come from the tournaments and detours you'll take as a tkd athlete in life. in general, white tiger has always excelled in teaching poomsae (tkd forms) as well as in tkd demonstration. it's also a very well connected school in terms of the broader network of tkd schools and masters. as such, there's lots of opportunities to participate in fun tournaments and events and really level up your skills. i genuinely think it's worth it for anyone interested to give it a shot and, who knows, it might just become one of the most memorable things you do in your life. just like it was for me! :)

We were not communicated that the child had to be dropped there and parents can't even see them perform at practice. This is such an important piece of information that should have been communicated. We took our entire family for this and had planned out the day accordingly. We tried a couple of the schools, but Warrior was the most accomodating and really tried to help him over what had happened previously and to make him feel a part of the Warrior family. I've found that they have the best balance between "stand up" training and "on the ground" work, done in a safe, controlled environment, with great instructors who really work with the kids to create a positive environment. The training includes an emphasis on respect, not only for the instructors at the academy, but for parents, school teachers and their peers, helping them to become "bully proof" without becoming bullies themselves. Additionally, parents can train for free, in classes set up for them. My wife participates in the stand up and grappling classes. You'd be hard pressed to find a place with a better set of instructors (the new McKinney instructor is a BJJ master from Brazil).

We tried this for a month, after the 1st month, after the child gets used to the classes (which seems to be over crowded) they hit you with all that I mentioned above.
