Unfair Treatment & Unethical Charges - Urgent Resolution Needed…read more I feel completely taken advantage of by Master Kang's martial arts program. As a single mother of three, I was looking for a safe and reliable aftercare solution for my children. When I enrolled my 6-, 7-, and 8-year-olds, Master Kang promised me a "discounted price" and a "free uniform." However, I quickly realized that the hidden costs--belt tests, miscellaneous fees, and other unexpected expenses--added up significantly. From the start, I made it clear that I would be unable to stay in class with my children due to my work schedule. Master Kang assured me that they would be watched after their lessons. Yet, on multiple occasions, I arrived to find my 6-, 7-, and 8-year-olds outside the dojo, completely unattended and unsupervised. This was not only irresponsible but also dangerous. I trusted this program to provide structure and safety for my children, but instead, I found them running around unsupervised, putting them at risk. Another issue arose with the attendance stickers that are given out to eventually earn achievement medals. Since I wasn't present, Master Kang would hand these stickers directly to my children, who, as small kids naturally do, often lost them before I arrived. When I asked for replacements, he refused, saying they were "too expensive" because they were imported. How is it acceptable to deny a child a simple sticker, knowing they are young and likely to misplace it? This lack of compassion and flexibility was incredibly frustrating. Then, life took a turn. I lost my job and could no longer afford the program. I informed Master Kang and requested to cancel my membership, explaining that I had to move out of state. The school demanded proof of my move, so I provided a lease and a utility bill. However, they rejected my documentation over a minor technicality--listing my name at my new address still tied to my old driver's license. Despite my best efforts, they refused to accept even my utility start-of-service notice as valid proof. How was I supposed to provide a finalized bill for a future address before even moving in? This requirement is not only unreasonable but feels like an intentional barrier to keep charging me. Now, they continue to bill me, even though I have done everything in my power to prove that I have moved and can no longer attend. At this point, I feel deceived, exploited, and robbed in broad daylight. Where is the integrity? Where is the humanity? Master Kang is a businessman and a family man--yet he is treating a struggling mother with zero empathy, prioritizing profits over basic fairness. I am demanding that my membership be canceled immediately. I refuse to pay for a service I cannot use, especially one that has already failed to provide the safe environment I was promised. If this matter is not resolved, I will have no choice but to escalate this through consumer protection agencies, public reviews, and legal channels. I hope Master Kang and his team choose to do the right thing. But Master Ahn is not only a taekwondo instructor but also has been a dear friend to all his students. He was very supportive of us when our other son had been diagnosed with leukemia and was very understanding about our situation. took me a while to finally write a review! read this for a genuine review from a former decade long…read moremember here. i was with the white tiger family for a very long time, went from white belt to a 2nd dan black belt here and then went off to do tkd at the collegiate level afterwards. i think the best part of white tiger overall for me has always been the people there. just such caring instructors and staff and some of my best friends (even to this day), have been made on the mat. also, some of the most fun trips i've ever done have come out of taekwondo too, from new york, austin, seattle, and miami to the kukkiwon headquarters in korea. so many experiences come from the tournaments and detours you'll take as a tkd athlete in life. in general, white tiger has always excelled in teaching poomsae (tkd forms) as well as in tkd demonstration. it's also a very well connected school in terms of the broader network of tkd schools and masters. as such, there's lots of opportunities to participate in fun tournaments and events and really level up your skills. i genuinely think it's worth it for anyone interested to give it a shot and, who knows, it might just become one of the most memorable things you do in your life. just like it was for me! :)

We were not communicated that the child had to be dropped there and parents can't even see them perform at practice. This is such an important piece of information that should have been communicated. For our kids, we wanted them to really learn something. We wanted them to earn their increases in rank. We wanted them to learn traditional fighting as well as ground fighting. I talked with Mr. Sabastian on the phone and scheduled a face-to-face free 30 minutes orientation. I explained my goals and why I chose Muay Thai/ Kick Boxing. Mr. Sebastian recommended I try a class and decide. he said I can attend as many classes as I want, free of charge, and then decide if I want to join or not. I knew then that Samurai International cares about teaching martial arts and they care about the students and not just making money. I tried the Muay Thai class, I loved it, and signed up the following week. About the classes, we have three Muay Thai classes a week. each class has a different instructor. we learn different things in each class but after a few classes, you start feeling how everything complements each other and end up being this nice flow. We do stretches, warms ups, shadow boxing, bag work, pad work, sparring drills, and advance student spar. Every class is different, fun, and challenging. The instructors respect and care about every single student and students respect and care about each other. It's a great supportive learning environment. So, if you are interested in learning martial arts to lose weight, get in shape, or want to compete. This is the place for you, all levels are welcome, and I highly recommend you give it a shot.

Class sizes may vary from 8-10 (when I've attended on Saturdays) to 2-4 (when I go Thursday nights). Age ranges generally run from 30s to 60s (with parents occasionally bringing young children with them). Suitable for a wide range of skill levels - often new students working alongside folks who've been doing this for years. Focus is generally on health and wellness, not marital arts (though Ch'en style classes do get into push hands). All major families of Tai Chi are taught, along with Qigong. Having studied several different places here in the Richardson area, this is the school I continue to go back to.
