They do offer private lessons, and with Master Lee's background, whose a 6th-degree black belt who trained under renown taekwondo instructor Grandmaster Yim, you won't find better in the DFW-area! Lastly, they're great about communication and showing care for their students' well-being and progress. Overall, I would definitely recommend their gym to anyone I know no matter where you live in the DFW-area!

I help tie their belts, show them their forms, and cheer them on during testing. I remember when I was like them, looking up to the black belts. Now it's my turn to inspire others and keep working hard. In the end, getting a black belt isn't about being the best fighter. It's about doing your best every day and becoming the best version of yourself. At the US Taekwondo Academy, I learned that I'm stronger than I think, and that hard work and respect can help me reach any goal. That's what being a black belt really means to me. I have attended and trained at Ahn's Tae Kwon Do for over 12 years starting in 2004. I cannot begin…read moreto express how big of an impact Masters H.P and Chun Ahn have made on my life. Gaining self-confidence, self-esteem, discipline, and respect barely scratches the surface of the skills and life lessons that I've obtained during my tenure at Ahn's. On a physical level, I can guarantee that Master Ahn provides an excellent workout regimen that is shaped by one's own physical ability. Master Ahn is able to quickly find what your physical and mental limits are and will push you to keep surpassing those limits. He will not compare you to any other student and will find a different way for everyone to succeed. If your goal is to be a healthy athlete, then Master Ahn will tailor your workout to be more strenuous and complex. If your goal is improve your balance, flexibility, and coordination, then Master Ahn will provide a completely different style of workout to match your goal. Whatever your goal may be, Master Ahn is incredibly capable of providing an individualized experience that is suited for students of all ages. Ahn's TKD truly shines in improving the mental strength of their students, especially those starting from a young age. I started at the age of 7 and was able to experience a multitude of situations that any normal student wouldn't be able to in a traditional public school education. For example, Ahn's allows students to create healthy and competitive relationship with their peers. This environment is created by students learning techniques and forms together, practicing kicks and warming up together, and fighting against each other in controlled sparring. This means that students are able to foster instant and meaningful relationships with their peers in an environment that promotes personal advancement in a literal (through belt tests), physical and mental sense. As both a student and an instructor, I both created for myself and witnessed the creation of many long lasting friendships and relationships at Ahn's Tae Kwon Do. Tae Kwon Do was the defining part of my childhood, and I would not be the person I am today without Tae Kwon Do. It certainly takes time to reap the rewards and see the benefits of enrolling at Ahn's, but I can guarantee that Master Ahn provides the best environment to allow you to succeed, learn, and grow.

We were early so we had to wait and were ushered to take a seat in the lobby/spectating area. The chairs are poorly put together and are extremely unstable. Some more than others. The floor to the practice area looked gross and dirty. Our kiddos feet turned black just in the short time being there. Once the class started the women was really good with the kids and got them talking. But the content she was teaching was scattered and not well organized. She mentioned specific words that should be used which was great. BUT when coming to teach them the hits/kicks you can use to defend yourself she didn't teach them where they could hit their attacker. Just ushered them over to hit or kick the bag. The skills she touched on was never put together for how to defend themselves from strangers who might be attackers. The class was extremely short when you take away the chit chat from the kids. (We get kids mindless chatting) Once class was over the instructor informed all the parents that she would be sending a follow up email about what the kids learned and how to apply it to their life. That was NEVER done. (It's not April 8th and class was March 30th. No it did not go to spam.) I feel like the communication was poor. Leading up to the class we didn't get any reminder email until about a hour before the class started and nothing else. The idea of the class is great. It was poorly executed however.
