REVIEW OF RONIN FITNESS OF RICHARDSON…read more If you're committed to working hard to improve your health, strength, and endurance, Lex Ronin, Ronin Fitness of Richardson, is your trainer! I've been training with Lex Ronin since July/August of 2019 and couldn't be happier with the results achieved. Lex continues to be great to work with, even going virtual during the COVID-19 pandemic shut down of 2020, mixing routines up to stay fresh and interesting while having the maximum benefit toward my fitness goals. I began as a 67-year-old in reasonably good health who, in the previous year, had lost 60 lbs. and needed to firm up. I also wanted to build up (not bulk up) my upper body strength. I would highly recommend Lex. Meet with him. Discuss your goals and his methods. Take a trial workout session. Then make your decision. You won't be disappointed. This is the longest I've continued in ANY formal exercise/training program and plan to continue for the foreseeable future. Mark Lewis 8/21/2024

Not going to lie, the first few sessions kicked my butt and my lactic threshold was definitely pushed but each week got better and better! I have gone to various gyms/classes on and off over the years and done lots of cardio and work on the machines but now I know that what I really needed was a more classic approach to fitness that Lex provided perfectly. I've noticed immediate changes to my body and feel stronger and more confident than I ever have before. I highly recommend working with Lex if you want to make some changes!

When I first became a member here, they had just opened the doors and everything seemed to be cool…read more Overtime I realized this was just going to be another uncapped 24 hour fitness in the making. The staff never gave me any issues, but I think the company set them up for failure for not having protocol for certain things like letting members into the private sauna, or whether or not certain things were out of service or even the upkeep of the bathrooms, which was the nail in the coffin for me The sauna in the bathroom hardly worked, and even though I had the upgraded membership to use the infrared on it, they were never available. The cold plunge's were not kept well and it was just too much hassle to try and use those extra amenities when there's barely anyone there to support The gym floor itself has some decent equipment, but the bench press was very basic and my least favorite . I also never took any classes so I can't give any feedback, but I never really saw classes going on to begin with. The cleanliness was by far the worst. Counters, disgusting, showers a mess, it look like no one ever cleaned, and things were always broken from sinks down to the plumbing just being bad in general. It also just became another photo shoot for a lot of "fitness influencers "and those of us that really like to work out don't want to feel like we are in the way. It says no tripods, but that isn't going to stop anyone because again, the staff really doesn't regulate. My biggest issue is that when I try to cancel considering I was all the way in California they gave me such a hard time and now claim I owe them money that I shouldn't. I would urge you to run in the opposite direction from this gym. You would get just as good service at a 24 hour fitness or in LA fitness. I really thought the price with all included would be worth it and that the gym would at least have a high cleanliness standard because there are other gyms at that same price point that boast about how clean they are so it is possible. I don't see this gym lasting very long if I'm going to be honest.

Disappointed with my experience …read more There were no trash cans in the women's restrooms, and there were at least 2 clogged toilets. I informed the front desk as I was leaving. The wipes are also so incredibly thin, doesn't feel like you're cleaning anything. Everything is kinda just strewn around in the women's only section. I came here with a friend using the free day pass, but I couldn't imagine paying for this experience.

A decent and simple gym, great for powerlifting. Has mostly kilo plates, including 25 kilo (55…read morepound) which is pretty neat. Though I must say, they're dumbbells are kinda crap, lot of em have holes in em and/or are rusty. Also they aren't in order on top of that. They have no where to refill your water, they're cable machine is very janky n damaged. I tried doing behind the back curls with them, but the weight wouldn't go back down due to the damaged cables. The gym also only has a single ez-bar. But they do have plenty of barbells including specialized bars, many of which had locks on them for some strange reason though. They have plenty of plate locks which is very nice, i've been to a few gyms where i have to actively search the entire gym just to find some. This gym does not have that issue whatsoever. So to summarize, I wouldn't recommend this place to your average gym goer. Its really meant for people specializing in powerlifting.

They also have Rogue Olympic Barbells and Rogue Bumper Plates for Olympic Lifters. Many members compete in USAPL and USPA so you are training around people who are actively involved in the DFW Powerlifting community. Experienced lifters will appreciate the equipment and environment. Don't let that discourage you novice lifters. This is a great place to learn as everyone is kind and encouraging. We all started as novices after all. This place is going to be something special.
