I met with Abbie and she was soo unbelievably kind, helpful and patient with me. She spent so much time reviewing options and pointed out that there were natural stones that were at a similar price point. (At the end of our meeting, she said "I know you're going to get a natural stone!") She gave me some stone yards to go look and she was right - I fell in love with a stone and it is my favorite part of my entire remodel. I can seriously look at it for hours. Once I picked the stone, Amanda scheduled an appointment to determine the layout of the slabs. She knocked it out of the park! I can't believe how beautifully they fit together. She also said I had quite a bit of stone left and suggested that I use it on another vanity. So glad she did because I love my stone and it made the prefab vanity look way better! When the cabinets were in, Chad came to do the measurements to begin fabrication. They stick to their schedules and I appreciate it so much! Install went great and I am so happy with the final product. Key Points: 1.) Great people that you are happy to give your business to. 2.) Transparent pricing. It was also lower than the other quotes I got. 3.) BLG also had a great selection of remnants at a great price. I got a beautiful marble for my primary bath that I also love! They had so many options! 4.) Their communication is prompt and top notch. 5.) Their ability to determine lay-outs, book match and deliver! 6.) I asked him to bid on other related work, and hired him for that as well. At this writing, the stone is being cut and prepped for installation. I will amend this review after the job is completed. For now, based on Evan's comportment, confidence, and professional expertise, we hired him to replace our bathroom countertop, too. June 26 UPDATE The countertops are in, the backsplash is up, and we are exceedingly pleased with every facet of Nomad Stoneworks. NOTE: Our house is octagonal. This means that there are unusual angles inside. The sink is centered on a "point" of the octagonal. This makes for a challenging project to cut and fit the countertop precisely. Evan used a highly-advanced bit of laser technology to determine the precise measurement, and produce a CAD file to cut the stone on a special, computer-driven saw. I thought he would be our go-to guy for other things we needed done but it looks like we need to keep searching. We contacted Juan Carlos through thumbtack to cut a countertop. The person communicating with us on his behalf was very clear and communicative. She answered all of our questions. There was a job that took too long so she was keeping us in the loop about Juan Carlos's arrival. When Juan Carlos arrived he completed the job well. We asked about countertop stability and he recommended a product and said he could install it. So I went to buy it and he installed it. We were grateful for this. He said he did other work as well and gave us his card. So we contacted him about some touch ups. He said he could do it and that he could go to a paint store to get the paint needed. He showed up to inspect the job site on time this time. He went to the paint store and also picked up the extra materials he would need at the same store. I paid for these materials over the phone. He was going to need to come back another day. This time he was late and said he would be there at a particular time but did not show up at that time. He showed up even later. He did the touch ups the first day and said he would come back the second day to finish but he did not. He also took the materials that I bought with him including the ones I provided to him that he did not buy at the paint store that I had at home already. I contacted him multiple times to ask when he was going to come back with the materials and to finish the job. We rescheduled multiple times. I had to rearrange my schedule each time. In the end, I just asked him to at least give me the materials I bought. He said he would and then he didn't.
