Dr. Lipsky is a good doctor, but he GROSSLY over-books his patients. I waited 3 hours past my…read morescheduled appointment today before I gave up and left. In chatting with other patients of his while I waited, we discovered that we were all booked 10 minutes apart. 10 MINUTES. There's other good ophthalmologists in the area. Don't book with him unless you enjoy hours of waiting to be seen.

This is the worst experience I have had with a medical professional. Starting with the waiting…read moreroom, which is extremely crowded, sometimes there are not enough chairs for all the patients waiting to see Dr. Lispky. This is only the beginning waiting room. You will be shown to two or three other waiting rooms in the course of the round of exams. After each eye exam, you must wait in a different waiting room until that specific technician has time to conduct the next test. So on and so forth until you finally get to be in the presence of Dr. Lipsky, himself. The staff is rude and unhelpful. The receptionist told me they will be there until as late as 7 or 8 PM each night until all the patients have been seen. There are no cut-offs when scheduling patients. As many people as call for appointments - are given appointments. This means, even if you ask for the first appointment of the day, in order to avoid the long wait time, you will still walk into the waiting room and see 12 other people waiting for Dr. Lipsky. All twelve of you will have the first appointment of the day! No wonder the staff, nurses, and technicians are rude and unhelpful. Dr. Lipsky himself seems tired by the time he gets to you. No matter how many times he has seen you, or how long you have been his patient, he will have no idea who you are or anything about your medical history. You must start from scratch every time you see him. It is very frustrating to wait 3-4 hours to see the doctor, every time! It is even more frustrating to be rushed through the appointment with no time to ask questions. Unfortunately, my story gets worse. Lipsky recommended me for cataract surgery. On the day of the surgery, I showed up at the facility and was treated to even worse behavior. The wait was long in a crowded waiting room. The staff was unhelpful. Dr. Lipsky never said a word to me before, during, or after the surgery. Not a word! It could have been a stranger performing the surgery. Afterwards, I suffered complications. More trips to his office followed with more frustrating experiences. At one point, I called the office and asked to speak to the doctor, only to be told by his nurse that Dr. Lipsky does not talk to his patients on the phone. I finally went to another ophthalmologist who ended up correcting the cataract surgery conducted by Dr. Lipsky. The difference is night and day. I can see better than ever in that eye. There are other differences - no long wait times to see the doctor, no more rude and unhelpful staff, nurses, and technicians, and no more disinterested and tired Dr. Lipsky. I think many people do not realize they deserve better than to be treated as cattle. BETTER DOCTORS DO EXIST..

We went to Scarsdale Eye Care today (3.26.26). It cost us $60.00 in transportation to get there…read more I had called the week before to be sure Scarsdale Eye Care used our vision insurance and Diane (not sure if she said Diane or Dianna) said that our insurance was taken. When we got there at 10:15 and got unloaded from the van, the doors were closed and I called the # on the door and Diane said that they were running late and would be there by 10:30 am. She seemed to think that since our appointment was 10:30 am it was not a problem (just guessing). She did not give an explanation for being late. I thought about the fact that we were trusting this business to be reliable and dependable and since they were not even open on time, we decided not to stay and wait. Our transportation van did not want to leave us there without the office being open. Diane called me when we were on our way home. She said that they were there now. I told her that we decided not to see them since they were not able to be there on time and that we did not trust them to take care of our new lenses and would go somewhere else. Diane got an attitude when she said fine. I did not understand why she would have an attitude since they were late and not us. She seemed to feel that since our appointment was for 10:30 that I did not have a reason to not want to go there, even though she did not say that. I was so very disappointed in Scarsdale Eye Care for not being prompt on the opening hours. Not sure if this review will get posted since it is negative. It was only negative because they were not open on time not due to their job performance. An appointment was not really necessary because Diane said they were not required. Sincerely, Kathryn Jackson
