They estimate. 30-40 processing period. I gave up my keys at 2:10p, my car was moved at 2:17, returned at 2:32 and I received my appraisal at 2:43. A very well timed process. Fast forward a month, I ordered a car to be delivered from Louisiana location for a test a drive. $200 non-refundable. It took two weeks and the tracker sucked, rarely updated. But it eventually came in. And the test drive process was a breeze, again in and out in less than 20. The gal hated the car (Genesis gv70 Electrified). Too cramped, but very pretty. So we passed, but the staff and service was easy and non-invasive Definitely recommend if you're looking. No negotiation, but no hassle either.

Then they wanted a hell of a lot more money down than our first salesman. We acted in good faith and spent $300 based on the explicit terms provided by their employee, and now we feel that we are victims of the classic "bait-and-switch" or "spot delivery" tactics because of the internal employee turnover, which was not our fault! We got our $300, back, but we feel annoyed, disappointed, and embarrassed because of their failure. Not cool CARMAX!

I was preapproved for a 2020 Kia Sorento (navy blue) with a $2,000 down payment, and after test driving, I was very excited about the purchase. However, when it came time to finalize my income details, my down payment unexpectedly increased from $2,000 to $2,800--even though I had already chosen my bank and received approval. Since I could not afford the increased amount, I agreed to consider a different option--a 2019 Kia Sorento(burgundy). Mr. Cunningham assured me that this vehicle would be ready for pickup on Friday, September 12. On that day, he asked me for my Social Security number again, which I found unusual, but I complied under the assumption it was a verification step. To my shock, my credit was run two more times that morning. This not only further lowered my credit score but also caused my down payment to increase to $4,100--more than double the original agreement. The experience left me frustrated, upset, and in tears. Instead of offering genuine solutions, I was told my only options were to provide a co-signer or to pay the additional $2,000, which I did not have. For comparison, when I later visited your Southwest Freeway location, salesman Jordan provided outstanding customer service. He worked with me to find alternatives and successfully presented my original credit application to the bank. As a result, I was approved for the 2020 Kia Sorento with the original $2,000 down payment--exactly what should have happened from the start. Instead of picking up my car now I have to wait for the car to get shipped again to a different location further away. This situation caused unnecessary stress, financial strain, and wasted time. While I am happy to have ultimately received the car I wanted, the process at the Cyfair location was unacceptable and avoidable. I hope CarMax takes this feedback seriously and ensures that customers are not subjected to repeated hard inquiries, miscommunication, and misleading information during the car-buying process.
