I rarely leave negative reviews, but my son experience at this dermatology office was extremely disappointing. He waited over 30 mins far beyond his appointment time with no updates or apologies. When my son finally saw the dermatologist, the consultation felt rushed and dismissive. His concerns were barely acknowledged, and he left with more confusion than clarity. I drove him to his appointment n waited in the waiting room with him since I was not allowed to come in with him during his visit. When we left he told me they only prescribed tretinoin. I had originally saw Dr. Lindsey about three years ago. I had a bad experience then. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She talked very fast, making it difficult to understand what treatments she was recommending.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was prescribed three different treatments for the same acne issue. One treatment I did not feel comfortable enough to take, the second gave me a bad skin reaction, but the third worked (although it was not covered my insurance). I then moved to a different city. Now that I am back in Katy and my issue has started back up, I made an appointment. [[HIGHLIGHT]]However, when I made the appointment, the receptionist had told me the incorrect date. When I showed up on the incorrect date, I discovered they also had the incorrect phone number as I had not received a text to confirm my appointment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My phone number had not changed between my previous appointments and now, so I was unsure how this happened. I corrected the phone number. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I returned for my correct appointment time, it turns out they also had the incorrect address on file. I corrected that at the front desk.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had made this appointment over the phone for a skin check and acne concerns. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They did not let me know that they were unable to address two issues in one visit. They chose to let me know after I had been waiting in a patient room for 20 minutes in a paper gown.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They let me know that they could only address one concern per visit. I chose to address the acne issues as they had been more prominent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dr. Lindsey came in and was very loud and speaking very fast.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She told me a skin check was not needed but we could do a spot check if I wanted. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She made comments that my acne had gotten worse because I had not returned for three years, but failed to ask why (I moved to a different city).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She did not ask how long my acne flare had been happening, but rather assumed it has been consistent for the past three years (It has not - my acne flared up in the past three months). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Every time I tried to speak, she spoke over me. She ignored any concerns I had. She made me feel belittled and insulted.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I told her I was still not comfortable taking an oral medication for acne as my mother and others I knew had bad reactions. I was told I am not my mother and that I should take it anyways.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She told me she had taken it before and was fine so I should also be fine. She also told me it could have hormone-related side effects, which I was not comfortable with, hence why I did not want to take it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I was able to get a word in, I told her I had a bad reaction to a different previously prescribed treatment. She told me that was impossible, insinuated I was lying and told me to try it again.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I told her I was not comfortable trying that treatment again due to the lack of results and bad reaction. At this point, I was done with this visit and accepted it was a waste of my money. The doctor stepped out and I began to cry. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dr. Lindsey's assistant was still in the room and spoke to me. She was very sweet and supportive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I told her I feel like my issue wasn't addressed and that I would not be coming back. My spot check was also not performed. I told her I had only had bad visits here and giving the practice another chance was a mistake. She sat and spoke with me for as long as I needed. I asked if I could get the treatment that worked previously sent to my pharmacy. Dr. Lindsey did not even discuss what had and had not worked for me in the past. Dr. Lindsey had at some point mentioned another prescribed treatment but she spoke so fast I missed it. I made an appointment for my granddaughter and let them know I would be taking her. All paitent information was completed prior to the appointment with also giving the Dr authorization to speak to the grandparent. This appointment was pre-paid. After waiting a month for the appointment and 45 minutes in the lobby. I was told the appointment had to be cancelled because the parent had to be with her. Why give me the appointment, consent form and take my money to inconvenience us all. The staff (Kimberly, and Chris, the Office Manager) were unfriendly. Office staff was rude and unprofessional. I came here based on Google Reviews. Unfortunately, it took forever to get an appointment here. When I arrived, they told me the doctor had already canceled my appointment the day prior. They claimed they called the phone number on file and left a voicemail. I never got a voicemail from them, and my call logs show that they never called. The office staff was very unapologetic about the situation and just told us that there was nothing they could do about it because the doctor was going to leave at 3:00 PM no matter what. I do not blame the doctors. I blame the poorly managed office staff. I never went back. I do not recommend Texas Dermatology's Katy office. He has actually done a great job at seeing what we can do for long term solutions. He has recognized that my current medications aren't really working. As far as being a doctor, he's great. However, he has zero personality. Quite frankly, very few people in the office do. I get that you work the medical field and people aren't always the nicest, but when someone needs assistance or simply says, "hello" a response with hello is generally the custom response.... not an eye glare and a "can't be bothered" look. Continuing with the "attitudes" at this place, this office is in serious need of better medical assistance and receptionists. They don't greet you. They don't say hello. They don't ask you how you are doing. In fact, you as the patient are a burden to them. Pardon my harsh review here, but they make we want to respond with the same respect they show me. They don't give off the appearance that they care. And even if they don't, pretend you do. If not, find another career! The only reason for he 2 Star response is because of their ability to diagnose. My mom came in yesterday for an appointment with the dermatologist, they knew the reason for her appointment and took in her insurance a week prior. Once she sat with the dermatologist, Dr. Lindsey Schmidtberger, shortly told her they couldn't help her because her insurance didn't cover her reason for coming in and still charged her an expensive amount for the appointment. They did absolutely NOTHING and my mom still had to pay for what?? They couldn't tell her the insurance didn't cover her issue before she came??? Dr Rachel Schmidtbetger was very unprofessional. Her interest was primarily in what my insurance would pay or would not pay. She gave her personal opinions instead of medical opinions. As a new patient Today the visit was for my 16 year old daughter. Dr Rachel tells my daughter she thinks the mole on the bridge of her nose looks good and the mole would look better than a Maybe possible scar. Upon visually examining the mole on my daughters nose Dr Rachel finds it's to be a healthy mole but refuses to remove it because my insurance deductible is too high. I offered to pay for the mole to be removed out of pocket and Dr Rachel still continued to state she thinks the mole looks good on my daughters nose. Her personal opinions were unprofessional nor would I recommend going to Texas dermatology. I will never use Texas dermatology specialist service again based on this extremely unprofessional service given today! I was still charged $112 for this lousy unprofessional personal consultation. I just took my husband here for the second time , the doctor Rachel Schmidtberger was rolling her eyes the entire time, while the assistant was talking shit outside the patient door. Absolutely ridiculous, I have never heard of or seen anything like this. My husband was telling them about chest pain , blurry vision, and foot problems he's been experiencing which says if you are experiencing these problems call your doctor..and the doctor says "you should go get your heart checked out", all these symptoms could be from the medication they prescribed him and they wouldn't let him explain himself. Refused to listen to him, kept cutting him off. And as soon as she's done she just left didn't look at him didn't say anything. She went out of her way to be rude and disrespectful I've never been treated like this ever. My husband said is 25, with chest pain, blurry vision, gout, and he's never experienced anything like this until he started taking those pills. The doctor insinuated that he does other pills or is a heavy drinker which he isn't and he hates taking any pills , the only reason he took the prescription is because he's been dealing with his skin his whole life and thought this would be the solution, it turns out we won't be coming here ever again and you shouldn't either. (This is a review for the Katy, TX location) BEWARE if you have to pay out of pocket!! I went in for a consult for my hormonal, cystic acne. The office is clean and brand new, the people are nice. Here's the issue-the doctor couldn't suggest anything after I told her I didn't want birth control. I had just stopped taking it because I'd been on it since I was 16- my body needed a break. I just needed another solution. She ended up prescribing me a topical treatment and an antibiotic, but really stressed the need for birth control to help my acne. So, I thought- lesson learned! You can't have nice skin without being on the pill, I guess. Grand total: $150 for an office visit plus an additional $75 for medication and another $90 for topical treatment. I am so thankful I found Texas dermatology, I went to the location in Katy, Dr. Susan Le was my doctor and she was very professional. She gave me this medicated face wash and cream, for my cystic/hormonal acne, since then my skin is looking flawless like Beyonce and super soft like as if I woke up like this. I have one more follow up since my first visit but I have to go back in 5 month with my blood test to make sure my potassium levels are good and that I can keep taking my meds she gave me. I like it that she is really cares about her patients blood levels before giving refills, it shows how passionate she is. Over all I am very pleased with my experience and I recommend to anyone. I had to pay cash because I don't have insurance. Their prices for the consultation and follow-up are very reasonable. I was referred here from my dermatologist to get my Mohs surgery done with Dr. Joseph Sedrak. Making an appointment was absolutely miserable! They told me they hadn't received my information from my other dermatologist for three days, and then finally on the third day they told me, "Oh yeah we got that the other day and it was under review." Under review I don't know what for. While trying to make an appointment, I called close to 4:45 pm on Friday, they answered and hung up on me 4 times (which I could hear them picking up the phone and then hanging up) before it hit 5 pm and it was to an answering machine. So I had to wait all the way till Monday to schedule! Once I was able to get to my appointment the receptionist couldn't of been any more rude. A horrible environment waiting there, no one had a personality and everyone who worked there was so unpleasant. As I was called back to see Dr. Sedrak, he was extremely awkward and had 0% personality, it was very awkward talking to him. Once I called back to schedule my Mohs surgery, they made it extremely hard for me to schedule a good time to get the surgery and then my repairs with a plastic surgeon. I felt like they just wanted to get me off the phone and get it over with. Didn't even let me show her all the pictures I had of when it started etc. I mean eczema? I've never had skin condition my whole life. Terrible Service. Schedule procedure weeks out for them to tell you the day of that they don't know how much to charge you. So they want to run your credit card for random amount before surgery and then maybe more after. Can you say flexible pricing? Sounds like they charge people based on how they feel that day or what they look like. Or based on credit card availability. They charge me a for an office visit and then want more. I tell them they should have told me that before scheduling and to refund my office fee. A "Manager" then proceeds to speak loudly enough that everyone in the lobby can here all about my personal business. She tells me that I should have ask for the cost upfront and that some people there provide that. I tell her I ask during scheduling and there was no mention of it. This indicates to me my insurance is paying. She then tells me, and other strangers in the room, that it's my fault that I chose a bad insurance plan with a high deductible. I once again ask for the cost of the surgery and how much my out of pocket was and she once answered exactly like the other person that she was not sure the cost. It might "be different." Not sure if the difference is for skin color or financial availability. She even got into details of the procedure that I certainly don't want a room full of strangers to hear. This place is TERRIBLE!!!!!! If I was on the fence about the surprise charges they were hitting me with before I ask for my office visit refund back I certainly wasn't swayed to get the procedure by the "managers" absolutely horrible customer service. They canceled my appointment Wednesday and moved it to Friday. When I show up to the appointment there isn't a doctor only a physicians assistant. I let them know I was upset about it but they talked me into seeing the PA. 5 minutes later they came out and told me they wanted to see the doctor because of how I felt and wanted to reschedule me again. I said forget it and walked out. When you go to a specialist and your insurance pays for the specialist and you pay a specialist copayment you should see the specialist and not someone that's not an actual doctor. The staff was nice but the practice is getting over on people and not providing the care they should. I've never been treated like this at any other specialist. This practice is a joke! This is the most incompetent place ever. How do you reschedule an appointment because the doctor is out and then reschedule a person to be with a PA and get to the appointment and right before the procedure you tell me the PA can't do the procedure because I am not a patient of the PA. I made an appointment six weeks out because thats al they had available. Drive out there in the rain and showed up on the day and time I was suppose to. I was notified long with the rest of the people who showed up to be seen that we had to leave. The Dr. Perez did not show up to work and he did not give any one notice he wouldn't be there. So no notices could be given out because he wasn't professional enough to let his office know so they could let us know.The office staff found out and then notified all of us that we basically wasted our time. read more

Dr. Ali is ok. Visit very rushed and appointments are always running late usually 45 minutes to an hour. Check with insurance before you go. I knew May payment prior to my appointment and the lady argued with me. A month later I am trying to get my $125 back. The business office needs help read more

First time going here and has a great experience. I came in for a rash and the doctor was quick to diagnose and recommend a treatment. The staff was very friendly and provided all the answers I needed. I saw the other review about the high cost but that must have been a problem with the insurance because my visit was sixty bucks and had three prescriptions that totals around thirty five dollars. read more
