This was my second time using Texas Climbing Adventures. Both experiences were top notch. April 2023 I took my high school age Girl Scout Troop. Guides got all of us off (all physical and fear levels!) the ground and climbing at Reimers Ranch. December 30th, 2024 climbed again with my family with Lee as our guide. Once again he got us all climbing and reaching the top. This time we climbed at Enchanted Rock. Our youngest, age 12, was overcome with fear due the high view on the last climb. We were gifted a climbing lesson with TCA for our 12-year old's birthday and it was awesome!! We met Matthew at Reimer's Ranch and he was great. He was knowledgeable and fun - he guided her in a way that allowed her to learn techniques and skills she can use in the future. Reimer's was a great spot with several different route options. Near the end of the trip, she started to tire out and was on a harder climb, Matthew was so patient and encouraging. I took a private rappel/anchor clean/build and lead class at Reimers through TCA. Nick was my instructor, and he was really the best. Very knowledgeable, kind, chill and patient. I learned so much in the 4 hours I was there, I'll definitely be seeking to further my climbing education with this company. The instructor made me feel at ease, and not like I had to go out there and prove anything-I was able to climb at the grades I'm at without feeling like I should be "climbing harder" to be worthy of learning some more advanced, but critical skills, and that meant a lot to me. I've gone on two trips with Texas Climbing Adventures and I really loved and enjoyed both trips! My first trip was actually my first time climbing outdoors. I have been bouldering off and on for a few years but more regularly for the past year. My first trip with Texas Climbing Adventures was with an all-womxns group in September. Sam was our guide and was an excellent teacher. I left feeling like I had a good grasp on what was happening and even surprised myself with what I was able to do thanks to Sam's tips and support. My second trip with Texas Climbing Adventures was in October. I booked a private lesson for my husband and myself, who both climb about V2 at our local bouldering gym. My daughter hosted some friends for a day of climbing at Enchanted Rock for her 13th birthday. We spent the night at ER using a reservation set-up by Texas Climbing Adventures. TCA supplied everything we needed to climb, shoes, harnesses, helmets and expertise. My daughter, her friends and the dads had a great time. Our guide, John, started us out with some easy climbs to help us get used to the harnesses, ropes and coming shoes. John had already set up all the climbs before the day started, so once we hiked in, we were climbing in 30 minutes. We progressed to some longer climbs that were still challenging but very doable. We finished the day with a 40 foot rappel. John was great with the kids and everyone had an amazing time. read more

Through Texas Climbing Adventures, we recently enjoyed a really great day at Enchanted Rock learning trad and top-roping skills. Our guide Thomas was patient, knowledgeable, and kindly accommodated a wide range of skill-building sessions throughout the day. I booked a two day guided climb in the Austin area as a Christmas present for me and my 11 year old son and it was a great trip! John was a fantastic teacher and very professional as well as a really nice guy. You never know what you are going to get with an outdoor guide service, so I was very impressed when we showed up at our scheduled meet time at Reimer Ranch and John had already been there for at least an hour and a half getting ready for us. He had our shoes, helmets, and harnesses ready to go and had already set three different top ropes for us to get started on. Our second day began the same way at the Seismic Wall with John having already set some top ropes for us and had everything ready to go when we showed up. We made it through quite a few routes and John was always happy to scramble up and set new routes for us. We were both first-time climbers and have already been to an indoor climbing gym since we returned home because of the great time that we had with John. We are hooked now and I fully intend to use Texas Climbing Adventures for more trips when we have a chance. We are especially looking forward to checking out their Enchanted Rock trip. My wife probably wouldn't let us go without her on that one, so it will probably be the four of us for that one. I truly can't say enough good things about our trip. I'm 42. I'm fit, but fat. My girlfriend, who is fitter and way, way leaner than I, wanted to try climbing after having a great outdoor vacation in Colorado. We booked a day trip to Barton Creek Greenbelt with TCA and our guide, Mike. (He brought along his faithful assistant, Indie the mutt, who was really a great member of the climbing party. Mike was a perfect non-anxious presence. He was so, so patient with our newbie jitters and remedial climbing needs. When it was time to climb, he was patient, helpful and encouraging. I really got scared a couple of times, but Mike was really calming and encouraging. I couldn't get past one crux because I was over-thinking it, and he just let me down and try another route. At the end of the day, we felt really accomplished and very, very tired. One thing is for sure: we are planning to start training to climb again. It was such a great day that we had dinner with Mike and Indie afterward. It was worth the drive from DFW! This is the 2nd time we have climbed with John and his team. The first time he took my wife and I for a memorable day at Enchanted Rock. We had the best climbing day of our lives that day. This April John took our son's Boy Scout Troop on a climbing adventure at Reimers Ranch. Again, the day was 1st class. John brought additional staff to support the event. Before we arrived, he had several ropes already in position,which allowed for maximum climbing time for the scouts. His gear was is in good condition that allowed for minimal complaints from any of the boys from our troop. John met our family of four including our 14 and 10 year old girls at Milton Reimer Ranch for a day of climbing. I have been indoor rock climbing several times throughout the years and so when my husband's company - Slalom Consulting - booked an excursion with Texas Climbing Adventures I was so excited! However, then when and I found out it was outdoorn - I was very intimidated because I had never done outdoor before! Our group had about 11 people with a mix of experience ranging from regular outdoor climbers to people with no experience. CJ and Daniel were our guides and they took us to Barton Creek Greenbelt to get started. They met us with all the gear we needed - helmets, harnesses, appropriate shoes, etc. When we arrived on site they already had two ropes up and showed us how to tie the ropes and how to safely communicate with each other while climbing. It was a great experience! CJ and Daniel were very patient with us and very helpful! With their motivation and knowledge we were ALL able to climb up to the top!
