Incredible experience climbing at Enchanted Rock with our guide Lee. He found routes to challenge my husband and that I was able to climb as well. Definitely recommend.

We were gifted a climbing lesson with TCA for our 12-year old's birthday and it was awesome!! We met Matthew at Reimer's Ranch and he was great. He was knowledgeable and fun - he guided her in a way that allowed her to learn techniques and skills she can use in the future. Reimer's was a great spot with several different route options. Near the end of the trip, she started to tire out and was on a harder climb, Matthew was so patient and encouraging. He made some suggestions on routes but allowed her to explore options herself and she made it to the top! Such a fun day. We will definitely be booking again.

I've gone on two trips with Texas Climbing Adventures and I really loved and enjoyed both trips! My first trip was actually my first time climbing outdoors. I have been bouldering off and on for a few years but more regularly for the past year. My first trip with Texas Climbing Adventures was with an all-womxns group in September. Sam was our guide and was an excellent teacher. I left feeling like I had a good grasp on what was happening and even surprised myself with what I was able to do thanks to Sam's tips and support. My second trip with Texas Climbing Adventures was in October. I booked a private lesson for my husband and myself, who both climb about V2 at our local bouldering gym. My husband had never climbed outside, so Sam got him up to speed while allowing me to practice the skills I learned on my last trip. I would highly recommend Sam and Texas Climbing Adventures to anyone interested in climbing outside. I'm excited to book again soon!

My daughter hosted some friends for a day of climbing at Enchanted Rock for her 13th birthday. We spent the night at ER using a reservation set-up by Texas Climbing Adventures. TCA supplied everything we needed to climb, shoes, harnesses, helmets and expertise. My daughter, her friends and the dads had a great time. Our guide, John, started us out with some easy climbs to help us get used to the harnesses, ropes and coming shoes. John had already set up all the climbs before the day started, so once we hiked in, we were climbing in 30 minutes. We progressed to some longer climbs that were still challenging but very doable. We finished the day with a 40 foot rappel. John was great with the kids and everyone had an amazing time.

At the top of "Thor's Flake"- an incredibly fun and challenging route for beginner climbers. (Don't worry I was not belaying in this photo)

This is a long review. Trust is not easily given when it comes to the safety of your children. I…read morehad read the reviews and spoke directly to Adam, the owner operator of Rock-About Climbing. Adam set my mind at ease with his years of experience and the training program of his instructors. One of the key elements is you know your child best. Do they listen and follow instructions, are the respectfully to themselves and to others? This will have a huge impact on the child's camp experience. I have twin boys who are good listeners and eager for challenges, yet are comfortable to say I'm not ready to take it to the next level without shame. My sons attended camp twice this year. They had amazing experience both times. They were full of stories to share with us at dinner. Adam and Chris (Lead guide instructor) are wonderful working with kids and teaching them skills and techniques for climbing. They have a strong emphasis on safety and listening to instructions. Be prepared to hear stories of push ups or jumping jacks if you step on a rope, walk underneath a climber or don't follow instructions. This IS NOT a drop your child off and pick up at the end of the day and whatever happens-happens camp. You know your child best so please make sure they're emotionally mature enough to listen, be respectful and want to learn. It's your child and our child safety and experience on the line. Our boys had a fantastic time despite a few challenging students. I give Chris so much respect and gratitude how he handled a challenging participant. On the last day they take the students to Enchanted Rock for their final climbs. One of my boys, whom I thought it would have been his twin brother who did this climb, made it to the TOP of the 70 foot rock face. His eyes literally sparkled as he told us about the view from the top and the lake he saw. He admitted he was scared at times, he would take a deep breath and tell himself, I've got this. My other son was fatigued from the heat and listened to his body. He made it 1/2 up the epic wall. He was not shamed by the instructor. He was congratulated on listening to what felt appropriate for him during that moment. The highlight of the day was the Snow Cones at EnchantedRock after a hot day of baking in the sun. I highly recommend this camp for their expertise, attention to safety and passion for teaching. Prepare your child with proper hydration. Most importantly be respectfully to other campers not to send your child if their not emotionally or mature enough to listen and be respectful. This is not a boot camp or drop off & pickup kinda camp. My sons are hooked and look forward to climbing with Chris and Adam again. They asked me if they could climb with them again next week?!?!

I was a little nervous at the start of the day, but Adam's experience and kindness quickly made it a fantastic excursion. He answered all of my questions and explained technique and gear. We hiked, rappelled, and short roped, and we had plenty of time to rest in the shade and take in the views. Lots of variety with the rappelling and each with great instruction. We had SO much fun. Absolutely would do it again and would recommend Adam and Rock-About!

I do kind of wish that they would have a store front for their gear so I can feel and see the difference between everything they have to offer. In this modern day of a digital world and internet ordering, it's still nice to be able to walk into a store, see/ feel what you're about to purchase, and walk out with the product in hand.

There's a nice long loop around the base of the rock top hike and there's the summit hike. The summit hike is the one that draws the crowds. On this occasion we opted to do the loop. The weather was pleasant, but got warm fast. There's not much shade, so prepare accordingly- sunscreen, hats, water. The trail is peaceful and quaint. We didn't see very many hikers or wildlife. The hike is relatively easy, until it isn't. At one point, I really thought we must have turned off the trail. We were down to single file, rocky terrain. I didn't remember this part of the trail so I'm memorializing my trauma now. Luckily, I was with a supportive and helpful partner who lead the way and helped me when I needed. Once we got passed that stretch of terror, we were home free! And then we had to traverse the parking lot clear to the other side. Come to find out, there's two ways to start the loop. Pro tip, park somewhere in the middle to trick yourself into feeling like the end doesn't last forever. Sign me up to go back on the winter!

We had our dog with us so we're only allowed to go on the loop trail (about 4.6 miles). There was a scenic lookout along the way. If you start left to right, the trail becomes narrower. Also, some cell signals are stronger along the loop trail. There are about 2-3 restrooms along the trail. We went at around 9:30. As we were leaving around 12:30, more cars were coming into the area.
