I also appreciate that the office almost always has same-day availability when my son is sick, which is a huge relief. Most of the staff have been friendly and professional, but I've had a couple of experiences with one assistant that made things...a bit uncomfortable. She came off as cold and disengaged, especially during moments when I was undressing my crying infant. A little empathy or even a few kind words would go a long way in easing the stress during those situations. It felt like she lacked the warmth and presence needed to work with young children. Especially when my son was getting blood drawn and she made no effort to interact or comfort him. That said, one thing that really stood out to me, especially as a new mom was the postpartum screening they did during my early visits. I didn't expect that level of care, and it meant a lot that the doctor took the time to go over my responses and make sure I was getting the support I needed. Overall, I highly recommend this pediatrician's office and truly appreciate the care Dr. Doan provides. It takes a lot of patience and a gentle approach to work with little ones, and for the most part, that really shines through here.

When you get to their office, you see an dog in there! (made me wonder if I was in the right place) Fly (the dogs name) hangs out there as the office pet. Very sweet pup. I know doctors offices are behind because of patents or insurance issues so that was my only minor complaint. I was about 20 min behind schedule. Not bad for a doctors office at all. The doctor was VERY nice and attentive to what my needs were and my overall health. She was informative and kind. Turns out, she went to school with my old family pract before he moved away. A nice small world surprise. They have a nice practice, clean building, and great staff. Give her a shot if you like in Cypress. She is now my families doctor. Thanks Dr. Patel!

This place is nestled in a small medical center off of FM 1960 right near Highway 290 in the back corner. The lobby is pretty big, lots of seating so you never feel cramped up next to a bunch of other sick people...thank you personal space. And it's very clean and nicely decorated with a handful of pretty paintings. There's a TV on one side that's usually set to some sort of talk show like "Live with Kelly and Michael" or something like that and there's a ton of magazines to choose from too. Though, I have yet to have had enough time to really get into a magazine or show before I'm called back. I love that I always know what to expect when I come in. I sign in, pay, sit, get called back to get my weight and height measured. Then I go to the back room and have my blood pressure, temperature, etc. taken, before I'm moved into my room to wait on Dr. Howard. Dr. Howard is very kind. She has great bedside manner and really listens to any concerns that I've had. I have never felt rushed or like anyone in the office was overwhelmed or rushed. I don't know if it's just because they don't have a lot of patients or if it's just superior scheduling procedures. I feel like the calm atmosphere is important, because let's face it, if you're in the doctor's office to begin with, you're already facing some sort of stress as it is. Being rushed and corralled through a bunch of nurses and doctors on a mad dash is certainly not helping anyone. I think my favorite thing about Dr. Howard is that she's definitely not being swayed by the pharmaceutical companies. Call me a conspiracy theorist if you will, but I definitely think some doctors are swayed by Big Pharm. Dr. Howard, however, is very careful about writing prescriptions. She doesn't just fix everything by pumping my family full of meds. She will typically give her recommendation, but will provide other options for treatment to ensure that I'm completely comfortable with the plan of action moving forward. I highly recommend Dr. Howard!!

When we walked in, all we smelled was clean! The floors and chairs had just been sanitized and they didn't miss a spot. Ryan at the front desk is just a gem! Talk about going the extra mile...I'm huge on good customer service and she had a big smile on her face, greeted us so warmly, and was quick with getting me registered. I got hit with some bad genetics and have advanced arthritis for my age. I had a C4-C6 cervical fusion 4 years ago and ortho said I would have to be fused from T1-S1 (that's my whole spine basically) and he does not want put me through that so sent me to pain management which I thought would be great but they have dropped the ball on scheduling my spinal injections and I've suffered for months due to bad communication. I've had a pinched nerve in my neck since May and had a trigger point injection from my pain management that lasted all of 3 hours. They said I couldn't get another for 3 months. I call in August and they said they could get me in for October 7th. Which brings me back to AFC. I was in the back in less than 15 minutes from checking in. Dr. Zhang came in and gave the best handshake and let me just say is bedside manner is superb. I explained to him my issue, showed him my x-rays and MRI's, and it took him no time to start a plan. He examined me and saw how hard the knot in my shoulder was as how the inflammation had spread. He immediately said you need a spinal surgeon. Gave me a referral to follow up, placed orders for imaging, and gave me a powerful steroid injection that started working literally immediately. This was not your run of the mill steroid shot. He gave me something that would actually work. It is now the next day and the knot in my shoulder is gone! I slept through the night and haven't been able to do that since May for trying to find a position to put my arm in to take pressure of the nerve. It has been beyond miserable. But I woke up this morning feeling amazing! This is the best I've felt in a really long time and just want to say thank them for such great care! They have even followed up with me today to see how I was feeling. I've worked in healthcare in one capacity or another my entire career. I've been on the IT side of things now for a decade but I remember being in direct patient care and this is the type of experience I wanted my patients to have every visit.

The doctor or nurse practitioner - whatever she is - last name Weaver - came into the room and after I said hello she responded with "you have Covid" in a monotone voice. No warmth, compassion or kindness. She told me she was sending 2 prescriptions to my pharmacy. Didn't tell me what they were or how to use them. Then she told me she would be sending me an email of something - I couldn't understand her mumbling under the mask, but I never received it. Didn't offer remedies to help me feel better. No discharge instructions. Nothing. As if I didn't feel bad enough - physically and emotionally about having Covid, this woman made me feel pretty shitty. I can't recommend this place anymore. I certainly won't be returning. I'm giving them 1 star because the front desk people and the tech that took my vitals and administered my tests were all friendly.
