One star is too generous. Eric's Car Care seems friendly up front -- but once something goes wrong,…read moreit becomes delays, excuses, and attempted add-on charges. Unfortunately, my experience matches what other reviewers have described. Also, this company has a few unresolved BBB complaints recently. In May 2022, they installed a throttle body on my 2007 Ford Explorer. Shortly afterward, the vehicle began having intermittent stalling, and it has steadily worsened. A throttle body should last 100,000 miles or the life of the vehicle, so this kind of failure this soon after installation is unacceptable. Last week, a second mechanic at a Yelp four-star shop inspected it and said the throttle body was "faulty out of the box" and not a Motorcraft or Original Equipment Supplier part. When I brought the vehicle back to Eric's, they kept it for three full days, then told me "nothing is wrong" and attempted to charge me $125 to "look into it" -- exactly the kind of delay and added fees others have warned about. The manager blamed the delay on having only one mechanic and my vehicle being "in line." To make it worse, they claimed the warranty had expired, but when I asked for the signed warranty documentation, they couldn't produce it. If you're going to deny coverage, you should be able to provide the paperwork you say I agreed to. Run -- don't walk -- away from this shop.

This company and the owner is completely dishonest. Completely…read more I took my car to Mike many many years ago for a prebuy. During that encounter, I will NEVER forget how disrespectfully he spoke to his mother who was at the counter helping him run his business. After moving back to Houston and desperately looking for a trustworthy TDi mechanic, I decided to give him another try. It was a huge mistake. Mysteriously, Mike and team said my car had an issue with the immobilizer and would not run. I happen to know quite a bit about these cars. So I played along, waiting for Mike to fix the "issue" with the car. Days of waiting for them to get the work done became weeks. And weeks became months. Frustrated, I found reputable people online who repair the clusters from these cars. They go on to tell me that Mike is lying because the year and model of my car make what he claims the issue to be impossible. I called literally every week for an update and got the same answer "Mike isn't around, can I take a message?" Never did I get a call back. Never did I get a reply to my emails. So, after six months I had the car towed across Houston to another shop, and intentionally didn't tell them about what Mike had said. A few hours after it was towed there they call me and we're very confused. The shop owner literally said "there's nothing wrong with this car." He programmed the keys (which I could have done myself) and it ran perfectly. There was and is no issue with the immobilizer. There is and was no issue with the speedometer cluster. I've now been driving it for about a year without a single problem. Mike is dishonest. The guy who answers the phone for Mike and lies for him is dishonest. And, who talks to their mother that way? 2008 and I'll never forget what I saw from a grown man on that day. I was warned, and now you have been, too. Let me clarify a few things here just so there's nothing left for interpretation. As the business owner states I did not "finally" pick up my vehicle. You never fixed my vehicle. You never answered or returned my calls You never replied to my emails (photos of which I'll upload here for future prospective customers to see). If you didn't reply all you have to do is post those photos.... But you never did. So, after you failing to be able to program keys to a car, again something I've done myself to VW's, another shop did it in under an hour. You just didn't care and you made no effort to communicate with me at all. Ever.

I wanted to update my review as MD Automotive has now become my go-to spot for vehicle services. I…read morehave now come here for two oil changes and two vehicle inspections and felt very positively about the service I received here, especially since I am not knowledgeable about cars, don't have the tools necessary to work on my own car, and do not have a garage. This also means a lot being a young woman and first time car owner. Every time I've been here, I walked in and the service that I wanted was done within 30 minutes. They have a comfortable waiting room with waters, coffee, armchairs, etc. They also updated me about the state of my vehicle and performed extra services as needed, for instance they filled my tires with air and refilled my windshield wiper fluid (without me asking) and free of charge! MD Automotive goes the extra mile to make sure I can keep on rocking and rolling, and as a relative newbie to Houston and vehicle ownership, they really make me feel like my car is being well taken care of. I cannot speak on the quality of their repair services which I noticed make up most of their poor reviews, but for oil changes and regular service, I will definitely be coming back here!

The young girl didn't know better, I'm sure they could've figured out which one is dead (separate $140 diagnostic fee by the way, so that's another scam too!!) but decided to cash in on a gullible customer. Dishonest and overpriced. Stories like this is a dime a dozen but let it be known this shop is just another predatory one.
