I was new at this "hiring a contractor" thing...
I was recommended to Teton Electric by a good friend, but I am afraid that the company has changed since that person last saw the work done.
I spoke with Mike Brent about having 3 new lines run in my house for the stove, dryer, and dishwasher. He sent me a quote for all the materials and 8 hours of time for 2 people. The cost was roughly $1k.
His guys installed 4 lines, instead of 2, for the refrigerator, stove, dryer, and dishwasher. I'm pretty sure I didn't need another line for the fridge.
I asked them for a 2nd quote to replace the existing 2-prong outlets with 3-prong grounded outlets. That came to roughly $500, mostly for labor. The guys dug holes in the wall around each outlet, then claimed that half of them couldn't be completed. They did not patch the holes after they did the work.
Notes: Beware of end dates; My experience with this sort of thing is complicated, but if a contractor does not state the actual "day" that the work will be completed, they could leave the job at any time with plenty of work incomplete. read more
