We had a great experience here. I ordered the Apollo pizza, and the flavors really worked well together -- creamy pesto, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, and chicken were balanced and flavorful. I also loved that the pizzas are made in a wood-fired oven. Our waitress asked if we wanted parmesan and ranch, which I appreciated -- especially since the parmesan was freshly grated and the ranch tasted house-made. Their happy hour prices are amazing, and they even have my boyfriend's favorite beer, Ridgetop Red. Plus, there was plenty of parking, which is always a bonus. My wife and I went here for Fathers Day. I wanted pizza, she suggested Tessio's based on (long) past experience. We were immediately greeted and seated. Service throughout was adequate to good. No complaints there. We ordered bacon wrapped smokies and a pizza. They had some rather odd topping combinations which is a bit off-putting as I am more a traditionalist when it comes to pizza toppings. Forgot which one we ordered but it had spicy Italian sausage, pepperocini and mushrooms. Was really good but had to limit myself to 2 pieces on account of the spice (from the sausage) being at the edge of my usual tolerance. That said, it made a great breakfast the next day. Yes, it is pricey so it is more an occasional treat rather than regular dining. I have to nick them down based on the price... pizza is really not that expensive to make. Would do 3.5 stars. We sat at the bar and ordered the Greek salad and razorback pizza (add caramelized onions). Both the pizza and salad came out at the same time- not a long wait either. The salad was ok- a lot of lettuce, the chicken was a little tough in some parts. The salad was a little pricey, especially given 75% of it was lettuce. The pizza was delicious, they are super generous with their toppings, the protein especially. The slight drizzle of honey really helped tone down of the salt from the bacon and ham. I think there was supposed to be pepperoni on it too but there wasn't and the caramelized onions were just raw onions. Still good overall. Service is top notch, above friendly and personable. Came in on a Friday at 5. East to get a seat. Server came over quickly to bring water and take drink orders. Pizza order was an American standard and a your in charge which is a create your own pizza. The American standard is a pepperoni pizza with olives and mushrooms. It had good flavor with a bit of a spicy kick. On the create your own we had ham and mushrooms. I don't know what it was about this pizza but I liked it more than my favorite, pepperoni. Had a late dinner at Tessio's based on the restaurants open until 10pm on a Saturday, with good reviews, in the Bremerton and Silverdale area, that I hadn't been to yet. Dinner was good. Ordered the bacon wrapped smokies, chopped salad, and a specialty pizza (I forgot the name, but it had red sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, bell pepper, mushrooms, and scallions). My husband had one of the ciders. Also good. The reason I rated this restaurant four stars, was that based on the reviews, I was expecting pizza that would make me forget other pizzas in Washington state. Don't get me wrong... the pizza was delicious. Crisp, and lots of fresh toppings. I just have really high expectations for wood-fired pizza. I have my favorites where I live in SW Washington. My parents live in Bremerton, WA and I visit Kitsap County once a month, or so. The service at Tessio's was GREAT!! Our waitress was kind and attentive. Of the three items my husband and I ordered, I liked the salad the best. I know I'm going to "date" myself, but my favorite pizza of all time was Shakey's Public House Special with pepperoni, mushrooms, and bell peppers, on Wheaton Way in the 1970's. It is a magnificent salad. My spouse and I always share a pizza. The pizza is cooked in a wood fired oven which you can see from anywhere you sit in the restaurant. I don't have a favorite pizza because they are all delicious. This time my husband decided he needs an appetizer as he is not eating my wedge, he orders a flatbread! The flatbread is brought to the table and it's the same size as our pizza! We brought that bad boy home. It was cooked in the wood fired oven and had cheese- which I could place the type, Greek black olives, mushrooms, onions and prosciutto on it. It was delicious! The staff is fun and engaging. We have found our new favorite Kitsap County dining establishment! Not only have they opened up some outdoor seating during this maddening shut down but the service and quality of food is superb! Tonight we enjoyed the spicy meatballs, wedge salad and Brewers Special pizza. I officially crave the wedge salad after enjoying it for the first time a couple weeks ago, best wedge I've ever had! Plenty of dressing, lots of halved cherry tomatoes, bacon for days and oh my, those candied walnuts take it over the top!! The spicy meatballs are loaded with cheese and have just enough kick to keep your taste buds tingling but not too much to make them too spicy for even the lightweights! Every pizza is a culinary delight with flavors and combinations that are definitely not your average pizza toppings. The Brewers Special did not let us down! Second time we attempted this restaurant. The first time we went in and didn't get acknowledged for 10 minutes and left. Tried it again due to the good reviews but it was the worst food experience I've had. We sat at the bar top and had full view of the open kitchen and it was disgusting. We watched the cook touch his clothing, face, dirty dishes, surfaces and then in all one movement put cheese and toppings on pizzas with the same ONE glove on-- didn't even have 2 gloves on. I would have thought since having a see through kitchen, the cook would know common sense and food safety. Only reason we stayed was the amazing bartenders and yummy drinks. We sat at the bar, ordered a couple beers, the razorback pizza and you're in charge pizza with mushroom, beef, pepperoni and garlic sauce base. Beers were great, wife said the razorback was very good especially with the honey drizzle. My pizza was ok, toppings were great, crust was a little chewy in my opinion. Also crust was a little too charred on the bottom, don't like the flavor of burnt. Then we get the bill, there is already a 3.5% credit card fee on it.
