AAA assigned Johnathan's towing, located in Escondido, to come all the way to Vista because we requested a tow to Escondido. Our tow truck driver arrived in less than 30 minutes (AAA said 56 minutes) The tow truck driver Ragheed asked why it was not starting. We told him the anti-theft system had malfunctioned, due to replacement of battery and now the honda shut down. He swiftly showed her how to override and started her car. He also went under the steering column and took a picture for her to see what was causing this issue. A secondary anti-theft system that failed. Common for this kind of 2016 Honda. Because of his kindness we didn't need a tow. With the knowledge he gave us we found a place to have the secondary anti-theft rewired to the main system. JC power in Escondido. I have always had great experiences with AAA service and towing. Johnathan's towing sacrificed more money on a tow and Ragheed went above and beyond to insure she knew how to get this issue resolved. She talked over me, lacked all basic customer service skills and told me they "never took the tow job". Obviously this was a lie since my insurance company confirmed this business two hours earlier. She told me they were too busy and it would actually be another 2-3 hours. So instead of declining the call honestly from the beginning, they left a stranded customer sitting and waiting with no communication whatsoever. When I tried explaining how unacceptable and irresponsible that was, she actually LAUGHED, sarcastically told me to "have a nice day," and HUNG UP on me. If your company is too overwhelmed to handle roadside calls, then DON'T ACCEPT THEM. Leaving people stranded for hours and then laughing at them on the phone is beyond unprofessional. Im the kind of guy that is able to fix things like this but hard to do from so far away. It's hard to find a trustworthy mechanic especially so far away. Not only was he able to come out and diagnose the problem the same day but he was able to order parts and repair it quickly. It was a tough starter change due to the location and having to remove the manifold ect. I know because ive done it once already and its a very complex repair. The parts cost more than anticipated due to the extra gaskets and coolant needed and he still honored the original quote. We gave him extra because of all the extra work he did. He topped off her break fluid, air in the tires, gave it a once over to make sure that it was tip top shape. Also gave my daughter an education on her car. Even took pictures of all the parts and video of it running smooth. As a father it puts me at ease knowing that I can call him in the future I wish I had mechanics like him closer to me.
