Super friendly, helpful, etc…read more I had my oil changed at the dealer and subsequent to that I had a leak that went from infrequent tiny drip to in one day a 4' spot occurred. I immediately called and Leighton's got me in right away :) They looked at it at Leighton's and saw it was leaking from around the oil plug. They suggested I take it back to the dealer since they might have damaged/stripped it and if they did anything at Leighton's, they would have to charge me for another oil change, etc. (I already paid the dealer $150 the first time so was not wanting to do that again right away :) ) Brought it to the dealer and told them this and sure enough, it was leaking around the plug (previously the dealer had indicated it looked like it was leaking in general and could be a head gasket, etc) The dealer put in a new plug and oil and did not charge me (I would have been stressed if they had billed me for the same work again), but I asked for the plug and sure enough, it was cracked along the head of the bolt/plug - e.g. the aluminum split from the threaded shaft and head of the plug. It looked like they over-torqued, but could be metal fatigue Thank you to the great guys at Leighton's (who I will have doing my service in the future) for proving the leak wasn't a 'horrible issue' like it was made out to be elsewhere!!!

First day of the year to turn our AC on for our 2015 Buick Enclave and discovered it was just…read morebarely cool. This was at 2:30 pm and we are leaving at the crack of dawn for a long road trip tomorrow. First called our mechanic of 18 years to find out he just retired, but the new owner could not get us in. We then called Buick, which was a $300 diagnostic fee plus a bunch of other add-on union costs that they refused to guestimate. Then we remembered we have driven by Baker Automotive thousands of times but never thought to go there because we have not had AC problems and had a mechanic ... They were super nice in the phone and said they would get us in despite them closing at 6 pm. When I got there I was surprised to see they are full automotive repair and asked if they could also do an oil change, but only if they had time. They got both done in maybe just over an hour. The mechanic then explained in simple terms how the AC is designed, there is a design flaw, and that there was a recall that they could not verify if it was done. I really like this place. It is so hard to find a mechanic you can trust (a 4.9 rating on Google for 100+ reviews). They are local and prices reasonable ($331 for AC and synthetic oil). Plus they got me in and quickly. Five star service all around, and it turns out, we have a new mechanic.

Neither of us know much about car maintenance, but we immediately pulled off to the side of the road on the intersection between Hwy 7 and Shady Oak Rd. Not five minutes into pulling over, a very generous woman who looked to be in her mid-twenties, wearing glasses, and was driving a dope blue car which I believe was a Toyota FJ60/62 (?) Either way, she dropped her dog off and told us if we were still there she would help us out. She came back just a few minutes later and picked us up and brought us to the O'Reilly just a few minutes away. We told her about this being the second time this has happened and she gave us great advice about our beater of a Ford Escape and how we should get a diagnostic test, check our oil dipstick a lot more frequently than we currently do, and to possibly check if our coolant had a leakage. Before she dropped us off, she told us how her father runs Expedition Autoworks and that it would be worth checking out. I've never once heard of this place as I don't live near the area, but the next time I need car maintenance I will absolutely check out Expedition Autoworks knowing the kindness that woman showed me and my boyfriend today. I wish I would've caught her name, but knowing that there's family of the person who helped us today, I will definitely make the drive and take my business to Expedition Autoworks.
