This is about their business ethic and honesty and not about the actual work. I have to say there…read moreare very few oil change business who are honest with their work. This was not a normal circumstance by any means. The previous business who did my oil change had tightened the oil plug way too tight. This Jiffy Lube had a difficult time loosening the plug. They eventually had to use a tie rod to get the plug loose. In doing so they damaged the oil pan. Now, most places would have just 'duck taped' the plug and sent me on my way. I had to drive back to Chicago from Minneapolis. I would have been stranded if they decided to do so. Instead the General Manager, Ian, took his knowledge and superior customer service to another level. Epic customer service I have not experienced in a while. He informed me of what had transpired and owned up to the damage. Got the car to the closest dealership to get it repaired. Got me a rental car to get me around. All paid by Jiffy Lube. Updated me every step of the way. Now to most this should be the protocol when a business falls through on their work. I have not experienced many people and business who would own up to a bad situation caused by the business. The blame would be passed or try to conceal the damage. Ian and his crew were apologetic and you could tell they were truly worried. This could have been worse if they decided to run from it. Instead they were true gentlemen and took pride in their work and how they conduct themselves. Things happen and I understood bad things happen on accident. I believe they saw I wasn't going to screamed and holler about it but they also noticed how worried I was about it. I needed to back in Chicago for work and had a along drive back. Thanks to their character I am now waiting for the dealership to finish the repairs. In conclusion, I would recommend this place for your oil change services. I would come back when back in town. Would not be afraid because I know they will take care of me and their customers. Please do not avoid this Jiffy Lube due to my situation. It is rare this type of situation would happen. Instead please look at this location as having upstanding management and high character crew. Ian, if you get to read this, Thank You. After bringing my Trailblazer here I would feel completely comfortable making the decisions on my own. (see photos) They give a comprehensive file with pictures and additional insight to the problems, which is extremely helpful. There were a few questions I had about a couple recommended issues and Pete (who completed my inspection report) was able to clarify them with ease and honesty, so I was able to save money on not having to do that repair. It was more of a riding comfort suggestion so it wasn't a big deal since it doesn't bother me. I received a link to the reports via text and e-mail. For the estimate, you can go down the list, which included each cost, and just click "approve" if you want it done which is very convenient when you are at home. If you have questions call! Like I said above they are very easy to talk to and there was never any feel of pressure. Being pregnant during COVID is a concern but the inside was very clean including the shuttle service vehicle and I was very comfortable being there. They have a drink station there or Dunkin Donuts is next door. I also thought it was neat that they have a big picture window with bar height stools and counter that you can watch the mechanics in the shop. I don't think I've ever seen that before. After the repairs, I called around for other pricing estimates and CBA was around what others were. Some areas were less and some were slightly more. One being the fluid flushes. CBA was about $20-30 more expensive. I am a fairly frugal but I would still choose here versus saving $20 somewhere else, especially if you are getting other work done which could equal out the total price. Plus, you have the photos to prove why the repair needs to be done versus someone basically telling you to trust them.. This is now our first choice for automotive repairs. This year they asked if it was one or both, I naively said both not realizing they used that as an excuse to charge $15 more. It is the same inspection, same form used in the past but now if driver answers both they charge $15 extra. The counter person said it is from the "higher ups". I am sure it is - they realized how easy it is to make an extra $15 on rideshare drivers. So, drivers, answer either just uber or just lyft and save yourself some money. It is the exact same form - Midas isn't doing any more work for both. The one star is for this service only - my other experiences with this shop have been good.
