Stopped in after work to ask some questions and get an estimate for my cars brake issues. It had…read morebeen over a month, and I reached the point of feeling nervous while driving (I know... awful). Lane, at the front desk answered all of my inquiries without making me feel like a bother; especially given it was an hour before closing. Despite having a full load the following day, and due to limited hours later in the week, he advised that if I came first thing next morning, they would squeeze my car in. I had him add me to list for 7:30am (just in case) and advised that I was going to check out one more mechanic (nearby). Ultimately I went with Lowell's! The interaction with Lane felt more authentic. I appreciate that he was willing to give a range, and advise how price would vary based on if it was a this problem, verses a that problem. The next morning I dropped my car off. Without knowing when they'd get to it, I just took a Lyft to a restaurant in NE for breakfast and figured I'd walk to work from there. My car was ready by 10am and while I could have gone back for it, I decided to wait till later in the day, which they were fine with. The other place had a loaner car, a waiting area, and would have cost less (based on the diagnosed issue, front brake pad & rotor). However, although I would have LOVED to save money, I'm happy I went with Lowell's... the place that made me feel assured. I would return.

Just had one thing after another go wrong here. Broken part received =1 week delay, broke part off…read moreinstalling new part = 1 week delay, tool needed to install part in ND= 1 week delay. So one month it took to get my car back. Meantime, the 1st loaner van doors wouldn't open, then prolonged beep occurred for entire ride, also radio not working made it impossible to cover up the constant beep. Brought it in twice until they gave a replacement car that smelled like cigarettes and the rear passenger seat belt not working meant my 4 year old had to sit in the middle seat for one month. The least safe seat. Still I was very kind and patient with them. Also I was told I would receive a discount, then very disappointed to find no discount whatsoever or anything compensatory upon pickup. So spoke to Vern who was very nice and understanding but said he could only offer me a credit for half of what I had to pay. They did get most of it covered by my warranty so thanks for that. And Drew and Matt were very nice also. Also washed my car so one extra star for those things. But how can I go back and get more work done, knowing the state of the loaner cars? It really sucks because I really thought I had found a new great shop to go to and had been a returning customer and even recommended it to other people. (Which I now have to go back and awkwardly undo.) If they had offered any kind of compensation (without me having to complain) for all the absolutely ridiculous issues on their end I wasn't going to leave a bad review. At least they attempted to make it better so that is something. A lot of people probably wouldn't even had tried.

Then I was told it would be 400+ dollars ON TOP of labor BY THE SAME GUY THAT HAD JUST DID MY OIL CHANGE 30 MINUTES AGO TO BEGIN WITH??? After going back and fourth for a while it was clear that he wasn't budging and there was nothing he would do for me unless I payed that outrageous repair bill for the repair and stated I STILL had to pay for the $40 inspection even tho it was that same exact guy who did my oil change and broke my car rendering it undrivable for the time being! He said the most he could do was refund me for the oil change but that didn't help at all because I was left stranded and way worse then before I ever came in. At the end of the day I had to tow the car home out of pocket and any oil I topped off into it myself would all just leak out leaving me without a car for weeks. Worst experience ever they will break your car and not take any accountability and charge you hundreds to repair their own mistake ! I ended up paying a local shop $80 to fix what they broke theirself and tried to charge me 400+ to fix. SMH
