A girl friend and I decided to go on a mini road trip from Colorado. This was a must on our trip! We got there on a Saturday around 11am and bought tickets. The train was going to take off around 30 minutes later. You buy food in the convenient store where you buy the tickets. The ride was great! The information about the area and fun facts were very entertaining. You are allowed to BYOY on the train ride. They did have some food options and seating areas if you want to eat lunch or hang for a bit. I loved how much there was to do there. Lots of animals to check out and bridged to explore. I would set aside 2-3 hours to spend here. Great for a cute date or families. Overall 5/5 stars!

**June 2025: Thursday Morning Visit** When I think of Wyoming I think of a "home where the buffalo roam" so naturally when I found out that you can actually feed these fluffy cows I was all for it. The Terry Bison Ranch Resort was one of the highlighted attractions on the Wyoming Visitor Website so I did some further research and found a Groupon Deal for $12.35 which gave entry for two adults. I think it's otherwise $20 an adult. The "resort" is a very generous adjective to describe the zoo. There are horses, chicken, ostriches, llamas, and a few other animals, but I didn't feel that they wow'd me as a main attraction. The area was spacious, but everything was pretty outdated and needed a new paint job. Nevertheless, my friend and I were there for the bison. When we arrived we checked in at the gift shop and also bought feed for $10 a bag. I think they're really big grass pellets that they enjoy as a snack. We each got a bag so that we had ample treats to entice the creatures. There are a couple of departure times: 9:00AM, 10:30AM, 12:00PM, 1:30PM, 3:00PM, 4:30PM, 6:00PM, so we made sure to arrive at least a half hour before the 10:30 time so we could secure a spot. The train is pretty old and rundown, but it's elevated so we're at a height advantage when interacting with the bison. We rode the train for 3 minutes or so and saw many prairie dogs and finally got to see the adult and baby bisons! They have long tongues and are super gentle when they take the pellets out of your hand. I don't know about you but feeding these fluffy cows was such a cool experience I guess because it's such a unique experience. I highly doubt that I'l have an opportunity to do something like this in California, so if you're visiting Cheyenne or Denver this is definitely something cool to do!

This is a working bison ranch/feedlot with an included activity area and RV camping. I expected it to be cheesy, and it is, but it's also a nice 2-3 hour trip from Denver area to spend time under wide skies and enjoy the plains. It's a little run-down (the patter from the train engineer/tour guide mentions a number of failures and mishaps) and it costs $10 extra to buy a small bag of bison cookies. But certainly feeding the bison from the train is a treat for adults and children. Buy souvenirs and bison meat at the trading post, take a horseback ride, or book your wedding in the tiny chapel. Accessibility is not a priority--there's no accessible toilet but I was able to squeeze into a regular stall. Because it wasn't crowded on this weekday, I was able to park very close to the ramp leading to the train. I enjoyed my day here.

Train is slow and loud but the bison make up for it. Lots of flies but that is to be expected because of the amount of animals. Did not try the food but I will definitely come back to try it. Lots of fun over all.

An amazing place just right off the highway on the border of Wyoming in Colorado. I stayed at one of the lodges, which was quite nice. Took the buffalo tour shopped at the gift shop at eight at the steakhouse. Love this place fact anything that has to do with buffaloes is a great place. If you need a quick break or just time to stretch your legs, stop here at Terry's bison Ranch

It was a fun ride on the train. The train operator was friendly and funny. We got to feed the bison and learn about the nearby area.

Terry Bison Ranch is a 5-star experience, you've got to check it out! A special thanks to our train operator and tour guide Mac "not the rapper" Miller...took us around the loop to interact with the bison. You will get your money's worth as you're allowed to feed and photograph the bison during the one stop during the train ride. Afterwards, walked around the premises, checked out the trading post, got to see the horses and llamas, and had lunch at Senator Saloon. A MUST-SEE attraction in southeast Wyoming!

My kid loves animals so during our first trip to Wyoming we thought a trip to Terry Bison Ranch would be nice. Since it was a holiday weekend it was pretty packed so the staff was pretty busy. I wouldn't say they were personable but some customers were short and not too nice so I wouldn't expect them to be super happy for a whole day of that. We did the train ride and it was slow and nice for photos. I bought a bag of bison feed which is $10 bucks to have my kid feed the bison. It was worth it just for the photo ops but I couldn't get the bison to eat all my cake. The train guide was a nice older gentleman. Definitely leave him a tip. But the true star of our visit was speaking with Chance. That man was so nice. I also suggest walking around the grounds. You can see some ponies and chickens. There was a random peacock walking around. This is a fun place and I'm happy we visited. Be kind to staff! They were working hard and a lot of folks come through.

Vibe: Recommendation for area Travel: Easy to get to/off I25 at CO line Price: $20 or Groupon $10 (Mothers Day special cost me $7.50) Parking: plenty gravel spaces I saw a metal/wood bison on a hill at the CO/WY line and was fascinated. Then when I asked Google what to do in Cheyenne, this place was mentioned. A quick trip to YELP and this became a necessity!

This was such a great experience so close to these huge bison feeding them too! Such a great place to explore. Wish they had more food options other than the food truck but the store had such cool unique merchandising. The cow in the hay is my favorite

Five stars over and over - this place is so darn cool and our Bison train tour guide, Caleb, was absolutely wonderful! It probably helped that we came in their off season (December) so we were the only ones on the tour and got a private tour. :) Upon arrival, you go into the trading post to buy your tickets. The trading post is filled with lots of fun merchandise to look at and two amazing, friendly indoor cats! The bison train tour lasts just under an hour and you spend time getting up close and personal to feed the bison. They are such large, mesmerizing creatures and Caleb knew so much about them. It was such a nice tour having him there to answer all of our questions! There are also peacocks, an ostrich, and lots of other animals you can see along the way. An added bonus was the super friendly, adorable barn cats! Loved this place so much and would highly, highly recommend for anyone visiting the area!!

The good was we got to feed bison. It seemed like the ranch needs lots of work and updates but overall they were busy and people kept coming and giving them their money. For two of us it was $40 plus $10 a vag for feed, for a 45min brain racketing train ride to the bison and back. It was for sure interesting. Quite an experience!

This place is interesting for sure especially if you like big animals like bison. They also have a variety of other animals. We saw an ostrich, peacocks, horses, cows, turkeys , cats, chickens and of course the bison! We bought a bag of bison food for 5 bucks and our train ticket in the general store. The bag of food had plenty for two people to share. We waited for about a half hour before our tour left. The staff was handing out floats and popcorn. That was a nice touch! The train ride was a herky jerky experience that I loved. Our guide made several jokes and mixed in a lot of facts about the area and the farm. After cruising around a bit you will wind up at the field where the bison are. It really did blow my mind! Although you are on the train when you are feeding them there is times when you touch them a little. That was definitely not in my bingo card! I was in awe and the guide gave us plenty of time. It is a farm so it definitely smells like one. Definitely worth checking out.

We drove an hour and a half to get to the place and we of course showed up an hour early, met with Mike one of the wranglers and he invited us to take a stroll while we waited for our ride, we did all the paperwork and got the kids helmets picked out, went for a beautiful walk and returned for our ride. Sadly Mike almost in tears says we were not on his schedule, said it happens quite often and hes left as the face to be the bad guy, we tried calling the office line but no answer, we were turned away to drive an hour and a half back home, great anniversary right? So not a single call from anyone in the office to appologize for the error, we contacted Groupon and got a full refund but still, not even an apology from the company for basically ruining our planned anniversary! Mike was great and it wasnt his fault clearly and the fact he got emotional made it all the easier to walk away friendly even tho my wife was really upset and my kids disheartened. I sure hope this company has more people like Mike and realizes they have very poor customer service to at least reach out to a customer and apologize for the inconvenience but I guess they just dont care. I wont ever schedule with this company again, and surely wont ever recommend them to anyone because of this situation. I'd recommend people to just go a few miles to Estes park and visit with Sombrero rather than deal with this irresponsible company. Thanks again Mike for your empathy and I hope you have nothing but great rides and the very best in life, you clearly deserve a great life.

No fuss about the change. You don't see service like that anymore. The trail is along a path and you get as far as your time allows. We didn't get too far because we had some slow riders. I would highly recommend the for beginners. If you have a larger group you'll have better luck at setting the pace and get farther along the path. It's not the guides fault if folks are slow. Keep that in mind when going. Be on time as this activity starts at the parking lot of the head of a trail. We enjoys the horses and the guides.

Upon our arrival, she continued to be SO rude to us. She didn't even ask our names, started bossing us around, we had a new rider with us, which she didn't give direction too. INCREDIBLY UNSAFE. One major issue was the venue tasting, which unfortunately did not reflect the quality or level of organization we expected. Communication was inconsistent -- our coordinator changed during the process, but we were never formally notified or introduced to the new coordinator beforehand. The tasting itself raised several concerns: * Food and appetizers were very disappointing and did not appear to represent the venue's higher-value menu options * No food labels were provided, which made it difficult to identify dishes (ironically the only labeled item on the appetizer table was the hand sanitizer bucket) * Multiple food safety concerns were observed * Buffet service ran 15-20 minutes behind schedule * Service details were disorganized (no cloth napkins, no straws until requested, incorrect utensils provided) * Staff repeatedly opened the outdoor doors, making the dining area cold enough that guests were wearing winter jackets There were also logistical issues such as no microphone or greeting to start the tasting and no closing remarks or communication from staff. After this experience, we decided to cancel our booking well in advance of the wedding date. Unfortunately, the contract language regarding refunds proved ambiguous. Although only our deposit was due at the time, we had made additional payments early. When we canceled, the venue refunded 50% of the total amount paid to date rather than 50% of the deposit, which resulted in us losing $1,800. My recommendation to future couples is to review the cancellation terms extremely carefully and avoid making payments earlier than required until you fully understand how refunds are calculated.
