The nice view is not worth the terrible service we received here and the unimpressive food. We decided to come to Terrazza Celè to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We arrived 10 minutes late to our reservation because we accidentally got lost on the way and we were informed that the restaurant had already given our table away- after only 10 minutes! We had already confirmed with them earlier that we were coming to celebrate our anniversary and I have never had a restaurant give a table away before the 15 minute grace period. Nevertheless, they asked us to wait and said they would bring some prosecco over for us to enjoy. We waited 20 minutes, no one ever came by with prosecco or interacted with us at all. I finally went back up to the front desk to ask what was happening and we were seated shortly after that. We probably would have waited another 20 minutes or more if I hadn't gone up.
We sat down around 9 pm and the outside balcony was maybe half full- it was definitely not packed, but you would think that it was, because it looked like there were only two servers, and whenever we looked, runners were constantly waiting by the back of the restaurant or near the kitchen with no idea where they should be going- not exactly what you expect from a fine dining experience. We had an incredibly hard time getting our server's attention, and whenever we did flag him down, we had to wait at least 10 minutes for him to come back to our table.
There are two menu options- there is a tasting menu or you can order à la carte. If you do still choose to come here, I'd recommend getting the tasting menu because you will very clearly and visibly receive better service. We did not choose the tasting menu and were waiting at least 30 minutes between each of the three courses we selected with absolutely no reason provided for the extremely long wait. We were very hungry and the portions we finally received were incredibly small. We frequently dine at Michelin-starred restaurants or similar, so we were not expecting huge plates of food, but these were truly miniscule. We asked for a few extra pieces of bread just because we were so hungry- and of course, we had to wait 20 minutes for that, too. For BREAD. There was also absolutely zero recognition that we were celebrating a special occasion at any time. When we finally asked for the check was the only time we ever received any kind of attention or quick service, because they cleared our plates so quickly you'd think they had to turn the table in five minutes- while we were still trying to enjoy the last few bites of food we did have.
An incredibly disappointing experience in every way that I would not recommend for a celebration or otherwise. read more
