The city was bustling with people, and I was pleasantly surprised by how gorgeous the downtown area was. The café had a vibrant, energetic atmosphere that perfectly matched the excitement of the city. Our server was absolutely amazing and made excellent recommendations. The portions were generous, and the food was delicious. Based on the recommendation, I ordered the corned beef hash with the cinnamon pancakes, and both were fantastic. Next time, I definitely want to try the red velvet pancakes! My friend ordered the Triple Triple Omelette with the original buttermilk pancakes, and we both chose the cheesy grits. The cheesy grits were very creamy, though I would recommend adding a little more butter to enhance the flavor. That was really my only critique. The restaurant was busy, but after dining there, I completely understand why. Despite the crowd, we were greeted immediately, and the service was prompt throughout our visit. Overall, Hudson Café delivered great food, outstanding service, generous portions, and a fun atmosphere. I will most certainly be back the next time I'm in downtown Detroit!

It was not quite what I was expecting, it seemed to be more like stewed fruit juice, but I enjoyed it. My fiancé enjoyed his omelette as well. I ordered a side of bacon, and it came with four very large slices of bacon. It's definitely not a cheap place to breakfast, as my waffle with bacon on the side was nearly $22. But if you want a green breakfast place the various breakfast options, including multiple types of waffles, grapes, eggs, pancakes, benedetc., then this is the place.

Priced accordingly too (not cheap at all!). Because I'm on vacation, I went ahead and tried something I usually don't get: the Breakfast Hash. But this recent visit to Detroit I have ordered Uber Eats from here two days this week and both times my order was wrong. Today I ordered a bagel with cream cheese (kind of hard to mess up, so it was safe) and a latte with white chocolate sauce and oat milk. Instead I got a regular mocha latte. My friend pointed out the breathtakingly beautiful bouquet of dried flowers hanging over our table. I should have taken a photo when I had the chance. I started with the spiced brown sugar latte, made with oat milk. Delicious and sweeter than I thought. Even though the menu is small and curated, I could not decide between the nosh plate, the biscuit brekkie, or the quiche, which was the special of the day. So I ended up with the quiche but added the biscuit and bacon - I did not want to miss out. The crust of the quiche was fine, but the custard-like filling was divine, more like a savory crème brûlée or flan. Service was quick and efficient. Our reservation was made for one of the predefined 90-minute blocks, so the staff was on top of getting and delivering our meals and bussing tables as soon as they emptied to make room for the next group of guests.
