Hidden gem!! This is such a delightful place, tucked away in plain sight and better yet, only ~1/2 mi. from me! Don't let the unassuming exterior fool you - it's well worth a visit. Small, quaint, romantic vibe. Amazing food, impressive wine selection & very knowledgable sommelier, Chris. I usually order the scallops ($28) & a dessert - the bread pudding ($8) is to die for! The scallops are always tender & cooked to perfection. Sometimes I'll share a salad ($10) that's delicious with roasted beets & goat cheese. My date has had the veal chop ($32) & gushes over it. I've never had a bad meal here. Aside from the food, friendly, prompt service greets me every time. There's a romantic ambiance, whether you dine indoors or out on the patio - the patio is magical when the weather is nice! This place is perfect for a date & I've seen quite a few groups for birthday celebrations. It's not too busy during the week. If you're going on a Friday or Saturday night it probably wouldn't hurt to make a reservation - the place is quaint. The crowd is your young / mature professionals, mostly Brookhaven locals. I love to go to support the local community - the owner couldn't be more gracious & welcoming. And it's nice that dining here doesn't break the bank, unlike many nearby places! read more

I was staying at a motel across the street, had no car, it was raining and it was 9:00 pm. My options were limited but I struck gold. I would have missed this place - as other reviewers have said, it's in a strip mall and doesn't look at all promising from the outside. Inside it's a warm comfortable atmosphere with a welcoming staff. It was very close to closing time so I sat at the bar in the back. The menu had a lot of great options but the clock dictated I order fast. I went for the Penne Primavera Pasta with Chicken. It was a win - full of flavor, fresh tasting, and beautifully prepared and presented. The happy friendly staff and the excellent food combined to make this a great experience. read more

I, as the reviewers before me, took a risk and entered a strip mall I see every time I go to the airport on Marta. How I have never heard or seen of Terra Terroir until last night, I do not know, but I will begin to champion this restaurant to my friends in the 'haven. Brookhaven needs more restaurants of this quality. Wait staff was excellent: friendly, knowledge, and attentive. The food was great: beet salad was fresh, salmon was fresh and crispy, and the buffalo meatloaf was amazing. Reminds of the meatloaf my father used to make which is a nice blend of flavors and spices. As people mentioned below, the spinach is also a good side to order. While the food was good, we both left a little hungry (maybe we should have ordered desert?). Either way, I will return and hope that more people start eating here. read more

Terra Grille is located in a random strip mall in Brookhaven across from the Brookhaven Kroger. Don't let the location fool you, this place is well worth a visit! The food is healthy but quite tasty and filling, with a bold but simple menu mainly consisting of seafood and game. I've had the shrimp & grits which served as a great comfort food on a cold evening, and the whole wheat pasta with salmon which was also creamy and satisfying. I love the fact that I can order a side of sauteed spinach--and it is a large amount of spinach. It's not drenched in oil or spices, nor is it cooked until it turns brown; it's simply spinach. I always feel like I'm getting my daily veggie requirements with this side. The atmosphere feels upscale yet casual dress is suggested, which is another thing I love about Terra Grille. This is the type of place where you just feel welcome and that the owner(s) take pride in the food. The wine menu is extensive and the waiters are knowledgeable about the wines and accommoding if you want to taste before ordering. The Pinot Noir suggested by my waiter was excellent. I completely recommend this place for a date night or even a quiet dinner alone. You will be pleasantly surprised. read more

Is something ever as good the second time you experience it??? Well, in this case, yes. I had the occasion to return to my "discovery". Despite the economy (if you say "what economy, stop reading now because your martini is ready), this place was packed for lunch. Service was good as ever. The server recommended meatloaf - he said he eats it at least three times a week. Well, if it's THAT good, I need to try it. It was pretty good ... made from buffalo... served with a side of roasted potatoes. The dish could have used something "green" on it (like a small salad or green beans). The thing that makes this dish is the sauce. We liked it so much, he brought us another side. We did not have the time for desert, but I still want to go back when it is warmer and sit outside for some wine in the evening! read more

Too bad I discovered this little gem two hours before my flight out of Georgia. I would have loved to drink my way into oblivion by sampling their wines and then tried to say their name five times quickly the French way. The lunch menu was imaginative and reasonably-priced. Super-fast service is a big plus. My only complaint is that our server (John) seemed a little bewildered, as if he had stumbled in here and found himself in a server's uniform, but was unsure what to do. I ordered my lamb medium well and it came out overcooked, and I think it's because he heard me incorrectly. We also had to repeat our orders. Perhaps it was his first day and he was nervous. Poor John. Table-mates got the fish tacos and some sort of salad and both enjoyed their meals. One of them -- an acknowledged wine expert -- said the wine list is fantastic and we all heaved a collective sigh that it was lunchtime and we couldn't drink. So don't be dumb like us. Go when you have no alcohol restrictions. read more

This is my first time back in over 6 years. I had only been once before (then known as Terra Grille) and I ate there on my first day in Atlanta. Edamame, yummy burgers - it was a treat, but for whatever reason I never went back. Fast forward 6 years and now that I'm into wine and good eats, I thought it was worth the trip to check out the facelift on what I thought was a great place. We went on a Friday night with no reservations. Friday was calling for rain so we didn't even ask to sit outside, which looked amazingly beautiful, even with storm clouds overhead. The little room off the patio looked perfect for a party - definitely worth remembering!!! The interior of the restaurant is completely different and actually has a sushi restaurant kind of feel, in that the kitchen is open, the lighting is dim, and booths dominate the floor. I give 5 stars worth of credit for the stellar playlist, which not only featured KT Tunstall and Norah Jones, but my fave lesser-known jazz vocalist, Melody Gardot. Perfect. One bonus of Terra is that since its a wine bar, there are loads of wines to sample before settling in on what you'll have with dinner. I felt like the sommelier was very attentive to what I enjoyed in a wine and definitely steered me in the right direction to a lovely sangiovese. I wasn't entirely hungry and made the mistake of letting my hubby (and the waiter) talk me into the buffalo meatloaf. This isn't something I'd normally order or even make at home so the choice was rather odd, especially when the halibut special sounded so good. In the end, I thought the meatloaf was bland and that the pepper sauce poured over it was the attempt to make up for the lack of flavor. In addition, somehow our appetizer order of edamame got confused as my side item, which was supposed to be sauteed spinach. Not a huge deal since I wasn't hungry, but meh. Hubby's lamb burger was heavy on the mint and not so heavy on the flavor. The side salad was massive and the homemade dressing was the best thing of the night. The homemade key lime pie was HUGE and delicious. Best I've had in Atlanta, for sure! In sum, I think this is a place to go to for drinks and an app. Our bill came close to $100 for two glasses of wine, two entrees, a dessert, and tip. Ouch. For the price versus the quality of the food, its just not worth it to me to pay that when there are comparable restaurants closeby (Haven and Kaleidiscope) where I would have been much happier at almost spending $100 on Friday night's dinner for two. Minus the mess-up on our order, I found the staff to be super friendly. My water was always filled and it seemed as if both the manager and owner were on staff that night to make sure everything was perfect. Their website features specials which are worth checking out. Finally, I asked our waiter what the deal was on patio reservations since the website seems a bit odd about the process. Here it is: first come, first served. You can call ahead and they will try to seat you out there if they can, but you may have to wait. If you're a group of 6 or more, they'll take your credit card info to secure your reservation. They want you to show up or else get to charge you for the wasted space. All in all, I'd give it another shot for lunch or for drinks on the patio... read more

Love this place. Tucked in back of rite air shopping center a boring front decor will typically keep most people on moving but if you choose to stop in you will see the treasure we discovered. Great wine selection and beautiful outdoor patio with full foliage. Perfect romantic lunch or eve spot. Food is great as the service typically is too. The lamb burger is one of the juiciest I've had. The scallops were fantastic and I've honestly never had a dish here the I did not devour. But shhh don't tell too many others we want this secret to ourselves. ;) read more

I really liked this place. It had a great atmosphere, great food and drinks, and the service was good! I came here for drinks and dinner with another couple. I really enjoyed everything about my experience here. All the servers were friendly and helpful. The patio where we were seated was enclosed, so it was still warm, but it was really nice. The handmade cocktails were all tasty. I enjoyed the veggie dinner that I ordered. No complaints here. I would definitely go back. read more

Caught wind about the amazingness that lies in this random strip mall on Peachtree. I'd been wanting to go only based on reviews from peers and on yelp. Without hearing about it I don't think that I'd have gone considering the randomness of this location. Our evening was interesting to say the least. It seemed as if our servers section was extended throughout the entire restaurant making his balancing of tables a bit of a struggle. With a 5 minute greet to begin a meal it's sometimes difficult to get back on my good side Beau.... Had to ask for a refill, no plate was bussed off of my table the 2 times he approached us once asking for dessert or the check... Just leaves the table with two large barren entree plates resting ever so clearly in the center of the table. Drops of the check with a simple "thanks" and scurries away to go catch up with the other tables I'm sure he's been neglecting. The food was great which saved our experience. I'd like to come back to get a different server and try the patio which I've heard is stellar. I recommend the Lamb burger with Mint Chutney. Excellent food, dismal service. read more

The food and wine selection here are really good and the patio and restaurant are both very clean and comfortable. The indoor seating is nice but the patio has a waterfall and beautiful greenery! As for food - the crispy Brussel sprouts are amazing and The veggie burger was quite good. The ingredients were top notch (black beans, peppers, lentils, oats, held together with tahini paste) but it becomes a fork and knife burger as it isn't extremely firm. The fries are amazing!! I've had both the Parmesan truffle and the sweet potato - both are fantastic but the Parmesan fries are the perfect balance of crispy and soft! As the restaurant got busy, our service left little to be desired which is why I gave 3 starts despite the tasty food. All in all, I'd recommend to anyone but don't go when you are in a hurry or require attention at peak meal time. read more

Sometimes high expectations create disappointment... Definitely not the case here. Read reviews on Yelp to help me decide on my initial visit. The restaurant was AWESOME!!! Very attentive wait staff, great atmosphere, great music, great food and great wine. If your wine pairing skills are not great; no worries, ask Chris, a well traveled and very knowledgeable bartender. Loved being able to enjoy a meal on a patio in early January Will definitely return to this Hidden Gem read more

I've been dining at Terra Terroir, formerly Terra Grille, for many years since I'm a Brookhaven resident. I must admit that it's not what it used to be, despite its expansion (along with significant menu price increases). My salmon was way under done compared to how I ordered it--and the veggies / sides were cold when they returned my plate to me. The server who was very friendly, was really just "fair" as they go. For the prices, I was disappointed. It was a special occasion for my g/f and I, and don't think we'll be back to Terra Terroir. read more

This place was a huge disappointment for me anyway. Maybe I'm overly picky but I was put off immediately while when we were being led to our table, I caught a glimpse of a guy in the kitchen door throwing food into his mouth. I don't know why but I always find that unprofessional (I realized when we left that it was the chef but he was not tasting the food while cooking... he was just snacking). Bad form... bad form. I was surprised at the high prices considering its location in a strip mall and so I ordered a Caesar salad with shrimp. (my grandmother was buying). Considering the dish consisted of lettuce and was $13.00 (because of the $5.00 shrimp) I would have expected a nice sized portion. I expected wrong. It was smothered in cheese and a dressing that I could not identify. All I know was that it was bland and how it could be so overpowering I'll never know. I saved the 5 shrimp for last and while they were slightly overcooked, the grilled taste was fabulous. We had to ask for bread for our table of five and when it came that was exactly what we got... five lonely pieces of bread. We did ask for more but it never came. I would give the place five stars for atmosphere and the beautiful garden but Yelp doesn't let me do that and you can't, after all, eat décor. read more

Just went to TT for the first time, valentines night. I loved the whole vibe, decor of the restaurant! Comfortable, great variety of seating options, lighting etc.. . My meal was perfect! Our waitress was on point and helpful in making choices. read more

I too thought it was a strip mall and by no means could it house anything very cool behind such. My first trip was for a casual dinner to enjoy a spring evening, probably one of the three that ATL experienced in the entire season. The menu had a great variety of things to select from, though the pasta was a bit more drier in texture over what I anticipated. I do have to give this place some big Yelp Props though for my second visit. My PA looked into places to eat and thought we could go here for a group of 9 at work, time to welcome on some new employees! The lunch period ended already and our meeting ran over. I was fearful that by the time we would get to the location, we would have to go to Plan B, expecting it to be closed. I bolted over and they welcomed me in, and allowed us to sit anywhere. The restaurant staff working between the lunch to dinner, when it was closed was at our service. While the menu was switching out, they requested for members of our group to order their entree if at all possible but it was done in a low key way. The salad I enjoyed was stellar. The wine list is also fantastic. When a business goes out of their way to help me out when it's work related, I give them five stars. Great food, great service, loved sitting outside, great wine! read more

If you are looking for a decent meal in Atlanta this is one of the better ones in town to visit. It is located in one one of my favorite locations in Atlanta near Steinman's. The decor is interesting, it's a little too dark and in like for my taste. However we say in the back near the trees and a fountain which was pretty cool. The food here was very good. I got the meatloaf with mashed potatoes. It was great. The meatloaf tasted just right. The potatoes were good as well. Best of all, the service was excellent. Pretty standard place with great food. read more

I had never been to Terra Terroir, but I figured they must be doing something right to have survived this long in an awkward (to say the least) setting in the corner of a strip mall near a drug store. After driving by it countless times, I finally made it in last night. What a surprise. We sat on the back patio which, literally, makes you feel like you're somewhere else. There are waterfalls, cool trees and landscaping, and even a private outdoor room. We only had wine and didn't eat. But the wine was fantastic. Our server gave us plenty of recommendations and I liked everything he suggested. He even told us all about the menu and some of their signature dishes. I can't wait to go back and eat there. I only give it four stars because our experience was incomplete without having eaten. I was very pleasantly surprised by this hole-in-the-wall next to a Rite Aid. read more

Wonderful atmosphere, they normally play XM Radio jazz standards in the evening, dim lights, not too noisy. The food is also very tasty. They have a variety of health-minded dishes that will appeal to almost anyone. I especially like the fact that they have buffalo dishes (something you don't see too often). Though this restaurant is located in a strip mall next to a hair cut place and an Eckerd's, it's a delightful little treat. Wide selection, fresh, hot, delicious food! read more

Terra Terroir - Terra Grille view from the outside window - New American Near Me - Brookhaven, Georgia

This was my first time there. There were 4 of us and we had a reservation. First, we had to wait for our table because they had 6 tables that hadn't been cleaned yet. Then, we waited over an hour to get our food. When we got it, all the dishes were lukewarm. The portion of the dishes for the cost was just sad. For a small place in a shopping plaza asking over $20/plate, there should be more than 3 small scallops or one pork chop on a plate. When we asked for a manager, he came over and said, "The food is coming." and rushed off before we said anything. Just rude! He later came back and tried to make it right with free dessert, but the overall experience will result in us never returning. They also rave about their wine selection, yet the bottle my husband ordered was not in stock. I would understand this if you had a big book of wine or if that wasn't one of your hooks. The only positive was that the food tasted good, but that could have been due to how incredible hungry we were at this point. read more

3 stars for the friendly service and an extended wine list. My friend and I met here for a weeknight dinner. The menu is diverse in that it offers small plates, cold plates, hot plates and main entrees. There is a variety of selection to choose from. We both opted for a salad and a hot plate. Our server was very patient with us taking extra long to order our drinks. We ordered a bottle of viognier from California to share. Although the wine was decent, I was surprised it didn't wow me. For dinner I ordered a caesar salad. The salad was dressed perfectly, with the right amount of croutons; overall I enjoyed the salad. However I was disappointed our server led me in the wrong direction with the risotto. He recommended it over the kale & shrimp salad. Sadly the risotto was drab with carrots, green beans & corn. And worst off, it was clumpy and more of a rice dish and less of a rich risotto that had been gently stirred and cooked. I am sad this wine place has hits and misses in the food department but I would give them one more chance, possibly. read more

One of my favorite, independently owned restaurants in town. Lucky for us it's convenient to where we live. I've been coming here for probably about 6 years now and it seems to get better and better. The outdoor patio is beautifully done. Whether you're sitting indoors or outdoors, the ambiance is very cool, it's quiet and romantic with great chill music playing. We've always had great service (which seems hard to find in Atlanta). The menu is a great variety of tasty choices as is their extensive wine list. I've always been very fond of their bread pudding too. We'll continue to frequent this little gem in this dying strip mall in Brookhaven and hope they continue to keep up great service, food and ambiance. Good, independently owned restaurants are hard to come by here. read more

Had an amazing ladies Night at Terra. We had a 2 bottles of Rose from province recommended by James and they were amazing. The Patio is so nice, romantic , chill with very cool lights. I wish I would have discovered this place sooner. It is next to a Rite Aid, do not be discourage by the outside. Once you walk in you will feel at a total different place. The service provided by James was great. Very attentive and good with recommendations. We also had the chocolate cake with ice cream. It is very rich and good. I would recommended for sharing. Definitely too much for one person. The Brussel Sprouts were delicious with a thick dipping sauce. I got them as a side for my steak. Next time I will come here for Date Night. read more

One of my favorite little spots in the Brookhaven-area! I really can't say enough about this place, and I have never had to wait to get in. You really would never know what a cute spot it is from the outside as it is in a strip mall. The back patio is adorable for lunch with the girls and perfect for a low key date night. Recently I had the Mediterranean pasta which was very good, but not the best pasta dish I have ever had. I also love the lamb and mint burger and chicken sun dried tomato burger. The wine never disappoints and I like that they have a variety on the menu, and everything is super light and fresh. I will keep coming back! read more

Terra Terroir - Highly recommend the chocolate chip bread pudding with vanilla bean ice cream on top! - New American Near Me - Brookhaven, Georgia

We have lived in Brookhaven for years and never tried Terra Terroir. Now we're kicking ourselves for skipping it this whole time. The food was EXCELLENT. The 4 of us shared 5 "small" plates but really the plates were big enough to be considered entrees (except for the lamb). The risotto was creamy and one of our guests could have licked the bowl (I hope she's not reading this). The shrimp and grits was flavorful. The fried green tomatoes were crispy. We were elated to have gone on Monday for 1/2 price bottles of wine ($49 or less). What a great deal! 4 people at dinner and the total with a bottle of wine was approx $85 and we all left pleasantly full. The best part about the entire experience was the enchanting patio. It is covered sheltering diners from the elements and our lovely Georgia mosquitoes. The waterfalls and lush landscaping make the experience romantic and almost whimsical. Giving a 4 instead of 5 because the service was almost non-existent. Our server was pleasant... the couple of times he graced us with his presence but that was seldom. Surely it was a fluke because the other tables seemed to be tended to just fine. Looking forward to going back with my girlfriends on a Monday for wine night! read more

My review is dismal. NOT because of the food, which is good but highly priced for a strip mall restaurant. My opinion is poor because of the poor attitude of the General Manager. My book club attended the restaurant 3 separate times and had about 14 people at each event. It was fun and the food was good, Dave Foley was the one there that helped us set these events up, two were on Wednesdays and one was early on Saturday. We know 14 is a lot to set up so we schedule early or late as a courtesy. I called to set up another event and this time spoke to Mohammed Medin. Mohammed told me that I would need to put down $10 per person to hold their spot and insisted that this policy had been in place for years. Our group eats out frequently, and from Abbatoir to the Westin we have never had to 'hold our spots' with a tenner. I even told Mohammed how Dave had accommodated us and he was nonplussed. I know they are a Mom and Pop restaurant and need income, but I feel that driving stable customers away was not a wise decision. read more

The old cliche, "Never judge a book by its cover" quite suitably defines one's first impression of dining at Terra Terroir. Nestled inside a rather ordinary strip mall, one might initially dismiss Terra and regard it as a restaurant with little to offer in terms of culinary delights, but don't be fooled. Walk into the front door and straight through the restaurant's interior to the outdoor patio and you will find yourself transported to a completely different world. I dined with my colleagues here yesterday evening for a special occasion and the staff did everything they could to ensure a delectable dining experience. We started off with the Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand) which was a palate pleaser and definitely won both myself and my colleagues over immediately. The grilled portobello mushroom and spinach/mesclun greens salad were terrific for appetizers and were very good portions for sharing. I chose the chipotle-grilled shrimp over cheesy stone-ground grits and my husband savored the grilled lamb shank...both were divine and I practically licked my plate clean. Quite possibly one of the most beautiful surroundings that I have discovered in which to dine in Atlanta, Terra Terroir was the perfect setting for a wonderful meal with wonderful people. As the sun set, the peaceful and calming sound of the fountain combined with the frogs croaking made for a memorable evening. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for incredible atmosphere, wonderful cuisine, or a place to take that special someone. I know that I will definitely be back with visitors in tow! read more

They take reservations! Nice but Taken to Cold back room & not great views of the bathrooms. The food does shine here. Great wine list, nice selection of apps, entrees & unusual burgers. Try the buffalo burger or the buffalo meatloaf. The trout looked great too. The service is OK, but the food came out very slowly. The waiter disappeared for awhile is my only complaint & management only stayed up front & never ventured to the back once seated. Came here for a late lunch with some girlfriends. Although service was friendly enough, it took forever for our server to get our drinks, order, and food. Luckily my friends and I are patient people and were not in a rush to go anywhere. I got the chicken sun-dried tomato burger which was likable. My side of edamame was a little undercooked and undersalted to my liking but overall an enjoyable experience. The special of the day, crab cakes, were evidently pretty good over a salad as well. Another friend got their quesadilla and thought it was average. While we didn't sit in their outdoor patio section (way too hot to sit outside!), I did take a peep and it was indeed as cute as everyone claims it to be. read more

I came here one of those nights where I had been indoors too long, and it was a cool clear night and I really wanted to sit outside and have a glass of wine-- and Terra Terroir appeared. I had been here before, but never ate on the patio, and never for dinner. The patio is in the back, and I believe it's new. It is a really nice patio-- it almost unfolds before you... There are booths, a waterfall and each table has it's own heating tower. I ordered the mint lamb burger and a glass of wine and it was really good! The prices are reasonable for the service and ambiance that you get there. This would be a great place to take your date, and if you can, sit outside! read more
