Called to make an appointment and was told that someone would show at my door between 3-5 pm. At 4:40, no one was here so I called to confirm and got someone on the phone who was barely understandable. She told me that my appointment was merely a "request" for an appointment and I was incorrectly told that my appointment was an appointment. OK, sure, an appointment is not an appointment. The sky is not blue, it's green and little green men ARE taking over. I should expect a call the NEXT day, says the girl with marbles in her mouth wherein I will be given a REAL appointment. We hang up at around 4:30 Friday. Imagine my surprise when I get a call about 45 minutes later that same day from the Terminex technician telling me there was a mixup, that he's in my neighborhood and will be over in 15 minutes. Is that OK with me? Sure, I say. C'mon over. Fifty minutes later, at 6:05 pm there's a knock at the door. Hi, it's me from Terminex... Too bad, I say. I wouldn't use your company if termites were eating this house TO THE GROUND!! And that's my advice to you. Stay away unless you're ready for similar treatment and enjoy being treated with no respect. read more

I have had an annual Termite protection plan for the last three years which require an annual inspection to keep policy current. To be honest I haven't had much luck with the inspectors until today. Inspector Tim McDonough came on time and spent 2 1/2 hours inspecting every nook and cranny. He found two areas where I had some termite damage which he drilled and injected insecticide to kill the small colony found in time before any spreading damage. Because Tim represents TERMINIX so well, I am going to be requesting him to do my annual inspections. I am very pleased with Tim McDonough's work ethic and personable service. read more

One star is being generous. We needed repairs on our home in Simi Valley, and mistakenly hired Terminix to do the inspection and work. We had them on contract for pest service previously. We found the representative more eager to upsell the service needed than to get the work done promptly. There were also inconsistencies in the description of what fee based work was needed between their "technicians." Unfortunately, they were a convenient resource and we called them back. Something we regret. On a positive note, the workman who came were courteous, customer oriented, professional and seemed eager to take pride in their work. The problem lies squarely on management's shoulders. In short, promises for a date and time for someone to do the work were consistently not adhered to. There were stretches of time and delays requiring us to call repeatedly to get any information. Only calls directly to the District Manager brought some result. Even then, slow. On several occassions the technician arrived late, did not have time to complete the task at hand and left. Several times they would just show up, no call, no check to see if we would be home to secure our four dogs before their arrival. Other times we stayed home waiting, expecting them to show up and heard nothing. This went on for weeks, for what in reality was a minor R&R of facia board and a dozen roof tiles. (Two of which they broke and had to repair.) When they did come, the technicians seemed as frustrated as we were. They were sent to a job, requiring a return visit, only to find someone else was assigned to finish. No sense of completion. This leaves little room for a person to take pride in their work. We have cancelled our contract for pest service and will never be a customer of Terminix again. Managers, if you are reading this, do not contact me again. Your apologies are not going to solve your problems. Maybe a change in management will. read more

Dear Treminix, You keep calling me asking me how your customer serv. rep handled my problems. You have automated call back serv. asking how the serv was ? Folks there is NO secret to great customer serv. In a nut shell it's just talking with the customer Personally (NOT USING AUTOMATED SYSTEM) and finding out what makes them unhappy, then take of it. Ask the customer what will it take to make you happy( within reason). Most customers will be reasonable. The tenting serv. guys were fine BUT the after serv. ,financial dept.(billing) and the additional after serv. agreement cost were not gone over properly at the time contract signing. (Example) was told I could cancel that additional serv. if I wanted to, just be sure to do so within 30 days(there would be no charge) All I wanted was to ONLY have the house tented PERIOD. read more

I highly recommend Terminix for fumigation services. Their prices are competitive and their customer service was outstanding. Michael Garcia was very professional, courteous and thorough in inspecting our house, explaining our options, and arranging for the actual fumigation service. He checked in with us a couple of times before the service to make sure all our questions were answered. The fumigation team was also very courteous and thorough. We thought we had bagged all our food but they found some we had forgotten about and bagged them for us. Overall very pleased with the service. read more

I am also on a contract, every year the problem gets worst. This contract year, they show up on the wrong apt day. After having the inspection and told someone will call and schedule apt to treat, someone showed up to do the inspection again. Did not show someone had already been out. The person to treat came with out apt, talked bad about person that had done the inspection. Was told garage needed tented. In front of me called and scheduled time to have garage tented and explained procedures, On day of tenting, gas co had not been out to turn off gas, called 800# and was told was not on the schedule. Called local # and was told will see what happened and call back. 2 days later and no calls. I had made arrangements for the tenting and nothing. Again Terminix failed. read more

I have been with Terminix since they purchased Alterra, and usually they come out when schedule but in June and now is a different story. My scheduled maintenance appointment in June was canceled twice and supposedly completed on a day that was not scheduled. I was charged but the receipt was not left and the backyard was not sprayed because the gate was locked. No contact. I suspect it was never done. Now, we are overrun with ants. Had an appointment yesterday to have the house sprayed, no show, and not even a phone call. I call the number twice, held for 15 mins. both times, before I was answered. The ladies on the other end were very nice and tried to contact the tech and his manager both times and was not able to reach anyone. They were supposed to call me today, nothing yet, I tried calling the local number and it is forwarded to the main office. I'm a real estate broker. My client was selling their home in Oxnard, CA. They had a Terminix guarantee that they had been paying to maintain for TEN YEARS. Buyer selected their own termite company who inspected the home and found $5335 worth of remediation required. Local branch manager Tony Beas has responded only sporadically to requests to perform under the warranty, and has provided NO assistance. Seller paid the other termite company the $5335 in order to complete the sale. Mr. Beas is now ignoring our mutual client's request for reimbursement. Terminix was given every opportunity to do the work prior to having the other termite company do it. Terminix made NO attempt to actually resolve this situation despite many, many timely requests. In this case, the Terminix warranty was worthless. read more

First off let me start by saying that I tried a few other companies to try to come and see my house and Terminix was the only one to show up the same day and on time. I had termites in my house and I was scared that my investment would suffer due to these destroying bugs.Rodney showed up on time in my house, did a full home inspection as I watch and indeed I was infested. He suggested that we fume my home if I wanted to get rid of that issue. Not only that but he also suggested a preventative service to block off underground termites, I got that too. Our previous pest control company, M&M, went out of business (without notifying us) and sold the names and addresses of their accounts to Terminix. We were never told nor did we ever authorize any service. Terminix sent us a bill for 200. claiming they serviced us 2 times. Impossible since our side gates are tall and locked. I sent a claim to Better Business Bureau and Terminix then said they would "settle" for 100. I refused to pay since I never gave them permission nor had any knowledge of their service. Today we got a call that they would send us to collections if we did not pay 100. My husband gave in because he didn't want our credit ruined. TERRIBLE DISHONEST PEOPLE. I wish I could give ZERO stars! About 4 weeks ago, we heard the sound of a rat in our attic. Since we already had Terminix service for insect control, we called them for the pest exclusion service for rodents. The salesperson Drew came out to do the initial assessment. Two technicians came out about 4 days later to cover any openings in our attic and set traps in the attic. As part of the service (about $900 for one year), the technicians were supposed to clean the rat droppings. They did not because they "forgot their vacuum cleaner." They said they would come back in one week to check the traps. We had to call them three times to set an appointment. We finally got an appointment and the technician did not show up. We got another appointment time for the following day. The technician Tim arrived right on time and found one dead rat with maggots on it since it had been left in the trap so long. Tim told us to make another appointment for 1-2 weeks to check the traps again. The appointment was this morning. The technician did not show up. We left a message with the branch service manager Maurice. Maurice had contact us after the first no show to apologize. We do not need excuses we just want the technicians to show up for the appointments!! We want the service that we paid for without having maggot covered rats left in our attic because we can't get a technicians to show up. read more

The ONLY reason they are getting a star is you can't leave 0 stars. I was previously under contract with another company when Terminix bought that company out. In the 2 months since they transition have had more problems with Terminix than i did with my previous company. Let me break it down: 1) I noticed ants were coming in the home so i called to schedule an ad-hoc treatment to nip the problem before it becomes worse. I called, scheduled the treatment and waited. I waited for 8 hours and made 3 phone calls to the company and no one showed up. It wasn't until the 4th and final phone call that someone finally told me the person who was supposed to treat my home had quit his job that morning and they had never bothered to send someone else out to do the treatment. I was told a manager would call me to scheduled a new treatment. 2) 3 days have passed and i haven't heard back from the branch manager, so i called again. I was told they can schedule a service and they will spray the inside and outside. I asked for the earliest appointment and was told they would be here between 8-11. So i waited. Waited until 12:30 and called back and was told he was "on his way now". So again i waited, waited another 2 hours and nothing. I finally had to leave and when i returned to the home an hour later the guy finally showed up and left a report at my door. He stayed less than 3 mins and claimed to had serviced my house. Keep in mind it's 2000 sq ft so how he was able to print out the report and spray the entire outside in under 3 mins is beyond me. 3) The very next day i started to see spiders. Big black garden spiders. Spiders I hadn't seen in my home in the 4 years i was with the other company. And not to mention the ants. I had ants everywhere. So i called them again 4) After making several calls i was told i can either pay for another service (even though it was their error) or i can wait for my regular scheduled on that was happening the next week. So i waited, i figured i can handle the nuisance for 1 week and besides i was going on vacation so waiting would work out perfectly. 5) The scheduled day of service is coming up, i call to confirm and the automated service says they have me scheduled and gave the date and time of service. The date of service came and again I waited. No one showed up. I made 3 calls and got no call back and no return service. After all this i still decided to give them another shot and when i called to voice my concerns i was told "well then just cancel our service if you aren't happy, and that is just what i did. Cancelled ,my service and now i'm with Western Exterminator. They have the best service customer service and were very friendly. I would NEVER recommend Terminix to anyone!! read more

No stars!! Do not use this company!! I wish I had looked at the reviews before calling them. They are at the point where they will no longer take my calls. When I call the 800 number I just get put on hold till I finally hang up. I tried getting in touch with management but can't get thru to anyone. I found out they are franchised from service center and tried contacting them for help. No luck. They make it so you have to call a central place where nobody helps you. They are condescending and lie. They don't show when they say and when they do don't do the job properly. But they can call you to ask for payment. My aunt is 67 years old and lives by herself. A strange horrible smell turned up in the house and we suspected a dead animal. Although we suggested otherwise my aunt contacted these clowns be because my grandma used them back in the day. Anyway they came inspected the attic and told her she had dead rats and feces littered in there. They said it would require removal of all debris and insulation for cleanup and cost around $7000. After talking with us she called the company my mom suggested who then referred her to an animal specialist who came and inspected the attic. To her surprise there were no rats and no feces. He felt so bad that for her he only charged her $45 for scouring the attic and underneath the house. We suspect a dead animals in the wall so will just have to wait until it fully decomposes. It is unbelievable in a time of Internet publicity that a company feels they can get away with such deceitful tactics. My aunt lives a very modest life and takes care of my uncle. She wouldn't have that kind of money and to think a predator franchise like this would try and take advantage. So disgusting. Off to the BBB to file a complaint. read more

I'm sad that I have to do this review, because I gave the local Ventura Oxnard people every chance. I finally, after waiting on six different occasions for them to show up during a two-hour window, got somebody out to my house. I called the main office when no one showed up by called to complain, I called again and again. Finally I found a local number to call and I called them and they assured me someone would come. They texted, promised and called back to cancel or stood me up. I finally got a hold of a Regional supervisor, the supervisor assured me someone would come. This was followed by more postponements. So I called back the main office and they contacted the local Regional supervisor, they apologized and said they didn't know that the tech didn't ever show up. Finally someone showed up. They didn't seem to know what had been noted by the inspectors or where to treat.. good thing we told them. It's really sad because I run a business and this would never go that far*sigh* read more

In my 30 plus years as a homeowner, this is definitely the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with.

This is the worst company I have ever contacted to do business with.  Not only did we schedule for fumigation on the 12-3-15 called and confirmed on the 12-1-15 and even confirmed via text to their rep Thomas the night before to confirm pick up of the keys just for them to give us a call 2 days later after booking and paying for our room for 3 days that they made a mistake on the date and wanted us to reschedule. Many attempts to get some kind of compensation for the $395.00 hotel cost that we had to be put up for the 1st fumigation. In order for Justin the manager at the local Ventura, CA branch to be able to do something, we had to set another date which was 1-11-16. We waited a few weeks to hear back from the him.  I called him 1-6-16 cause we never heard back about the compensation. He had to call me back so he could follow up with his manager to see what could be done. Mind you plenty of time had gone by for him to do this and already have an answer for me. I waited two days and nothing. I left him a message in the morning of 1-8-16 and let him know if I didn't hear back or was unable to help me I would go higher up. He eventually called me back in the afternoon. He was only authorized from his manager to compensate $150.00. I let him know to cancel the 1-11-16 fumigation date  to give us time to think if we wanted to except there offer of compensation. I rescheduled for 1-18-16 and even received a call back to confirm the date and let me know that 1-18-16 is MLK Day and the gas company would be closed so we were set for 1-19-16 fumigation. We just got home on the 1-11-16 from our commute from work with our toddler and infant child to a freezing house because terminx had our gas shut down for a fumigation that never took place and now have to wait until midnight with no heater or hot water for my daughter.  I expected more from a creditable nation wide fumigation company. I recommend you save your time and money and choose a different fumigation company. If they want to make this right, they will call my husband back at the phone number listed. read more

I have a buyer purchasing a home in Agoura Hills. Terminix provided the sellers a termite inspection in January and since it is NOT the same report that we require for an escrow, the sellers had Terminix come for a reinspection and they wanted to charge $7,800.00 for wood work! We got a a second opinion with another termite company. Their total cost including painting the wood is $4,100.00. Don't use Terminix! read more

LIARS AND SCAMS!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! If I could give zero stars I would. Shortly after I called for a quote (but had yet to make an appointment) I received a call from another person claiming he worked for them and asked what he could do to help me make the decision to go with their service. I told him that $170 was way too much for what I was asking them to do, he offered me $89 and told me that he could send someone out "tomorrow morning between 8-10," which was a Friday, so because I had work, a friend of mine waited in my driveway from 8-10 and nobody even showed up. I called the same guy back at 9:50 and told him what was going on, he sounded apologetic and said he'd figure it out then call me back in 5 min. I called him 15 times that day and he never once answered my calls again. I called corporate offices and they didn't even know who he was! Corporate called me to tell me that they were "sorry" and that nobody could even come until Saturday, but they would put me down as an "urgent need" and possibly someone could come that night and that they would get back to me "within an hour." That call happened at 10:30am. I received a call back at 4pm stating that they could come later that evening for $170. WORST service ever. Hydrex was $99. read more

CONSUMERS BEWARE I signed a $1,000 contract for rodent exclusion with Terminix on Feb 22, 2017 since I had a monthly exterior service contract with them. The technician came to my home on Feb 23rd to do the work. Unfortunately the salesman did not communicate with him so the scope of the work was unknown and a large portion was not completed and another date had to be set. Here is what happened and how Terminix handles jobs and clients: Feb 25th I take the day off work and the technician comes back but brings the wrong materials and can't do the work. 3rd appointment set up for March 4th between 8-10 a.m. March 4th I take another day off work. No one shows up and I wait until noon to call Terminix to see what is going on. I find out that they unilaterally changed the appointment to Monday March 6th. Now remember they never called about the cancellation or rescheduling. I call the Office Manager and complain and he apologized and assured me that he will take care of everything so the work will be done on the 6th. March 6th I take another day off work. The technician calls me in the morning but has no idea why he is coming out! I call the Office Manager again and inform him that their tech has no idea of why he is coming out and has no parts. He then tells me that they are going to subcontract the job out and a local contractor that they have a relationship with and they would be out between 1-2:00 p.m. to do the work. At 3:30 a Terminix technician, not the subcontractor, shows up with a myriad of store bought items in an attempt to fix the problem ... did not work. Called the Office Manager back and questioned first why did the subcontractor not show up, and second why did their tech come back 6 hours late with the wrong parts again. He reassured me that he would contract the subcontractor and have them come out on Tuesday the 7th between 2-3 p.m. At this point I escalate the problem to the corporate offices back East. They tell my I have to first go to the Branch Manager. The Terminix operator tries calling him...no answer...they email him my request and file on what is going on and tell me he will be getting back to me within 24 hours. March 7th I take another day off work. Subcontractor comes out looks at the job and tells me they have to order the parts and could return on March 8th. Since 24 hours had passed I call Terminix back since the Branch Manager did not contact me. They then say that it's not 24 hours but 48 hours to return a call. I wait two more days and the Branch Manager never calls. I also receive a bill for $1,000 and when I call I find out why they did not know what the tech did with my check! March 9th I call Terminix back and inform them that the Branch Manager did not contact me and its been 72 hours and I want to escalate my file and contact the Regional Manager. They try calling him ... no answer, they email him with my request and their file on me. They tell me it will take 24 hours. When I ask about the 24 hours and tell them the prior operator said 48 hours I was told it's corporate policy that contact must be within 24 hours. First operator lied. March 10th I call the Corporate Office back since the Regional Manager never called. I told the contact to read my file and they would see what was going on. They were polite but not interested in any other action than what has already been done. I never heard from the Branch or Regional Manager. Now I'm a partner in the second highest selling real estate brokerage in Los Angeles County, and we work with all of the extermination companies every single day. The five stars are for Tim from the Ventura Office and not the company as a whole. I am a fairly new customer and had had two visits from the local contractors; I have both the termite and pest control contract, and in truth was thinking of terminating the contract as the first couple of visits had not really inspired any confidence in the service, however Tim came out after I requested a visit due to an increase in ants. Tim was very knowledgeable and had advice to offer about general pest control as well as specifics to my house and garden. I'll be keeping the contract now following Tim's visit, but think the company should ensure that all contractors work to same high standards as the company advertises and markets to customers. read more

He explained to us closing of the door could knock some remnant of old droppings from inside the wood. Treated it and told us to monitor for any activities and call him for service. i had the annual ant protection and they talk me into doing termite inspection. They stated we had a lot of termites. We spent close to $5000. For the different termites. Then a year later, they wanted $500. to check on the termites. I stated NO, I have spent enough money and there should be a guarantee with the original cost. They kept emailing me appt. times to check on the termites. I called them several times and told them no, all I wanted was the ant service. They were very rude on the phone and finally canceled the termite service. They sent me a email showing that we canceled. They ended up also canceling the ant service too. I called several times with no response back. Do not use this company, they try and talk you into items that are not necessary. They are total rip offs. read more

I recently had a pest problem in my garage so I called this Terminix and they were very helpful with getting my house serviced!

I have never felt that I have been treated so poorly by any other company than I have been with Terminix. I was told I had rodents and rodent feces in my garage and attic and it would take $1600 to fix the problem. I was told a team of technicians would need 5 hours to take care of my problem and that it would require heavy duty equpment. A team of 2 showed up- 1 a technician and the other a clueless intern recently hired to learn the process. They needed 2.5 hours. They had NO equipment. They used bleach and borrowed my broom, my pan and my hose- all 3 were ruined and had to be discarded. They did not even have a vacuum. When I called Terminix to complain I was blown off by the original inspector and turned over to the Sales Manager, Rick, who said he would come out to my home the next day at 11AM. I had to call him the next day at 3 to remind him of our appointment. He showed up and said he had to speak with other personnel and would return the next day again at 11 to resolve this problem. The next day he did not show up and I called him again at 3 but he never got on the phone. I called him the following day and I still have not yet heard from him. I am willing to pay a reasonale amount but not the outragous $1600. But I have noone to respond to. I will try to reach higher level management and if unsuccessful I will contactr corporate officers in Tennessee. Seems a shame since I am in Agoura Hills read more

How do these people stay in business?!?!?! Constantly setting appointment times, wasting my time waiting for them and they just do not show up. To make the situation worse, they do not even have the professionalism to call me and at least try to make up an excuse (dog ate my keys, it is too sunny outside i.e.) as to why they did not show up. I ended up finally firing them from doing my pest control services. Unfortunately, I did not fire them before they fumigated my house for termites. The task included a termite re-inspection after one year. Now do not get me wrong, I know that this "re-inspection" is going to be a sales pitch for more services, but it was included in my fumigation quote. So here is the latest, I set up the inspection for 8-25-14 between 10:00 am and noon. On 8-22-14, I receive an email CONFIRMING my appointment the following Monday. Not surprisingly, no one shows up nor does anyone call me to tell me what is going on. I wait until 4:00 pm and make a call to find out what happened. As is ALWAYS the case, although I live in California the phone number takes me back East to the other side of the country (I think it was Tennessee) to talk to a representative over there. I ask (as I have in the past) for a number to the office responsible for my job, but am told that they do not have a direct line. I go through all of my information and they make a call for me telling me that no one is answering, BUT this phone call is important and that she is sending them my situation and insisting that I get a call from them the next day. I check my cell, my house phone and my work phone at 3:00 pm the next day for messages and, NOT surprisingly, no one has called me back. I make my back East call again and I try to get a hold of a Supervisor of some sort and lo and behold, I am transferred to a voice mail. I am not leaving a message because they do not get returned so I call back East again and am eventually told that the Manager is in a meeting and asked if I would like to stay on line for about 5 minutes. I tell her, politely, that I have wasted enough of my time with this situation and to tell her manager to call me at the number that I gave her when her manager gets out of the meeting. It has been 20 minutes as of now and I am still waiting............DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!! read more

Absolutely the worst service I have ever experienced. I enrolled in termite protection and they called me to schedule an inspection. Terminix requires a two-hour window so I scheduled a weekday appointment (taking time off work). The technician never showed up nor did he/she call to let me know they weren't coming. I rescheduled the appointment for a Saturday and requested a specific time and was told "we can't do that" so I reluctantly agreed to another two-hour window, and again, the technician did not show up (or call). Lori, the Service Manager, called me the following week (after I left a message with their call center) and said there was a scheduling error and the technician wasn't scheduled to work on the day of my second appointment and gave me an insincere apology. When I asked what happened with the first appointment she had no idea. I again agreed to reschedule the appointment a third time and insisted on an exact time. Lori agreed and took my cell phone number and told me the technician would call to confirm before he arrived. I arrived 15 minutes before the appointment and there was a message on my home answering machine from the technician saying he was at my house as the appointment was over a two-hour window. I called the technician and explained the appointment was for a specific time and he said "we don't do that." I just left a message with Lori, the Service Manager, demanding a refund.
