We had Terminex inspect our home and then paid $800.00. We now have a closet attic outer beams in two areas with termite droppings. They came a second time and supposedly treated two outer closet doors. Termite droppings everywhere. I called corporate and the said the local company would call us to schedule retreatment. Have not heard a word for over a week. The guy that did the inspection lied to me about the roof line and two outer closets. I'm contacting corporate again. This is really really bad service. NIGHTMARE COMPANY!!! This only positive I can say about this company is it's representative Chris V. Chris was most patient and fully explained the different services offered. He did explain that he was relatively new with Terminix, however he was really so patient and pleasant and did not try to hard sell us, that the next day we decided to go with the Terminix company. After signing our contracts, the following day the company sent out Chris to try to up sell me and would not honor our contract. To say the least I was most surprised. This is really an unethical business practice. Similar to the days of the aluminum siding scams. I attempted to call there office but you only get the 800 number that goes to a very polite central answering service that apologizes and assures you that the manager, Asani will call you the next day. That has never happened. It is impossible to call the local office, they hide behind voicemail systems and their national contact center. This experience has been a nightmare and still continues. Rodney Nash was in charge of our account from the beginning and has not been honest or professional. We have a contract that was not backed by Terminix in any way. Their employees were late and damaged our ceiling while installing insulation. When contacted we got the run around. Finally we said just give us our money back (1000.00) so we can fix it ourselves. We were told by someone at Corporate Terminix that would happen then Rodney called to say no, maybe 700.00, but no nothing. We realized that they did not block the side vent next to our heater and the wall is filled with insulation. We cannot run our Heater and I am totally disgusted with this. As promised, the corporate office did follow through and continue to follow up on a regular basis until the issue was resolved. They also compensated me fairly for my inconvenience. I would give them five stars. After the corporate office got involved, the local office did call, eager to resolve the issue. They set an appointment and arrived on schedule, completing the work needed. All in all, it shouldn't have had to escalate the way it did but the work was ultimately completed to my satisfaction. This company sells your 2 to 7 years service maintenance. Be aware that if you don't pay all the money in advance (close to $3,000) they make you sign with a shark loan company at 18% interest rate and if they tell you it is transferrable, this is not true. It is transferrable only to the new person who occupies the home you sign for. Who would pay for somebody else. I tried to cancelled as I moved out of California and live now in Florida and they refused. Now I am liable for a loan, for a service I do not have anymor (was for 7 years), after only 1 year and half. I just made a complaint to BBB and if I do not have a resolution, I will go to the small court. read more

The local Ventura Terminix was terrible we had 10am-12pm appointment called at 10am to confirm they said they couldn't get hold of the tech. Then we called again at 11:30 still had no status on the tech .. he never showed up and Terminix said the tech was not responding to calls. We made the appointment week prior! Waste of our time. All they could do was apologize and ask if we wanted to make another appointment for 10 days out. Waste of our day! And still have the problem. read more

Shocked and surprised!! Here is the update as of 9/12/14 You will not believe this... The branch manager took personal responsibility for my experience and has apologized. He said he fired the original contractors and brought on a new company to make all of the repairs. \ The area on the roof that was never repaired has since been handled... The pergola... The new contractor pointed out that the pergola wasn't safe because the bolts had never been tightened down. It did sway back and forth, but it seemed okay. It didn't move too much because it was really heavy, but when you really pushed on it, OMG very scary. Someone could have been seriously or critically injured. They rebuilt most of the pergola and it loos so good. They did everything they promised to do, even things that weren't part of the original deal. They did all of the messy work at their shop and then brought it to the house ready to install. No more destroyed landscaping, no more hidden scraps on the lawn waiting to be thrown by the lawn mower. The last item we're waiting for is a replacement spa cover. The previous crew piled their lumber on top of it causing it to break. I only mentioned it casually to the manager when he came out to the house as I was pointing out all of the damage done by his contractors and the areas that were missed. He offered to replace it and is now working on it. In my experience, you rarely find a business taking responsibility for problems and making things right. I felt that was the case with Terminix. My initial Yelp! review/rant reached the right people and they made it right. Prior to my review, I called corporate, I called the branch, I called neighboring branches.. Nothing. When the branch manager came to the house after my Yelp! review, he told me he was out for a brief time due to a major auto accident and wasn't made aware of any problems and thought everything was fine. It's a shame that his staff isn't empowered or interested in properly handling issues in their bosses absence. I have a feeling that may be different going forward. I am shocked that all of this is being taken care of, I wrote this company off. Terminix made this right. I will give them another shot. read more

Beyond poor customer service. I scheduled an appointment on 7/11 for today (7/15). Appointment time was 10a-12p. Called at 12:05 since I hadn't heard or seen anything. The agent said he would have the technician give me a call. I asked if the manager on duty could call me instead. It's now 8:45pm and I still haven't received a call. In addition to this, I called the number at 7:15pm, hoping to get some clarification and I listened to their on-hold message for twenty-four minutes - 24 minutes! At the end of the 24 minute hold, the message tells me that the office hours are until 5pm CT and then ended my call. That would have been nice to know 23 minutes prior. Terminix acquired the local pest control company we were using and I'm not a happy customer. If you have the opportunity, stay local. I know I will be changing to have a local company help me and my family. Especially since I just got cellulitis from a spider bite. Maybe if Terminix did they job, I wouldn't have gotten a spider bit! read more

Avoid at all costs! First they scheduled the tenting for the wrong day, which set me back from moving in so I had to change those arrangements, then after they did tent the house, they broke the rain gutters and sprinklers! If that wasn't bad enough, even though I paid up front, I got a bill for the full amount AGAIN. I reached out and they said it was their mistake and would take care of it. I kept getting mail and was told to ignore them as they were a mistake. Today I get a call from a collections agency saying it hadn't been paid! I called he office and they saw in the system that it was cleared and that no money was due. They said that they would call and tell them to not call me anymore. This was a nightmare from the beginning and trust me when I say that this is the end... oh and I still have bugs and termites. read more

The technician who came out was good. The company itself is unethical and sadly, like most businesses in the USA, is ONLY concerned about profit. We had a one year contract, and moved after half the year was over. We had 2 service calls remaining. We asked for a refund of the difference. Nope. We asked if they could transfer the service to our new address. They said they would, but they never did. Lots of delaying, ignoring and basically as actions speak louder than words, they never showed up at our new address. Most companies in this sector can control pests; best to find one that isn't going to take your money and run. Horrible customer service as well. read more

If the system allowed me to give them minus stars or zero, I would! Total lack of concern, customer service, zero follow up & no shows for promised service with other continual problems contacting the company. Pre paid for a year's pest control (ants, other insects) "service". I have had Terminix service for ants for the past 10-12 years. Their service was always mediocre at best. In spite of dozens of request & complaints about their seldom contacting us in advance (we have large dogs) they almost always showed up unannounced. Our contract included additional free services to spray for ants etc. in between quarterly visits if ants became a problem. We had a large infestation indoors last week (late August 2017) & called for an additional visit. We were told our next scheduled visit was mid September & they would move that up to the following day (Aug 31) at 8-10 AM. They no showed without any notification at all. I called them about noon that same day & they told me they were sorry & after complaining & asking to be put through to a supervisor, I was told Supervisor Maurice Johnson was issuing a credit to our account & they would reschedule the same time the following day (Sep 1). Again the next day, they no showed with no notification. I made NO LESS than 11 calls to their listed local Ventura, CA office between Aug 31-Sep 1 & spent at least 2 hours on either hold or was cut off numerous times. When I did get through, I later found out it was to their central switchboard far from CA. If & on the attempts I made that did get through to them, there was always an excuse about high call volume & then almost 10 minutes of the same sing song recording about all their "services" so at best every call was delayed about 10 minutes OR MORE before I ever talked to anyone. After their second no show on Friday, Sep 1, I asked to be put through to another manager. One of their recordings said my next service would be a full week later, Sep 7 but that was never confirmed nor did they ever tell me that. I simply heard it on one of their numerous recordings. Meanwhile we had ants all over our home from our bed to another bedroom to my home office & all over the kitchen & family room. On this last call I initiated to them, the manager I spoke with was named Mark he was totally obnoxious, & refused to give me any other info other than the name Mark. I told him I was firing Terminix, their service was a total disservice & that i wanted my prepaid remaining balance refunded as well as the measly $50 credit the prior supervisor had added to my credit balance. He refused anything more than my pre paid balance & since my credit card had been cancelled by me & a new one with a new number had been issued by the credit card company, the only way they would refund my balance was by check in 4-6 weeks. After this last contact I had with him, I immediately called a very reputable company & hired them. They came out within an hour at 4PM on Friday Sept 1of Labor Day weekend & did a FAR FAR better job than Terminix ever did. The rep spoke English & was here spraying at least 3 times as long as any Terminix service we ever received. He was FAR more thorough than they ever were by a long long shot. The indoor infestation of ants we had been dealing with for almost a week were gone in less than 8 hours & have still not shown any activity 4 days later. Terminix is a problem company. I don't know how they are outside our local area but I would not use them for anything ever again. Upon checking various ratings on them nationally, they get very poor ratings & I can see why. In short, they are a rip off & are totally unreliable, do not live up to their own promises or contracts & contacting them is painful & far too tedious. Further at their so called supervisory levels, they are not customer oriented. I tried to get the first supervisor i mentioned above to talk to me directly & asked that he call me directly after their second daily no show & he never did. They are only good at making excuses, & have zero follow through &/or actual concerns for their customers & I was one of their longtime customers. read more

I decided to change my rating as I recently came home to ants in my kitchen. I immediately called Terminix and left a message to call me as I purchased one year of service and it wasn't time for the second treatment. I checked outside and found the line of ants coming into the house and sprayed. I then sprayed my kitchen counter, waited awhile and then cleaned up. The next day there were more ants and I had to go through the routine of spraying and cleaning again. I realize with the heat we've been having, it's possible to get some ants, but there's no excuse for a company to not respond to their customers. VERY disappointed. read more

We have been with Terminix for many years. We recently had some activity with rats outside. I called Terminix and they came out immediately and did a thorough check. A detailed report was generated and sent to us. Terminix worked with us on financing, gave us a $100 coupon and two service professionals were here the next day! John and Junior were polite, professional and extremely knowledgeable. They cleaned up after themselves and we even learned a few things!! I have had the Terminex Termite Plan for several years and I am completely satisfied. If termites are found the damage is repaired and areas treated. An annual inspection is completed every year. If warranted a entire house tent treatment is covered by the plan. I have had this covered by the plan once in the 15 years with the plan and the annual fee was well worth the price. I have had other damage treated repaired and treated as needed and Terminex always was fast, efficient, and professional. read more

Honestly, the only reason that I award a single star to this dreadful and unreliable company is because Yelp requires at least one star. Just awful. If you read my previous review you will understand. The review prompted a same-day call from a new manager, Maurice, who proclaimed himself as the one who had come in to fix the operation and take care of customers. I explained that we had more than $20k in termite damage despite having been continuous Terminix customers for five years. Maurice sent a photographer who agreed that we had active termites. Maurice promised that on December 1st, his company would fumigate our home at no cost to us and asked me to gather receipts so that he could work on refunds for us. Impressive. But this week, three days before our scheduled fumigation, Maurice went back on his word and tried to put the blame on the customer for the termites. No fumigation and no refunds for money spent. You should know that Terminix's "Ultimate Termite Protection" excludes certain types of termites which you, the customer, are presumably supposed to recognize. Imagine that in any other business. Many Terminix representatives who have come to my wooden home in a rural area have agreed that the company should have told me what their company would/would not cover before signing my family on as customers. Maurice, the manager, agreed as well but this shady company does not respect its customers. Watch as they lose more and more business to ethical providers. read more

I just scrolled through the reviews and could kick myself for not looking at Yelp reviews before hiring this company. Put me in the same camp of people who wished they could give less than 1 star! Shortly after my husband died in July 2015 I found it necessary to take care of termites that we had been noticing but because of his illness never did anything about. Unfortunately, I just grabbed the first thing that came up in my Google search. Called the company and they couldn't get out to check my house fast enough. Before I knew it I was signed up to the tune of $3,600! I paid the entire amount and hoped for the best. My sales guy (Tom F.) literally disappeared after signing me up. He was supposed to stay in touch and be sure that I was getting my house prepared for tenting. I was never able to contact him and finally heard from him once before the big event. If you've never had your house tented, let me assure you that it is definitely an extremely stressful BIG EVENT! Fast forward to October 2016. As part of the contract, I was told that for the next three years the company would come out and do a re-check to be sure there was no recurrence of the infestation. I started trying to contact someone for an appointment and it became evident to me that this was not something the company was really committed to doing because it was IMPOSSIBLE to get someone to make the appointment. I would call the local office in Ventura and suddenly, without notice, I was talking to someone in Arizona. The person in Arizona told me my contract had been cancelled . . . by me . . . and then she would tell me to hold for a moment. And then someone else was on the line asking me to say why I was calling and I had to repeat my story. This continued through several representatives until I was finally cut off to a dial tone. I continued calling every few days or so and received the same result. No one ever answered the phone at the local office, so finally in my frustration the other day I got in my car and drove to the office and spoke with the manager. He checked his computer, saw that my contract was NOT cancelled, and I was able to make the appointment for the re-check. That was supposed to be today. Someone just called to cancel that appointment, now I have to wait another two weeks for someone to come out. The frustration never ends! I repeat my advice . . . I'm amazed at these reviews. I had my house tented and they were wonderful. Prices are pretty much the same across the board but I went with terminex because they are the heavy weight brand and I couldn't be happier. They helped talk me through the process because I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. They also followed up a couple of weeks later to check I was happy with their service. My contract with Terminix to eradicate rodents for my home and gophers off my property has been a nightmare. They don't honor the financed contract which they signed. Their technicians show up only a fraction of the times that they scheduled to come out. When they do come, they often don't have the supplies they need to perform their work. They have come late and left early. They don't notify you that they won't be keeping their appointments. I thought (as agreed) the work I'd paid thousands of dollars for would have been completed within 2 months of hiring them. It is now 5 months and only about 1/3 completed. It's nearly impossible to schedule visits to the property and when you call Mr. Hussani Thompson--the Regional Manager in Ventura county--to describe the situation, he doesn't return your call until 3 weeks later and only replies "that's unfortunate." No solutions have been offered, whatsoever, by him or anyone else I've attempted to reach. Terminix has a terrible and unprofessional business model with abysmal customer service. DO NOT RECOMMEND. As I write this review I am currently on hold after going through their phone maze and after calling multiple times to the local office with no one picking up the phone. I was originally scheduled for eta of 2-4pm, at 3 pm I receive a call stating that due to the recent time change they were not going to make it before dark and therefore the service needed to be changed for the next day. I took the day off from work and had scheduled hotel accommodations. Finally after calling the corporate office a nicer woman picked up reached out to the branch manager, general manager & contractor and was not able to get a hold of either one of them. I am currently waiting to hear from the local office but so far nothing. I will be filing a notice with my credit card company to assure none of the charges do not go through and filing an appeal for the company to pick up the charges on my now non refundable hotel accommodations. Had I known all of this was going to occur the way it's happening. I could have obtain a refund or changed the dates on my hotel reservations. But No! Instead I get notified the day of. I will post an update if I hear back. Also Steve was our Rep & he as well did not answer to assist in any way. He was sure here when the contract was getting done but now no where to be seen. Update to this horrible mess is they didn't even up showing up on the scheduled day as stated previously. When our Rep Steve called back the negotiation was an offer to upgrade your policy insurance to 1 more year which if you as ask me is mediocre because a home is usually recomended to be fumigated every 10 years on average so what is one more year going to do for me anyway. Instead I proposed terminex pay for an extra night at the hotel in order to accommodate their delay in service. The Rep attempted to give me his word, I said no after what I've gone through this afternoon what is your word going to do for me. We had a contract and you didn't abide by it. Instead I asked terminex call the hotel and pay for the extra night. Once I called the hotel to confirm terminex had done so they said they had sent a fax authorizing for the wrong date... the date I already paid for instead of a date in addition to my existing reservation. It seems this issue is going to get resolved which is why I've given them 1 more stars. This company really can't seem to get their act together with the dates it's quite ridiculous. Absolutely horrific establishment. Don't let them service your house. We had them recently install insulation in our attic and were NEVER advised it was spray insulation. They began spraying the entire attic with such negligence, not caring what was sprayed, including our $15,000 heating unit that was newly installed. Some spots are 6" in height and some are over 18". There is no uniformity. When We called to complain that the salesman never notified us it was spray installation, the manager Tony, said he would have his crew bring plywood and cover everything up. They never showed up and they never returned our 3 phone calls! The spray insulation is now flowing through our house through our air vents and causing a health concern. This has moved from a nuisance to a health, hazard and legal matter. Don't do business with them! read more

Absolutely the WORST customer service! I have attempted 3 calls to Terminex to order a termite report for my client. Fist time they told me that someone would call me back (never happened). Second call was a 4 attempt nightmare through their phone maze. Third call was picked up by a rude Terminex employee who would not take the order as I wasn't the homeowner. My experience with Terminix thus far has been nothing short of a nightmare. I can't believe that this place is still in business considering the way they treat their customers. I called over a month and a half ago asking if they would send somebody to assist with a gopher problem I am having. At that time it was literally just that... one single gopher. After many "assessments", numerous appointments where nobody showed up, and over 15 phone calls made by me in an attempt to reach them, I am now being told they are unable to help. "The hill is too unstable". I have to ask at this point, "why would you wait this long to send somebody to actually handle the situation instead of taking care of it when you originally said you would?" I was then told by one of the managers that my hill was more than likely always unstable and just because I said otherwise was simply hearsay. Now, I am beyond upset. Not only did this guy just call me a liar, but he is also refusing to email me an itemized list of the work that I am being charged for. He would only tell me over the phone what the breakdown of my bill is, which totally differed from the bill I received via email and the paper bill I got in the mail. I responded to his accusations of being untruthful simply by asking how his other technicians could have found the other problems which existed on the hill if they were unable to walk on it due to the "unstable condition" it was in. I also mentioned that I had taken a video of that first gopher hole and it clearly shows the hill, the date and time I took the video and more importantly, that there was only one visible hole. Now there's over ten in that one small portion of the hill. I have counted over 25 holes all together and I am certain there are many more. I would have called someone who would have followed through with their part of the contract had I have known this was going to happen. Terminix should really rethink having people like Justin as a manager. He obviously has no management skills and he is definitely not a personable man. I will make sure everyone knows the way terminix has treated me and I will be referring anybody but them. read more

Worst service I've ever had. They were scheduled to come out to my house between 5-7pm on a wed and they never showed up. So I gave them a call and told them what had happend. They put me on hold for 15 minutes to try and get ahold of the Tech. They came back and told me they couldn't reach him. So they put me on hold again to try and get ahold of a manager. They couldn't get ahold of him also. Then they tell me a manager will give me a call in the morning and I said fine ok. Nobody ever got ahold of me the next morning so I gave them a call once again and talked to a lady that did nothing but give me the run around. She put me on hold to get a manager. She came back on and told me that the manager aranged for someone to come out once again between 5-7pm. I was like here we go again and sure enough nobody ever showed up. I gave them a call and they told me that they had to reschedule at the last minute and that they wont be out until saturday. Nobody gave me a call to let me know. 2 Days of wasted time. So if your considering Terminix DON'T DO IT. And on top of that instead of them dealing with the situation they cancelled my service before that Saturday stating that I requested it and I never did. read more

The next day, a seemingly true professional came over and spent 30 minutes giving us a full assessment of the situation. It seemed reasonable, we signed a one year contact, and we set an appointment for service the next day. Guess what? No show. We made a call to the manager who inspected our property, and also the office who was going to call the manager. No return calls. We did not got to work, as we anticipated their visit. I was smart enough to send the cancellation form the same day via FedEx to the company with proof I cancelled within the 3-day waiting period. THEN, I read the reviews. Run away from Terminix!!! My 7 contract was a joke. It began in 2007 when I moved out of my house for my scheduled tenting and no one showed up. They claimed I had the wrong date, however all of my paperwork had this particular date. That was the begining and the next 7 years were a joke. Just avoid them if you don't want to be frustrated.
