My experience with Terminix had been such a nightmare up until I met Maurice Johnson. He has bent over backwards to try and resolve an issue that has been ongoing for almost a year now. I was never able to get a hold of anyone before and on the rare occasions I did reach someone, nothing was resolved. Maurice has made it a priority to answer my calls, call me back when he says he will and he has even gone as far as coming out to my home to assess the situation. He is definitely an asset to the company and I am forever grateful for his help because I know that without him, I would still be calling everyday attempting to resolve the problem. My family has been with Terminix for decades. Now I am looking for a new pest control company. Terminix is all right so long as you don't need anything from them. A few days ago, I noticed a large insect with wings that I mistook for a moth. It disappeared behind my refrigerator. I don't worry about moths. However, when it emerged again in my kitchen 20 minutes later, I took a closer look and realized it was a large, winged cockroach. I escorted it outside and thought no more about it. When you order as much from Amazon as I do, there are bound to be some stowaway insects. Four days later, I began seeing tiny, winged bugs coming out from the bottom of the fridge. I believe that roach laid eggs within the warmth of the refrigerator, and they were now hatching. I called Terminix after seeing the sixth one and the recording said "all operators were busy, but we'll take your number and return your call." They never did. This morning, I called the Ventura home office and explained the problem. I was told it would 8 days before someone would be available to come out. This is a possible infestation, which I consider an emergency. I am a long-term customer paying pricey rates for their "service," and received no consideration for this. I have a rep that comes quarterly to spray the outside and they wouldn't even pull him off the schedule to come and take a look. And on that note, Terminix goes through field reps like Kleenex. No point in getting to know anyone because that person will soon be gone. More than one rep has told me that Terminix treats its employees poorly and I really believe that........And one more thing.......the annual "termite" inspection is nothing more than a ruse - an attempt to upsell the customer on something that they really don't need......If there was a "minus 1" review choice, that's what I would have awarded Terminix. read more

We needed a termite inspection, NOT for a sale. Terminix made an appointment, but then called to say they had "overbooked" (it's THEIR book - how do they even do that???). The gentleman my wife spoke to rescheduled us for a two-hour window. He missed it by an hour, which was enough for us to decide they were unreliable. Incidentally, he claimed to have us down for a different "window", but HE was the person we spoke to who had rescheduled us! Fortunately there are many other companies performing this service. read more

From the moment I contacted them for pest control services, I encountered issues. First, it was nearly impossible to get a timely appointment scheduled. It took numerous phone calls and a lot of waiting on hold just to get someone to speak with. The technician was six hours late on one occasion then a "No Show" on numerous occasions. When the technician finally arrived, he seemed disinterested and rushed through the construction , didn't explain or show us the completed job! Not only did they fail to identify the root of the pest problem, but they also left a mess behind, making me question their professionalism. The real nightmare began when I tried to address these issues with their customer service department. The manager at this location, has no free room to leave him a voicemail. Texting to other employees was like talking to a brick wall, and it felt like they were trying to avoid taking responsibility for their mistakes. It took weeks and numerous follow-up calls just to get a semblance of a response from the manager. Regional manager has never responded to phone calls or email. The lack of accountability and communication from Terminix was astounding. It's clear that they prioritize sales over customer satisfaction, and it's beyond disappointing. They charged $2,000 for this mess. Used my 88 year old mother's patio chairs as a saw horse to lay the heavy fascia board scraping the chairs & splashing paint on her furniture! Instead of repairing the botched job that Terminex Guaranteed would look identical to the perfect mitered facia boards, we were told to hire a handyman to fix their work! (They promised a refund that we will need to pay a licensed professional!) Completely and totally unacceptable! Furthermore, they are charging the credit card a $900 charge plus an additional $200 charge on an auto pay schedule! We have asked for a refund and are disputing the charges! We have a total of 10k views on Social Media regarding this one and only time of using Terminix! Save yourself thousands of dollars and avoid this company at all costs! read more

Frankly, I dealt with 4 different employees and the only person who seems to care or do their job is Michael Rose! Erick, the inspector and my POC has been non existent since taking $1300+ for the contract/to sign up. I STILL have rats INSIDE my home. Erick told me if I heard a trap go off, I would have a technician come out writhing 24 hours... I have yet to hear back from him the company, or anyone else! I tried calling, I tried texting, I tried emailing! It has been 48 hours and I still have yet to hear back from anyone except Michael Rose! This is absolutely unacceptable!!! The Terminix system of termite inspections is significantly flawed for Ventura CA branch. We are a contracting company that has used them multiple times throughout CA for inspections and services. We set an appointment with correct date and time informed them exterior inspection only house is not occupied currently and serious termite issue. Confirmed through their phone system with a tele-agent that can only read what is shown to them. No call no show for the confirmed appointment . Only to find out that the manager placed wrong date on technicians roster. We then reset appointment called and confirmed again and then the technician did not show again. Technician not even call our office. When we inquired about appointment through phone system. Tele-agent stated something to the effect no access due to wild life. Which was clearly untrue our roofers were there 5 days prior no wild life present. We asked for details said someone would call back. No call back. Called again re-routed to field technician who could not give us a reason and said he would go today. We said we need to inform home owner when appointment is and we need to why no one is showing up. We asked for managers name of Ventura CA branch tried to call store get re-routed to tele-agent. Tele-agent said cannot get us in contact with manager: we need order number first. I said we have an order for inspection. She says since it is free service that does not count as an order number. I ask to speak to a supervisor put on hold then line cut out at 31 minutes. This is by far the worst branch I have dealt with. The Terminix customer service system overall is an epic fail. It is now 2-3 hours later and still no call from anyone. System is set to have no accountability. I also cannot find where to review them on Google. Can see glowing reviews but no place to add your own review. Not reliable and communication requires a ton of your effort. The local number is in fact not local and is more of a messaging/call center that creates unnecessary delays in service. Again, I'm finding that this is one of the most frustrating companies I have ever had the misfortune to work with. Non-responsiveness continues to be an understatement! They're more than happy to bill you but they have yet to do anything with covered services. We have been members for several years with no issues, inspection and service where scheduled and we had no discovered damage. It appeared as though we were getting what we were paying for. AGAIN however, during some fascia board replacement from what we thought was possible water damage we found lots of termite damage and active-live termites! I called. An inspector and technician came out and said that with the amount of damage being repaired, the house would probably need to be tented to ensure all issues are addressed. All but a few feet had live termites. We replaced all of the damaged and infested fascia board and starter boards at our cost, more than $4,000. That was almost 2 months ago. Damages have been repaired and we are now looking for Terminix to address how we mitigate future issues. We have tried multiple times, almost every week since mid August, to resolve this at both the corporate and local levels. But it seems that they are still unfamiliar with how to return a call or send an email unless it's to sell you something. Not sure why we kept the service agreement, How disappointing!! read more

Wow what a joke! Filed a claim thru my home warranty for someone to spray for ants because its been out of control. Never got any call but someone had just showed up to my house. Good thing I was home or else I would've missed them. About a week later ants came back so I called for someone to come out again. They stated they dont have my phone number on the contact list so that's why they cant reach me. Gave them my number and the rep said they saved it and someone will call me for an appointment. 4 days go by and this morning I wake up to ants all over my kitchen, living room, and sons room. Called once again and they are stating they already made an appointment scheduled for tomorrow. No one informed me and now I have to take time off from work so I can be home to let them in my house! I initially became a customer in 2017, and agreed to a fee of $99/quarter ($396/year). I was set up for automatic payment and Terminix did resolve my ant problem. However, in 2018, WITHOUT my knowledge, Terminix started charging my credit card $110 every 2 months ($660/year). When I recently discovered this and called Terminix to cancel my service and complain about their shady increase in rates, the customer service representative couldn't care less. Set up an appointment with Terminex, the guy never showed up. I waited an hour after the appointment, no call/email/text. I called the 800 customer service line where they 'escalated' my situation to the local office who would contact me, and rescheduled my appointment to the next Monday from 4-6. Guy never shows up again. No call/email/text and the local office hasn't contacted me. I call the 800 number and wait on hold for 20 minutes before speaking to a rep who tells me she has to transfer me to their 'cancelations' line to cancel my service. I sit on hold for another hour before 'Andrea' picks up. Literally the rudest customer service experience I've ever had. I've had better experiances with the IRS scammers from India. Supposedly my appointment was cancelled, even though I never cancelled it. My service wasn't cancelled, just the appointment. I've worked in customer service for more than a decade at many different companies, Andrea was the opposite of customer service. Meanwhile there were no supervisors or managers available when I was on with her, so no one else I could speak too. I was a commercial pest control rep for Terminix while the real estate crashed. I worked for them for approx 4 yrs. Was doing pretty well...during my last year with them my wife became ill with terminal brain cancer. I was her full time caregiver while I worked at Terminix. She went with me on most of my calls. At that time Terminix doubled the minimum closed in a month. My production wavered a bit due to my situation...what does Terminix do??? They fired me. My manager came over to pick up their pad while my wife lay incoherent in our room. I recommend local operators that understand the human touch. Terminix has a marvelous accounting department. I get billed in December for a bill that comes due on April 1. That's 5 months ahead of schedule! WOW! That's where the service ends. I have been trying for over 6 weeks to get service for an area in my living room that is being eaten by Carpenter Ants that were discovered over a year ago and were eventually treated, but not eliminated. You guys get an "A" for accounting, but an "F-" for service. How do I get someone here to treat those terrible pests. Do these carpenter ants need to eat my entire house before I can get help to get rid of them? Please call me and give me an answer! My house needs help. I do understand, however, that these ants feed on termites, so maybe that is your plan. Just leave the ants eating and I won't have to have service for termites! That's just great! read more

That same day, Terminix charged my card $239.00 and I have not even been seen for an estimate and appointment wasn't until 5 days of the time I request for an appointment l!! I have been totally ripped off by the local Terminix people here in Ventura. I have been having annual termite inspections for about 10-12 years after a tenting. For this I pay about $300-something a year. Supposedly If I need another tenting, it is free. That is not a problem--it's like insurance. This June, the inspector found some water damage in the trim in front of my house. It had been mentioned a couple of years now, so I asked for a quote to repair it. The inspector came right back with a quote of $1800. There was no mention of how that figure was determined. But I signed the contract after asking some questions. Would this be a subcontractor or Terminix personnel (he said it was Terminix, but it wasn't). I asked about painting the repair after it was completed (he said of course, but it never got painted). The actual repair carpenters were very nice and did a good job, but they were never hired to paint. I had 2 carpenters here for about 6-7 hours to make the repairs. By my calculations, that comes to $100 an hour for each of 2 carpenters plus a couple hundred for a board they had to go purchase. But the painting never got done. I tried repeatedly to get a response from the local inspector, but all I got were promises which were never fulfilled. There is nobody to call at the local office. I eventually started to get calls from some office in LA about my unpaid balance (I paid $900 as a deposit). I tried to tell them I would pay the balance when the job was complete. They said of course they would get it done immediately. After 6 months they sent the account to a collections agency. I could never speak to anyone who would help with the situation. I finally decided that I had a no win situation on my hands. I didn't want to sue them in court, especially with a very nebulous written contract, I got taken mostly because I trusted these people to do what they promised verbally. I won't be doing that again. So I paid the other $900 because that was not the hill I wanted to die on. Be very careful in dealings with the Ventura Terminix people... read more
