Greg was an extremely friendly, polite, knowledgeable technician. I learned a lot of things from him about spider treatment for my home that the salesman failed to mention. Greg definitely gave me a better understanding of the process and the company itself. Aside from my interactions with Greg, I am extremely dissatisfied with Terminex. Terminix has been very frustrating to work with. I have had issues scheduling over the phone, non-responsive managers, and employees who do not bother to answer questions. To add to this, Terminix is not cheap! I did not mind paying extra if it meant better service, but I am losing all the way around. Is there a way to give negative stars? We had a squirrel problem in our attic. Terminix came out said the price would be $1,500 to catch the squirrel, seal openings and give a 1 year call back. They came out put down sticky paper then said they could not get on the roof as it was wet. They sealed 2 openings then left. We rescinded our contract within 3 days but they would not refund our money even though they did not fulfill their contract. Finally got a resolution of $1,000 refund however their work was worth less than $50.00 They are rude, scammers Use at your own peril read more

I wanted to give ZERO stars but the system isn't set up for that. If you have a need for Pest Control don't waste our time calling Terminix. We made an appointment and received an email confirmation with set time and date. NO one showed. Called customer service and they couldn't explain but rescheduled with Tech "Mark" with date and time. Received email confirmation of said appointment. Received call from "Mark" confirming date and time. "Mark" did not show up or call. We called customer service and voiced our concern (we had 3 mice) they said they didn't have a number for "Mark" so we gave them the number "Mark"had called us on. They put us on hold and then hung up on us and made ZERO attempt to reach back out to us. Never heard from "Mark" despite leaving him a voice message. We just moved to Richmond and bought this house which was lived in until 3 days prior to us so we didn't expect these issues with mice or LOUSY customer service from TERMINIX. Worst customer service ever. Been a customer for over 10 years and cannot get a technician appointment to estimate additional cost, over current contract, to eliminate carpenter bees. Just wasted :15 on phone talking to inept customer service rep who explained REPEATEDLY that carpenter bees were not covered in my contract, but who could not process my request for a service appointment to provide an estimate for the added service. Will not renew my contract, and will use another service in the meantime. Utterly useless, and overpriced. Would give less than 1 star if that were an option. read more

Confirmed appointments several times, no one showed, and management refuses to take our calls. Will likely be taking to small claims over animal boarding fees, loss of income (taking off work), and gas money for travel to keep my son somewhere else overnight. However stressed the bugs may make you, it is nothing compared to this place... even if you have to wait a week for some other service DO NOT resort to these guys. Worst experience, complete rip off, horrible customer service, complete waste of time. DO NOT USE! Called to set up appointment last may because we were hearing animal noises in the attic. Some lady comes out and says that it's bats and it will cost $1,300 dollars to deal with. Then they send out some random contractor who is was here for about 15 minutes and tells us that he can't find any bats or anything else but he plugged any gaps he saw. About a day after he finished we continue to hear animal noises in the attic. Had to call customer service repeatedly for about 2 weeks to get someone to come back out. They finally sent out someone from terminix who also tells me that they can't find any evidence of bats but that he also plugged any gaps, I checked and all they did was spray foam and put steel wool in cracks. I was told that I would be getting a partial refund for my trouble ($300), this of course never happened and I had to call every day for two weeks to make it happen. The worst part is that we continue to have animal noises in the attic. Then a few weeks ago some woman from terminix calls and leaves a voicemail stating that she has an appointment scheduled to come by during the weekday during work hours check up on the work that was done. We never scheduled any appointments nor did anyone even call before to see if it was a good time. I called back and informed them that we still have animals in the attic. They sent someone named Beatrice Berrian over who looks in my attic and informs me that I do in fact have animals in my attic still. She then tells me that since the previous work didn't fix the problem they will send someone out for free and that someone will call me to schedule an appointment. I then sign the work order. Then Beatrice Berrian proceeds to inform me that I need to pay $300 to renew some yearly pest control plan that I had never even signed up for in the first place. I politely told her in no uncertain terms that I would not be signing up for the renewal of the plan. As you can guess no one ever called to schedule the job to fix the initial problem despite repeated phone calls. I still have some kind of animal in my attic. This company's entire business model revolves around fraud deceit and dishonesty. Stay far away. read more

The service is fair. They call before they come out which is a plus. You cannot talk to a local rep because all phone numbers listed are relayed to a call center that has so few staff that it takes 25 to 30 minutes for them to answer your call. There is no email address so you can't email them - my only guess is they do not want to give you a chance to contact them which is highly suspicious. All they do is spray around the outside of your home - I can do that for lots less; Oh BTW they increase the rate without any notice. read more

SHADY!!!!! We had a knock at the door to do treatment and noticed the Pest technician's uniform says Terminix and not the pest company that we use. He insisted on coming into our house to spray and I asked him is he part of the pest company we use. He tells me yes that Terminix bought out my pest company that I use. I told him to go spray outside and then I called my pest company and they told me they had nothing to do with Terminix and that they were NOT bought out. I went outside to find this technician while I had my Pest company on the phone and told him that Terminix did not buy out my pest company and that I had them on the phone and he said sorry wrong address. I don't care if it's wrong address because it happens but you're telling me that Terminix bought my pest company and try to get into my house. I immediately called their home office and they couldn't give me an answer yes or no about buying out my pest company. The woman on the phone was talking like she was reading off cue cards and kept putting me on hold I did ask for a manager waited 35 minutes with no one. ..what a joke........SHADY SHADY SHADY!!!!!! read more

The local Richmond service USED TO BE DECENT, but has steadily gone DOWNHILL over the past two years (I've been with them 10). They missed several follow-up appointments to correct things that they did not do on the regularly schedule appointment. I had a good rep, Mike Messler, but they took him off this route because of promotions and stuck me with two alternating lunkheads who constantly need to be called back. (2) they have a terrible disconnect between the national call center and the local office resulting in missed appointment and poor service. (3) they keep raising prices to $100 per service. (4) if you have the misfortune of having to wait up to 30 minutes to get ahold of the national call center people (not handle locally anymore), be prepared to be disappointed on the follow-through from the local office. If I could give Terminix less than a star, I would. I'm not going to go into every little detail because that would take way too much time and this would be a book. However, a sales person came throughout our neighborhood soliciting, promised a free initial spray and then another spray if we saw any bugs in between service. I received a bill after the initial service AND saw ticks in our yard so I called to inform the company. I spoke with a customer service representative that was very polite and assured me that I wouldn't be charged as promised and that someone would be out to spray again. No one ever came, and then I received notice that another service date was approaching so I called again to discuss canceling it. THIS customer service representative was the total opposite of the first one I spoke with. She did everything short of calling me a liar and stated that they would never provide a free service. She also informed me that the first representative put in my complaint but my request was denied. When asked about why I never received a call, I was informed that they can't solicit through phone calls, but door to door was different. After getting frustrated with going back and forth with the customer service representative, I decided to cancel the contract all together. An hour or so later, I received an email stating that I had been charged that initial fee that I was disputing. Oh and someone came out to service my yard anyway, and I had to let them know that I had canceled it. Total lack of respect and good customer service. If I see anyone come near my house again, I am going to meet them at the street and yell NO!! Horrible Horrible company!! read more

6 months since contract was signed and $1,000 is gone, AND the bats continued to enter the home. I have spent over 3 hours collectively on the phone, much of it "on hold" with the call center. Return calls are promised and nothing happens. Technicians do not show or arrive an hour past the appointment time. My tenant had to leave the property with her 5 year old child. Called another pest company the next day and they arrived the same day and performed the work to eliminate the problem. Terminex, get your act together! read more

My apartment complex currently uses this exterminator and so when a new neighbor brought cockroaches AND bedbugs into the apartment building, Terminix was called. You would think that they would begin treatment immediately for something like bedbugs, but no. On their very first appointment, they didn't even show up until 4:30pm (for a 10am appointment) and this was only because we insisted that they not reschedule for 3 days later, which is what they wanted to do after we'd already taken the day off work to sit and wait for them all day. When they did show up, they provided absolutely no treatment. All they did was "inspect." We already knew there were bedbugs. We showed them one that had been captured in a jar. We did not need an "inspection," we needed "treatment." They scheduled the treatment for a whole week later (TWO WEEKS AFTER the first bedbug had been caught). You don't exactly want to give these things time to multiply. On the 2nd visit (first treatment), they did show up only 15 minutes late. The exterminator said he could not find where the bedbugs were living or coming from and that he could find no evidence of any (other than the one that was actually shown to him in the jar). He sprayed dry ice over the mattress and around the floor boards. He then removed the outlet covers and sprayed chemicals into the walls and along the floorboards. He then donned a gas mask and closed the door and so I have no idea what he was doing. As he left, he said that bedbugs are very hard to treat and require repeat treatments (possibly 2-4 treatments). The next treatment was to be a week and a half later. The treatment was scheduled for this morning at 11am. As I type this to you, it is 5:30pm and no one has been here. I took today off work to be here for this and I've spent the day here waiting and calling and the rep at Terminix who answers the phone says she'll leave a message for the guy in charge, but the rental office has already left numerous messages and the guy in charge has not called back and they just don't seem to give a damn and they are now closed and they haven't bothered to show up. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I know you want to because they certainly are the most well known with all their commercials and such but if you use them and you end up spending the day in a room in your home with your bugs and they never show up, don't say you weren't warned. read more
