Orkin is not worthy of the first star! I contacted Orkin for an estimate on termite control after a swarm of flying termites were in my backyard. The inspector did not call prior to the estimated window of arrival time. He parked in my driveway. He did not maintain social distancing or arrive with a mask. He informed me it would be necessary to enter my home and to look at my attic. He pulled the string off my attic entry, and he did not tie it back. When he came downstairs, he asked if he could use my restroom. While in the restroom, he coughed. Finally, he asked if I wanted him to wear a mask. Prior to reviewing the estimate, he asked if I needed my husband to be present. He continued the conversation by inquiring about what I did for a living. He asked if he could sit down to go over the estimate. Not only did he violate the CDC guidelines for Covid19, putting my health at risk, but he quoted $11,727 in remediation! He called his manager to see if he could knock down the price. Of course, there was no answer, but he was "kind enough" to reduce the estimate by the 20% he was allowed. He told me to have blessed day about 4 times before he finally left. I immediately called my friend and told him about the laundry list that was required to treat these termites. He was familiar with my house and thought it was an overreach. He provided the name of an inspector who had 30 years in the business. This inspector called prior to his arrival, parked in the street and maintained proper social distancing. He informed me that my house had been previously treated for termites. He showed me the drilled holes and the chemical residue. He explained that flying termites do not damage the home. He did a thorough investigation of the garage and crawl space and said there was no termite issue. He added if I wanted to fix up the crawl space for cosmetic reasons, he could do that, but it was not necessary. The moisture in the crawl space was normal and my house would have passed inspection if I needed one for real estate purposes. I was lucky to find a knowledgeable inspector, and I cannot imagine how many others are preyed upon by these "salesmen" working for these big corporations. I could have been out thousands of dollars when nothing was necessary. I think the Orkin inspector needed to be blessed more than I did. The audacity to attempt to cheat people out of thousands of dollars. read more

This is a shady company and I would not recommend them to anyone. I have had a magnitude of problems since the day I hired them to perform work on my house. The biggest issue I had was with them not disclosing the contract in full. You are required to pay for the work in full in 90 days or you have the option to finance it. However, if you choose to finance they will give you the payment amount for whichever yearly term you choose while showing you the total cost of the work, and it includes 22% of interest. But they do not mention the interest to you at all. I called the Branch Manager and he said it is not something that they discuss while selling and that they expect people to "assume" that if they choose to finance that there is 22% of interest. On top of not disclosing that information, they email you a copy of the contract you sign for the work; however, they only send you half of it. They will not send the portion of the contract that you signed that shows the breakdown of the cost with the inclusion of the 22% of interest. Then they sell your contract to a third party company to handle the payments, so when you bring the issue up to them they refer you to them and say that it is out of Orkin's hands. Such a joke. The next biggest issue I had was the professionalism from both the sales contact, the branch manager and the receptionist. If they told you you would be hearing something from someone soon, that was a lie. You won't be hearing from anyone. I had to call three days in a row just to speak with the Branch Manager after being told he will give me a call. It also took me months and many emails to the sales rep to have someone come out and inspect the work and fix the door and areas that they did poorly after being told yet again that I would be hearing something back from the Branch Manager. For the amount of money they charge (which is a lot more than other places that probably do a much better job and have better customer service) it is 100% not worth the headache. Please if you are thinking about using them for any sort of crawl space encapsulation or any sort of work to your house, do yourself a favor and get quotes and research other local companies that do the same work. You would think with a known name like Orkin that you would have good customer service and 100% transparency from the start, but let me assure you that you will not. read more

This company created nothing but drama and headaches for me and my family. The company sales manager Brad conner sold me on a service to replace the insulation in my attic and basement because or rodent infestation. He told me it would take 2-3 days to complete the work and it would be done and look outstanding. The work was to include insulation replacement in attic and basement, a moisture barrier, and basement vent guards. The work has to be redone due to terrible workmanship. I missed multiple days of work and my clients went elsewhere for their repairs. They sent their regional manager to my house to take pictures and he was even surprised with the poor workmanship of their employees. The basement insulation had to be redone because it was hanging down everywhere and not secured properly with the insulation isulators. They left some old insulation in place and a bunch of exposed flooring where the insulation was missing. They left their trash such as chunks of the old insulation and isulators all over the floor in the basement and outside the door of the basement all the way to where their service truck was parked in the front of my house. The vent guards that were installed were installed improperly and they cut my siding leaving exposed subwall. They did not replace all the vent guards around my house and I had to put mesh wiring in place so the rodents don't keep going into my basement. It's been 7 months since they started the work on my house and all they care about is the $10000.00 bill I have not paid. I spoke to numerous Orkin representatives as well as the branch manager Mr. Brad about it and all he asked is what I want him to do about it! I am truly sick and shocked at the level of unprofessional customer service this brach has for such a big and reputable company. read more
