We contracted with the Madison Heights, MI office to rid our home of a pesky squirrel in the attic. The initial contact resulted in an appointment which took place as scheduled on 06/06/2015. We were told a technician would perform the service in 2 steps: (1) set a trap to catch any animals (a one-way contraption that sticks out of the vent about a foot), (2) a week later a return visit to clean and disinfect the attic and install impenetrable vent covers on all attic vents. The cost for this would be $1260. We thought it was a lot, but felt we had no choice. The service tech showed up at the appointed date and time on 06/12/2015, verified the evidence of a squirrel, inserted the trap and promised a return visit in one week to finish the job. He never called or showed up. We started calling, leaving messages and got no response. We finally called the 800 number to lodge a complaint and wound up being connected with the local manager - whose name I do not have at the moment.. He had a real attitude, admonishing me for bothering him at 7 pm, and told me to call him the next morning to arrange the appointment. That was the last contact with anyone from this office. I started calling the 800 number and time after time, manager after manager promised they would "take care of it." TERMINIX has a record of all of our calls. After another failed promise on Monday, July 27, a call which connected me to the Tampa call center (again), I spoke this morning 7/31 with mgr Catherine, who started the same run-around - she is going to "reach out" to the local office... We paid a $200 deposit on June 6, almost 2 months ago. We are now being billed for a balance of $1069 which we refuse to pay. Either complete the job or cancel the bill... Simple, right? Unfortunately, while on a lengthy hold on one of the more recent calls, I was scrutinizing the technician's paperwork and discovered the notation, much to my astonishment and dismay: "no followup required" in tiny letters. This is now 07/31/2015 - and we are getting nowhere. read more

The first two services were great. Met the technicians and they explained what they were doing. Then after that no communication at all. Whenever I tried to call I was only able to reach the call center. They were nice their but they could only do so much. I was sent a text that a technician was going to inspect the property probably because it has been a year and instead I got charge twice before for services and they did not even come. I work from home and did not get a knock on the door nor did I get a call or text that they would be coming. I usually see them because they spray all around the house and inside my house. And I would have to put up my dog when they came. I tried to contact the manager but got no response. I called the call center again and they requested a refund for the two services and requested that a manager call me but still got no response and no refund. I hope that the company will have the curtesy to contact me and refundable charges for non service. read more

I would have a negative star if I could. Fraud, no doubt about it. Called for fruit flies and gnats in November. Man came out & sprayed. It got worse. Called back, man came out three times more, nothing. After 4th call, was told that they don't deal with fruit fies. This is AFTER 4 times out here. So naturally I canceled my service. BUT, they still want to charge me for the calls and products they used. Thst THEY screwed up on from the original call!!!! As I said, fraud & misleading practices. Unless your interested in wasting money, lose their number read more

Terminix did a great job with a clothing moth issue. Thank heavens for Adel, he was great! It's a difficult process but Adel was wonderful. Pam and Jeff are his Managers and they were great too. Hire Adel he gets the Job Done. read more

Well here we go. Had a slummy looking sales guy come out from Terminix and told me we had termites. He showed me a couple spots that were supposed termite "hot spots". He sold me a package of service care and told me that if I wasn't happy with the service provided that I could get a refund with no cancelation fee (all lies). He handed me a tablet with a signature line and did not go over any details with me other than treatment for termites and amount. Then I had a friend come into town that owns a pest control company. My friend said that the spots the Slum Lord Terminix guy showed me had 0 termite signs. My friend also looked at my property and said there is 0 proof of termites. I called to cancel my service agreement because the service was not needed. The manager Kevin, then told me sorry but there is nothing anyone can do and I am just screwed and have to ride the service agreement out. So here we are. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. THEY WILL LIE TO YOUR FACE AND THEN TELL YOU TO DEAL WITH IT. These people are on a whole different level of scam artists. The funny part is, I don't want my money back! I just want to be done paying a monthly premium for a service that has no value to me. Kevin I hope that the $500 I will pay you over the next 9 months for 0 product is worth a bad review on every social media. Save your time and money and call a different pest control company, these people are scam artists. read more

We had services done by this location. I read the reviews "after" we had already scheduled services so I was a little nervous about using them. Jessie came with another guy whose name I don't remember. They were nice and professional and seemed to take care of everything properly. We will have a follow up visit and I will update review if needed. They explained everything to us and wore shoe covers which I appreciate.. read more

We had the worst customer service made appointments never showed up and didn't call, could never talk to anyone. No would return my phone calls. I will never use them again! Showed up without an appointment no one was home said they did their service. Four weeks after the last appointment was made and canceled read more

I called Terminix to use them for the first time for zip code area 48183, an appointment was set up that I needed to reschedule. We rescheduled and the company was a no call no show. I sent them an email explaining my displeasure and indicated I no longer wanted to use their services. I then set up an appointment with another exterminator. Since then I have received multiple calls from a phone number and when I answer they hang up. If I don't answer no message is left. I then had my husband call the number from his phone and it was Terminix!! So, I called them explained the situation and all the calls to the gentleman answering the phone and he apologized and transferred me to "someone who can take care of this." I have now been on hold for 14 minutes............crickets!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. Customer services is equally as important as the success of exterminating the bugs and their customer service is extremely poor. I only rated them a 1 star because no star was not an option :-( read more

We had the worst experience! They only showed up once to the house, after that they would make different appointments but never showed, on top of that they claim we haven't paid the money we have in cash up front and after telling them we had the receipt to prove we did, again made an appointment once again they didn't show and still haven't gotten back with us. So much for money back if not happy. They took 1500 dollars and took off! read more

I called, made an appointment with date and time, the exterminator called me day before said they don't do appt in Detroit from 5-7. He rescheduled for Saturday morning between 8-10 (which was inconvenient for me, but I still kept what I could get) I got my free inspection, then he scheduled for my 1st appt. My 1st appt was a week later from 5-7 (funny how now they are coming from 5-7 now, right?!) I waited til 7:30 the day of my 1st appt, I even left work early. I called the exterminator who called me day before and I left a message for him because he didn't answer. I then called the 1-800#, the customer svc rep was nice, but all was done was him relaying the message to his supervisor. When i spoke to the rep he said the svc call had been rescheduled, well nobody told me. So i kept the appt they scheduled me for the 2nd time. I called a couple days before my next scheduled appt to confirm and I asked the rep if I could speak to her branch manager, she put me on hold (this is the AZ location now) and she said sorry, but my branch manager doesn't want to talk right now. Are you kidding me? Now mind you, I have only had 1 free inspection, this is now 3 weeks later. I received a call from the exterminator after 7 oclock, surprised he showed up, but since it was past 7 I had left. I have yet to speak with anyone or had anything done to my house. I will never recommend using this company. The lack of communication and geographic stereotyping is ridiculous. Detroit still has people living there and we have every right to use "professional services" just like the suburbs do. I will never use this company. Orkin here I come. read more

I wouldn't recommend them to anyone especially the Madison heights office in Michigan which is servicing 48228 zip code. I've had to reschedule twice with both technician telling me they can't come out because of servicing issues due to there own scheduling. I had Michael first and then Raymond either one is able to come out. Contacted the manager to give me a call back and his name is Paul which has not contacted me at all. I'm very disgusted with there services and wouldn't recommend them to anyone read more

Best guy ever for pest control - great manners, knowledgeable, patient, and hard working. Seemed more like a friendly neighbor trying to help - extremely thorough and careful of my need to not over do chemicals if possible. Ask for a service technician called John Dorsey - super good. read more

Ugg. I never leave poor reviews about companies because I recognize that things can happen and people have bad days. This company has ripped me off for the last time! I paid over $70 a month, directly withdrawn from my checking account, and was promised all the bells and whistles. I was promised satisfaction guaranteed, I was promised additional services (included in the package) so that I could keep up on any pests that were not taken care of with the standard services. Well, that was a giant lie. We had bees in our garage that were supposed to be taken care of on two different service dates. I called the call center to complain that they never showed and they kept telling me that my service technician would be there on May 15, my standard service date. Why am I paying so much money to have them not keep up their end of the deal, and not show up for the additional services that were supposed to be provided? Because I paid so much money, and felt very much taken advantage of, I cancelled my contract after my May 15 service date. Do you know that this company had the audacity to charge me an additional $46.00+ after my contract was cancelled because the service technician came out on May 15 to do the standard service? Even after I paid $70 a month for a year (which only included their every three month standard service because they NEVER showed for the additional services they were supposed to do with the package)?? What? Satisfaction definitely NOT guaranteed. In fact, this company is a total rip-off. DO NOT give them your bank account information. They will just keep charging and charging and charging..... Jeffrey declined my refund from this branch. Thanks a lot, Jeffrey! You didn't screw me enough over the last year, you had to get one more dig in there. Terminix is terrible. UPDATE: After leaving my review, I was refunded the $46+. Thanks to Terminix for making me jump through hoop after hoop to get MY money back. So unnecessary. read more

Easily the WORST experience I have ever had. Twice they never showed up for my appointment. The 3rd time they showed up, and because there was an eviction notice on the door(I am a landlord and we had evicted the tenant the week before) the tech not only left, he did not notify us in any way that he had been there. My worker sat there for over 2 hours waiting for him and I had to cancel all work that I had scheduled for the next day. I called 'corporate'...what a JOKE...they informed me there was nothing they could do and the next available appointment was not for 8 days. called ORKIN got an appointment for the next morning. DONE...next time I will just call ORKIN 1st. read more

Terminix lied to me and now I have cancelled my contract and will never use them again. Many of the terms of the initial contract were for services that I did not need..I.e. termites. When it was time to renew, I specified roaches only. The phone representative was quick to charge my credit card for these services. She assured me last Thursday that I would have an appointment today August 15 between 8-10.Not only did it not appear on the schedule according to the phone center, but I was placed on hold while they contacted district managers by voicemail &email. Not only were my calls not returned, but then I was told the soonest they could send a technician would be next Monday. Well in that case why not charge my card next Monday...quick enough to take payment but slow as far as fulfilling the agreed upon appts. This is the 3rd time there's been some appointment mixup. Meanwhile, do you realize how quickly roaches can breed in the interim as you change the schedule to suit yourselves. My neighbor was a nightmare and all her critters are coming thru windows, backdoors abd everywhere. Having already waited 4 days , I will no longer support your business. I bet you'd move faster and keep your word if it were your disabled relative with a clean house that's threatening to be infested. read more

This was going to be a 1* rating but Terminix turned things around (surprisingly considering all the bad reviews I read on the net). I called for yellow jacket wasp problem in our home. When I got back from an overseas trip, my son said he had vacuumed a few dead wasps inside our home. The powder room window had 3-4 on the window. I called Terminix. Two days later, there were quite a lot more by the time the guy showed up. He sprayed some powder into the area outside the powder room window. He sprayed very strong spray in the bathroom and I couldn't use it for days. He said they were coming from the exhaust vent as well and sprayed that. He said the gap near the eve outside is where it was entering our powder room on the main floor. He also sprayed the 40-50 inside the powder room and flushed them! Luckily, I had kept that room door shut for days until he came. When I called for service initially, I specifically had asked if they would clean up the 30-40 dead wasps lying on the window sill very high above in the foyer. The sales guy said yes twice. Apparently they say yes to everything at that point, he tried hard to convince me to get a yearly contract which I refused since we never had this issue before and didn't think it was an annual problem. Well, the first guy didn't take care of the high window bug problem, he couldn't use my 12ft ladder due to liability issues and while he was nice, he confirmed that the sales people do agree to more than what the technicians are allowed to do in our home! I was peeved since I didn't pay $200 for what I could've done for $10 from Home Depot. I wanted someone to clean up that mess without me having to do it. He spent 30 mins for the whole service and didn't check the attic as I asked him to. He said he was sure they were not there! After I complained to Terminix, another guy (elderly) came by on a Sat morning. He was very nice and helpful, checked the attic (and said he had not seen a clean attic like that in 18 yrs, yay!), tried his best to get to the high window but couldn't. I still was pleased with all he did and best of all, he told me about "exception service" guy who has a 30ft ladder and is insured to use that in our home. I didn't know this, the first guy didn't tell me. So the second guy left after telling me he would call the exception service guy who in fact called me a bit later on the same day (a Saturday at that) ! The third guy is a manager apparently, came in his office clothes, brought some long webster cleaning tool and got all the crap from the high window (without using a ladder!) and even cleaned up all that fell to the ground! Now that's what I call service!!!! So, I must say they did please me in the end and it was done in a timely manner. I honestly didn't expect that given the bad reviews I read earlier and was kicking myself for using this company after the first guy left. But the other two made up for it! read more
