We bought a newer house in Macomb Township, and moved in July 2023. The former owners had cats. We have been infested with fleas, since we do not own any pets, but we have a small four-year-old seems to attract the fleas. We are constantly finding bites on him, as well as life fleas, jumping off. We figure that, after a few months they would die off and leave us alone, We have bought flee traps and catch a few a week. flee eradication can take up to a year if left untreated. In December we decided to call in the big guns and contacted Orkin. They have been very good about educating us and preparing us for the dauntless task ahead of us. We had to remove everything off of the floors and closets and the entire house, upstairs and downstairs. They then came in with chemicals and treated the entire area while we took off to a waterpark for the night. The kicker is that we had to vacuum the house every day for the next two weeks until they came back for the second treatment we just had the second treatment done And flea activity has subsided, and again we need to vacuum the house every day for the next two weeks. They were great to work with. I had to call them because we just bought a house and got the keys the end of June. We notice droppings in the front porch and needed someone to take a look at it. I decided to go with Orkin. They gave me detail information of what they were going to do when they come and also went in great detail how they would keep their distance since we are living in Covid times. I paid Orkin in Chesterfield Michigan almost $5000 for their "exclusion" services two years ago. I have had them come back multiple times because I STILL HAVE BATS IN MY ATTIC!!! The last time they came out, they put a bat cone on my roof and have not come to remove it. That was six months ago. I can hear a bat burrowing into the insulation in my walls as I type this. During the last visit from an inspector I was told that exclusion work was considered an "odd job" and there was no guarantee. If they had told me up front that they would do the work for $5000, but not guarantee it, I never would have hired them. Very shady business practice. Fleabag raccoon climbed down my chimney and settled into the incinerator area at the bottom. All access doors in the basement for that area were secure and he did not get in but his fleas did. Wife freaked. I immediately sprayed everywhere with Ortho Home Defense and quelled the incursion fairly well but wife wanted the assurance of professional remediation. Got an appointment for spray two days hence. Paul came out, surveyed the situation and proceeded to apply the spray. I expect no fleas or critters of any sort whatsoever as the spray will kill them when they set their 6-60 legs on the floor. As for the raccoon he had climbed out and I secured the chimney cap toot sweet. Can't be having that. A week later now and it's all good. No bugs at all. And Paul was awesome. read more

I am not sure which location takes care of my mosquitos but Orikin does an awesome job. Everything is so hands off with them. I am paying what I feel is a fair price, they have handled all of the scheduling. If I ever have an issue, they come right out for a respray. If you are a controlling person and limes to be hand held, this may not be for you. I get great service and have auto pay. I only talk to someone if I see an issue during the season. If you want to save your money DO NOT USE ORKIN. They ruined my furniture and promised 100% that all my bugs would go away. I had to wait over two months for them to reimburse me and they only reimbursed me because I threaten to sue if they didn't pay the $600 damages fee they did to me house. I would never use this branch again, the woman who is the scheduler I'm pretty sure couldn't even spell her last name correct, and was about as rude as they come. The technician they sent out was useless, I'm pretty sure he's qualified for absolutely nothing. I went with another local service and they showed me how bad this specific branch of Orkin was. Orkin never explained anything, their technician left after knocking for all of 30 seconds, and I had to chase him down just to get him to come back....and I did this because this Orkin schedules in 2 hour blocks, with nothing after 6, so if you have regular job like most people, you have to skip work to receive this branchs awful service. The technician was not able to solve the problem, and actually broke one of my gutters in the process...So overall if you want a service that actually works, and you want a company to be on time, DO NOT GO WITH THIS ORKIN BRANCH....THEY ARE AWFUL AND WILL SOLVE NOTHING! read more
