I would give them zero stars if I could. I booked a $3,414.08 service a month in advance despite them misdiagnosing and changing treatment recommendations twice. I gave them my credit card information to book a service date after they explicitly stated it would only be "pinged" and NOT billed until the date of service. Long story short they billed me $3,414.08 the same day I gave them my information. That's not why they get 1 (should be zero) stars. This is a rental property of mine and I was going to have to displace my tenants to a hotel for 3 nights each while they did a tenting process. Thankfully, prior to booking non-refundable hotel rooms for them, I called to confirm the treatment date as a lot of money was on the line. My calls were never returned. I called the main call center and they had different dates of service! Terminix had pushed the original date of service out a month and didn't tell me! I said I need to know if this is an error in the system or if the dates we agreed upon weeks earlier is the actual date before I commit to booking hotels for my tenants. No response whatsoever. I shouldn't have been billed a month in advance at all. The main call center confirmed this to be the case. I said "if I don't get a response confirming accurate dates within a few days I want to cancel and get a refund. Especially since I shouldn't have been billed at all". Again, no response. It required 5 lengthy discussions with various agents (central call center and not able to reach the local branch in Jacksonville) to get corporate involved. Zero accountability and little intervention by corporate to handle local Terminix branch. I escalated it to corporate and they said: "the local Jacksonville branch has to initiate the refund". I said they won't even call me back. I said, "they had no problem texting me and answering their phones when I was setting up several thousand dollars worth of service". Now, their local number simply reroutes you to the call center. Seems very suspicious. Over a period of weeks, I escalated it to their parent company who owns Merry Maids and Terminix, etc. I told them I will seek legal counsel if this isn't resolved. They stated "refunding you $3,414.08 is no big deal for Terminix". I said then do it. $3,414.08 means a great deal to me and Terminix never performed any service. Truly criminal. There is no ambiguity or miscommunication whatsoever in this case. NO service was ever performed period. I'm writing to the BBB and hoping this review deters anyone from using Terminix. I am shocked that a large corporate company brand allows their locally owned branches to get away with this. Zero accountability. Don't go with Terminix because you think they're a large accountable company brand. This is not the case. It's a locally owned sketchy bug service that bought into the Terminix franchise and operates their branch as they see fit. I've switched to Orkin in the meantime. We're a month out from them billing me the $3,400.00+ and no refund or service performed. Absolutely appalling. Steer clear from this branch. Perhaps, Terminix in other branches is perfectly fine. However, Jacksonville Terminix is as dishonest as they come. Avoid them at all cost. read more
