I would highly recommend Jacobs Ladder for your roofing needs…read more Hugh Johnson, the owner, is the ultimate professional and was so helpful in helping me understand the roofing and pricing process. I was also looking to replace gutters, and he advised me that all of the gutters did not need replacing, which of course saved me money. All the other contractors, just quoted me a full set of gutters. His work crew was awesome. They came on time, worked all day (finished in one day) and totally cleaned up the mess at the end of the day. I was also very pleased with his pricing. All in all, a great company!

Three weeks ago Jacob's Ladder came to my property for an estimate. I explained that getting the…read moreestimate was time sensitive, and the reasons thereof. They said they would not be able to start the project for about 3 months and I said that would be perfect timing; I only needed an estimate within a week. I told them I would be cancelling my original estimate since they came over so quickly, so I would really need their estimate. I have called them over half a dozen times and left messages with no response. Since there have been issues with phone service for the past 3 weeks, understandably there was a good possibility that they never even received my messages. Today, three weeks later, I again called the main number and texted the man who did the estimate. When I still received no answer, I called their emergency line explaining that although this is not an emergency, I thought that maybe they did not receive my previous messages and could she please relay the message. I went so far as to say that I know this is not an emergency as I am a RN and it's not life or death, but again, no one has returned a call or message in 3 weeks so perhaps they did not receive my previous messages. That said, I received a very nasty text from them saying that it was very offensive to them to inquire on their "emergency line" (the only line where someone answers the phone) that I expect a phone call back after 3 weeks of them doing the initial estimate and how "Christian" they are! So let me respond from the Bible, Proverbs 15:1: "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." Christian IS as Christian DOES. I would not recommend this company.

They were able to come in just a few days and had that awful looking thing down and bees gone within 20 minutes. Made it look easy, but it was NOT. They charge $129 for a termite inspection, most other local places charge 50-55. Their tech said…read moremy house, which I just sold, showed signs of termites and no signs of ever being treated. Legally that obligates me to pay for a termite treatment. In the process of getting quotes, a tech with another company took pictures and showed me that it had been treated previously and there were no signs of a current infestation. Since the paperwork had already been submitted it couldn't be revised, which means I have to pay for a treatment. I finally spoke to the owner after multiple calls, and his bottom line was basically, Oops, better safe than sorry! They quoted me over $1300, which was BY FAR the most expensive quote. My other several quotes (5-6 other exterminators) ranged from $460-$1100. Moral of the story: overpriced inspections, overpriced treatments, and they'll tell you that you need to purchase a service whether you need it or not.
