I am judging this for a fast food place not an authentic Asian place. My husband picked up teriyaki steak bowl with noodles and teriyaki chicken bowl with fried rice. I thought the meats were seasoned well and we got a decent portion. I especially liked the noodles and rice that came with it to. I think the food is as good as mall Asian food so I don't mind it. The food quality here is pretty good for a fast casual joint. I preferred the chicken teriyaki over the orange chicken and preferred the fried rice over the noodles. Both are definitely worth the upgrade over the standard white rice. The veggies were pretty good - it was a nice combo of crunchy cabbage, zucchini, and broccoli. For the fellas I highly recommend getting the large size. The medium was enough for my wife but I am not sure her medium bowl would have sated my appetite. Everything was great except for the noodles. Noodles were an overcooked mess that ruined the rest of the food for me. I called them, then drove back to the restaurant to get either the noodles redone or change it to friend rice. On the opening day, I tried to order from the app and it was so busy that I was going to have to wait about 75 minutes before my food was going to be ready. Instead, I decided I'd try the next day for an early lunch. I placed the order at 10:00am on the app and picked up my food at 11:30. It was ready to go when I arrived. I don't anticipate such a delay like this in the future unless they offer another $5 deal. The food itself...the chicken is grilled with a good amount of teriyaki flavor. The noodles ($1 extra) were too dry. The veggies (mostly broccoli & cabbage) was cooked right but lacked any flavor. Not a bad deal for $5. After the first two days, the same bowl goes for almost $9, which I think isn't a great value. In the end, I have the same opinion about TMad as I do Panda Express. This spot just opened up on Concord Pike about 10 minutes from my apt in Delaware. Being so close to home, and in an area where there isn't much Asian competition, I came in with high expectations. There was no wait so ordering was a breeze. 5/5 The menu was straight forward, as well as the cleanliness of the restaurant. 5/5 The food was ready rather quickly (approximately 7 minutes). 5/5 However, the food was flavorful but the chicken was overcooked. 1.5/5 WHY?! My guess is that new employees were training but where is the final Gordon Ramsey check before the dishes go out to the customer? I was one of the first in for the "lunch rush" and I was highly disappointed. The Orange Chicken Bowl would have had a great flavor but most of the pieces (as exhibited in my first pic) were overcooked. This not only provided pieces that were extra chewy, but the pungent orange taste was now bitter. Needless to say it was a horrible first impression and I'll try this place again in about 2 weeks at a different time to see if they have their act together. I had high hopes for this place especially since there are options for steamed instead of stir fried vegis. I was very disappointed in the meal. The teriyaki chicken pieces were seasoned pretty well but they were not tender, there were very few and very small pieces of vegetables and the sauce is just a pre packaged container of teriyaki sauce you pour over the meal. Crab Rangoon was the worst I've ever had, can't really even compare it to any I've ever had. They were terribly overdone, split open and had no filling. I stopped in for lunch on their opening day, not a great experience. I ordered their chicken teriyaki bowl, got home, and there was no chicken in my chicken teriyaki bowl. I called and explain what had happened, they told me they put my name on a list and when I come again they would take care of the issue. I called in another order that evening, went back and explained the situation, they gave me my new order and said a manager would be right out. 25 minutes later no manager, no one ever said anything, and I ended up just leaving. Came into the store and cashier was counting money with no other customers in the store. I had to wait over 5 minutes to place my order for takeout and my buddy placed a separate order right after me. My buddies order came out in about 10 minutes. I then went to the counter and asked for my order and they just forgot to make it. I mentioned I was with my friend and when my food came out his would be cold and the cashier just said oh ok. Waited another 10 minutes before finally getting my order. So the service in the store was minimal at best. I then went home and tried the food. My egg-roll was doughy, the noodles are cheap, the veggie ales were almost all stalk. My friend got the steak and it was chunky and slimy.
