BD likes his chicken teriyaki here. I've always only ordered the salmon teriyaki. I like the size and freshness of the salmon but the sauce just isn't there. It's very one note. I'm always craving more taste or spice. I've also ordered the eel sushi roll before which wasn't bad but I hate the eel sauce they smothered on the roll. The service has always been nice. I've been here three times and there's no other small mom and pop restaurant like it around the area which is why I love to support them but every time BD brings them up I'm always like... 'meh'. This is solely on their customer service, as I really enjoyed their food. I go there since it's down the street and I only get a 30 minute lunch. I ordered my food, and went on my way back to work. Some jerk turned in front of me and I had to slam on my brakes - food went flying and went ALL over my truck. I called and explained that I was just there, what I ordered and a brief explanation of what just happened... as I was going to say "I'd like to have you re-make my food so I can quickly go in there and pick up/pay for a new order", she the young lady who answered the phone put me on hold to talk to the owner. However, she did not silence the phone and I heard the whole conversation between her and the owner. She did not let me get out that I wanted to re-order and pick it up - not asking for them to pay for it - and I could hear the owner say "what does she want us to do about it, we aren't paying for it!!". The girl came back on the phone and said bluntly "what do you want us to do about it" - I was shocked - I simply explained that I just wanted to call in another order since I only have a 30 minute lunch and I am already late. She said something like " we can't do anything for you" - and it just started to make me mad... I simply stated AGAIN that I was not looking for a handout or free food, I just wanted them to remake my order so I can pick it up. She hung up after she quickly said, "we won't have it ready for at least 10 minutes". I was so mad that I called back so they wouldn't make it and to tell them because of their horrible customer service, I will not be going back there and to cancel the order. The owner was the one who answered next, so I explained to him that I was very disappointed in the way they handled it and that I was NOT looking for free food... it was not their fault and I had no problem with paying for another plate! All I wanted was for them to start the new order and explained what happened in hopes that maybe they could make my food quickly so I can get back to work and not be extremely late. Instead of saying I am sorry, he is telling me that the girl who answered is young and to give her a break... really.... I am the customer, I didn't get a chance to finish what I wanted to tell her before she started talking to him and repeated what HE SAID!... I don't care if she is young, I still overheard what he was telling her which was completely out of line!! He was right next to her as she was talking to me, and could hear how she was talking to me - he could have easily taken over the phone that clearly was not being handled correctly! After I explained that I heard his discussion with her, he asked what he could to do make it better - I explained that there was nothing and again was not looking for a hand out and to cancel the order - I am disgusted with the way they handled it and therefore will not return. I am very sad because I DID like the new owners and I liked the food. read more

I've been coming here for years. Always been delicious. Recently some new family members took over the Resturant and they are doing a great job running the place as well. They've made a couple modern changes and have great personalities. We will continue coming back here for the amazing food! read more

The food is excellent! Been going here for 15 years, and the meals have always been top notch!!! I see a lot of reviews of people complaining of no vegies in their beef or chicken bowls but come on people...there are PICTURES on the wall showing you what you WILL get. If you want vegies get a noodle bowl!!! Rice bowls have NEVER come with vegies!!! Even at other Japanese restaurants they don't come with vegies UNLESS asked. I read yelp reviews and called in an order for the chicken noodles w/veggies. I told them to make it a bit spicy. These noodles were super yummy! I loved all the veggies that were mixed in with the noodles and chicken. The place definitely looks unassuming from the outside, but it was pretty packed on a Saturday night. They cook fast! Excellent drink selection (honest tea, ramune Japanese soda, coconut water,beer,etc).They cook it right in front of you and it doesn't matter if there is a small line. This place is amazing. My husband and I live in Orangevale but make the trek up to Placerville as often as we can just for some T junction. The owners are extremely nice and always remember us. One day we were in there and asking them if we could buy some of their Teriyaki sauce and they gave us some to go for free! Apparently their sauce is homemade and it takes at least 8-10 hours to make. They refuse to buy premade stuff because they know the customers love their homemade sauce! This place is a disappoinment! Came here after snowboarding so my friends and I are starving. Even with that said the food taste wasnt even close to satisfactory. The price did not help aswell. Dont get fooled by 4 1/2 stars that it have here in yelp! my friends and I block listed this place. Also I caught a glimpse of how they were preparing the food I ordered, combo #1 (combination of teriyaki beef, chicken and pork). Best food around! The owners are the nicest people. The food is always perfect and always amazing. I have yet to try something i didn't like. I have been coming here for a good 10 years now. I got the bulgogi at a teriyaki place... i should've known! It wasn't that great very salty... but i mean its a teriyaki place that also serves supbar raley's tasting sushi so what can you expect. Stick to what they make good and hopefully that's teriyaki when i go back and try it again when im in the area. read more

Teriyaki Junction should be a staple of any locals diet. It's quick and it's pretty dang tasty. I lived in the area for 24 years before a roommate introduced me to this place. It doesn't seem the owners speak to much english but they are very nice and serve up a mean dish of noodles! read more

I like this place. I like to watch people in the McDonald's drive-through get their "fast food" as I walk in to TJ. I then walk out and sit down outside and eat my great Rice Bowl and watch those cars crawl through the line to save "time". Great meals in half the time of the fast food joints. read more

We were on our way to Tahoe and stopped over in Placerville for some grub. I came up with the brilliant idea of yelping to find out what's good around there or else we would've been stuck eating some McDonald's.... Came across this place and took a look at the menu. We all came to an agreement that we would try it based on yelp reviews. Ooooh, thank you yelpers because the food was yummy. Since it was a friday during lent, we couldn't enjoy any meat so some of us had the salmon teriyaki and some of us had the shrimp/veggie tempura. All were equally good and good portions.. This place sucks! The food is to salty and no vegetables served with chicken bowl. The fountain drinks taste like bleach. When I told the lady, and asked if I could swap for a bottled drink she told me no. They also charge 2.50 for the fountain drink. Would never recommend. read more

The service is great and the tea is complimentary. The tempura was middle of the road and the beef teriyaki was very salty and had an odd consistency. The gyoza was good. A lot of the sauces were not what I was expecting. It seemed like a lot of them were ginger based (like the salad dressing and the dipping sauce for the tempura), different than I have had at other Japanese restaurants. Unfortunately, I really dislike ginger. Still, the experience was good overall and I would go again when in the area. read more

First time...Wow! The dipping sauce for the tempura and pot stickers is nothing short of awesome. Ordered teriyaki beef bento box as well. A tight little hole in the wall place with a friendly couple running it. A little pricier than I expected but free refills for the drinks. I come here pretty frequently and I've never really had an issue with the food, nor the staff or pricing. I always order the beef bowl, which has beef atop white rice with sauce and sesame seeds and I've never had an issue with my order before. The price is pretty good for what you're getting and it's usually pretty worth it. I've never actively had an issue with any of the staff, they've always been nice to me when ordering and paying though I can imagine others having issues. It's a good place to just grab a bite to eat, especially if you're down for some takeout. It's a chill place to pop into, grab some food, pay, and move on. The interior is pretty nice, considering the building size and intended audience, though it's kind of small if you've got a larger party- though there is seating outdoors. I I recommend it to people that have a preference for this kind of food and I also recommend checking out their menu online beforehand just to ensure there's something you'd like, I recommend to most people I know. read more

I'm not one of those people who enjoys writing painful reviews, but today I am compelled. I am gobsmacked that this place has an average rating of 4 stars. My adult daughter & I, who both know great Japanese food, were appalled at what we got for a not insignificant price. The tempura was basically heavily breaded & greasy (including a slab of white potato instead of sweet potato), the sushi combo plate included overcooked gyoza & was sad in quality overall. The place is not particularly clean, our table especially, & the service lackadaisical. I love seeing local businesses succeed & try to patronize them, but this place isn't even trying. Yet they seem to be making it. Bottom line: if you have a minimum quality expectation of Japanese cuisine, keep looking. We're people who don't treat ourselves to eating out all that often & our excitement at trying a new place in town was dashed. read more

They used to be fantastic. I don't know what happened but the quality of the food changed. The salmon has been dry the last 3 times I ordered it. They are more skimpy on the teriyaki sauce and the flavor is not as good as it used to be. Even the rice is dry. I wish they would go back to the way they used to be.
