But at the same time, I also did not mind having all of the servers to ourselves. We just got done with the massage and I was craving something Mexican. When I sat down and started looking at the menu and saw that there were so many different classics to choose from as well as some twists on new flavors. I was pretty excited to try this place out. I was not crazy about the chips and salsa. The chips are really hard. And the salsa is extra spicy, which is completely unnecessary. So we just didn't eat much of that. Put her food didn't come out quickly and it was hunt and it was very good. I had to cheese enchiladas and I cleaned my plate. My date had a burrito. Smothered and it looked. Super yummy. It was really good. I was very surprised at how good it was and how it hit home. I'm used to eating Mexican food in Mexico and in Texas and this was fabulous. When we got the bill, I was surprised that how affordable our mail was for is what we got. I thought that this is definitely somewhere. I would want to visit again. This is classic. Easy, fun, good atmosphere, good music, good vibes. Good service.

We got a table within 10 minutes despite it being pretty packed at 7 pm on a Tuesday. We started with the El Minero cocktail which was great as well as esquites and the salsa trio. The Macha salsa is SO good! The esquites was also really good. We ordered a carne asada taco, birria taco, and chicken enchiladas suizas and enjoyed all of them! The carne asada taco was the least exciting so we would probably try something else next time. Overall, a great dinner, we can't wait to go back

Date night in Arvada. Old town has a lot of options. This place was packed on a saturday…read more Let's talk about service. First impression of the server was great. Personable and attentive. He was awesome all night. Their drinks were some of the best in the city. I had a paloma, wife had the casa marg. Both were very fresh tasting. For mains I did some tacos, and she did the enchiladas both ways. I was very disappointed by the Birra Taco. The shell was not a traditional birra shell. It was just some cheesy short rib in a regular street taco corn tortilla. They were all on the same soft tortilla. Maybe because they are 100% gluten free for everything. The lack of gluten really held back the tortillas from being very traditional or very good. The carnitas taco had great flavor. It lacked any crispy bits that separates carnitas from pulled pork. But the flavor was there. The enchiladas were stuffed with chicken. Great flavor for both ways. Creamy jalapeno was the winner. Overall the ambiance was exciting but a bit too loud. It didn't quite require yelling to have a conversation with someone next to you. But definitely a lively atmosphere.

The strawberry margaritas are always above average quality -- strong but smooth. Chips came out hot and crispy, and the salsa is terrific. Fresh with just the right amount of kick. We had the combo plate with an enchilada, chile relleno, and tostada, plus the Steak Ranchero with rice and beans. Both were hot, huge portions, and packed with flavor. The tortillas were steamed and fresh. Service was fast and friendly. Consistent quality every time I come here. Highly recommend.

The food is consistently excellent. We've ate here four times so far and haven't been disappointed once. My personal favorites so far are the enchiladas and the fajitas. In my opinion a lot of places tend to overcook the meat in fajitas, but not here. The meat has always been tender, and the seasoning is spot-on. The staff at Donna Maria are professional, welcoming, and attentive, which makes the experience even better. The restaurant space itself isn't huge, but it's comfortably sized, and we've never had to wait for a table. Despite being a busy place, they almost always have a seat available without delay. The food is good, the menu is extensive, the portions are large, and the staff is friendly and quick. Years ago my wife actually had her engagement ring swiped in the bathroom when she took it off to wash her hands (she thought she had dropped it). The manager of the restaurant spent about an hour helping my wife turn the store upside down looking for it, including fishing through all of their trash cans by hand. It wasn't their fault, but he went above and beyond to try to help her find it. We later figured out that the ring had been stolen, and it was eventually recovered, but the staff at this restaurant really went out of their way to help us find an item we believed had been lost in their restaurant.
