Cariflex Sports Diner has Jamaican and Caribbean food in Kendall…read more This sports diner is exactly that! Located within what I'd describe as a warehouse park or plaza, you can find signage on their door and there are a lot of spots but this area actually gets pretty packed, so you may take a lil to find parking. Inside has dim lighting, a bar area, a lot of seating, TV displays everywhere, and a pool table. Came here to grab dinner before heading to Spanish Marie. We ordered the jerk chicken plate, honey wings, and fries. The wings were by far my favorite, and I'm actually a bit picky with wings so this was a win! This was my first time having jerk chicken and the rice and peas and it was just okay for me. This is what my partner usually gets here and he said that it tastes the same as when he used to come years ago so I think I'm just not a fan of the dish itself. Now what is wings without some fries? It's normal for me to get these two together, so I ended up ordering the cheese fries. Now cheese fries from a Caribbean place is not the norm and I have to say, there's probably a reason for that. They were not the taste I was expecting and we ended up not finishing them or taking them home. Other than that, the food was pretty good. Service was five stars! The gentleman that was helping us was super patient and helped answer all our questions of what things were on the menu. A nice spot to enjoy Jamaican & Caribbean food while watching sports in Kendall.

It was the outstanding service and the friendliness of the owners that blew me away. With that said, here we go... This is a very small, cozy, and might I add, SUPER CUTE place hidden away down south behind Tamiami Airport. This is the only reason why I think people have claimed that it is "dead." If this place were located anywhere else, it would be hopping every night of the week. Despite the small space, they have managed to decorate it beautifully and given it a real sports bar feel. They have TV's everywhere and the bar area is awesome. They have 2 small tables outside for those that would prefer outdoor dining but honesty, I would rather be inside because it is THAT cute! Now on to the drinks - they only have a beer/wine license but they make up for it by having some great wine and beer selections on hand. The Coronas come out so damn cold you have to wonder where they are storing them. Icy, refreshing, and ready to hit the spot! There is nothing like a real COLD ONE to accompany a basket of chicken wings and cheese fries! Their Pinot Grigio is very good and next time I go (oh, I WILL be back) I will make sure to sample the other wines they have. We were a group of 18 people and the owner was constantly checking in on us and the minute he saw a beer bottle reaching its end, he would come out with another one. My glass of wine was always full - I am hoping this is a good omen for things to come in 2017 :) Later in the evening, his wife, which is also the cook, came out and introduced herself. These are wonderful, hardworking people that aim to please. I love going to these small, mom & pop places that give you unparallel service and quality of food. They have a vested interest and it shows. Because we were such a large group, we ordered a bit of everything. Cheese fries, every type of wings on the menu, chicken fingers, sliders, and they even accommodated our request for a vegan dish. Everything was delicious. The sliders on Hawaiian bread were soooooo good! Their menu is varied and they have something for everyone. They welcome any special request with a smile. If they have the ingredients on hand, believe me, they will make it for you. If it is not on the menu, do not hesitate to ask them - if they can do it, they will! Don't feel like feeding the jukebox but have a special request? No worries, just tell the owner and he will blast it for you. Wanna dance? No problem! Tables will be moved to accommodate your butt shaking. Want to host a private party? they got your back. Want them to cater your next event? They can do that too! Oh, how I wish this was closer to my home - but it is close enough to my job so I am foreseeing many a happy hour in 2017!

I gave this place another try. They have improved. The brisket was delicious!…read more Good food at a fair price. Good place for lunch and a beer.

When we arrived, the place was packed. We added our names to the waitlist and ended up waiting a little over 30 minutes. Thankfully, the process was easy and they texted us when our table was ready. There was also plenty of parking available in the large shopping center lot. Once seated, we were taken to a table in the back near the windows, which was a nice touch. The restaurant felt very spacious. I never felt crowded or like I was sitting on top of other guests. The dining room was bright, clean, and had the welcoming atmosphere that First Watch is known for. The service was excellent from start to finish. Unfortunately, I did not catch anyone's name, but every employee we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and professional. For breakfast, I ordered The Traditional with scrambled eggs and cheese, smoked ham, whole grain artisan toast, and I substituted the seasoned potatoes for cheesy grits. I also ordered an orange juice. Everything was good. The eggs were cooked well, the grits were creamy, and the orange juice was fresh and refreshing. My only small complaint is that I could have used another piece of smoked ham or a slightly larger portion. My friend ordered the Tri Fecta with an extra egg and bacon, along with the Morning Meditation juice, which combines orange, lemon, turmeric, organic ginger, agave nectar, and beet. He enjoyed everything and had no complaints. Overall, that pretty much sums up the meal. Nothing was bad and everything was prepared well. At the same time, neither of us walked away completely blown away. It was simply a solid breakfast experience with good food, excellent service, and reasonable prices. I would absolutely come back to this location and to First Watch in general. It is a dependable brunch spot that consistently delivers a good experience.

We visited later in the day, which was perfect--the weather was great and the whole place had a relaxed, vibrant vibe. When we first arrived, it was a bit confusing where to sit. The outdoor tables near the front have low chairs, which weren't ideal for my parents, but they were still pretty comfortable overall. Further in, there's a covered area with benches and live entertainment, but be prepared--it gets loud with music and performances. Sitting outside gave us a more peaceful experience and beautiful surroundings. There's so much to do, especially for kids! There's a pony walk, a playground, slides, a little soccer area, and lots of space for families to gather and relax. The staff is great at cleaning up quickly, especially with animals and kids around, which keeps the space feeling tidy and safe. The food is absolutely incredible--everything comes in a basket, so keep an eye on your portions and choices as it can add up quickly. You can't bring your own water bottles, but they'll kindly hold them at the front for you if needed. While I didn't use the bathroom, my mom noted it was small. Still, the overall vibe, service, and food more than made up for it. I barely took any photos because I was too busy enjoying myself--especially my cocktail, which was delicious! The photos I did take didn't do the food justice--every bite was that good. Milagros Farm is definitely worth a visit if you're planning a family day out. It's lively, fun, and full of thoughtful touches. Just bring your appetite and some sun protection--it can get hot in the summer, but there are plenty of umbrellas and shade to help keep you cool. Highly recommend!

I do not agree with being charged an extra $5 for paying with a card. I have never been charged so many extra fees at a restaurant just for using a card. Also, the person selling desserts charged us more than the actual price of the ice cream and oblea, saying she didn't have change. This happened for the second time, which was disappointing.
